Me and my husband stayed here for our first wedding anniversary. we arrived earlier than the time stated on the booking, the receptionist was lovely gave us complimentary drinks for the rooftop bar, to say congratulations! we were able to go to our room straight away. It was beautiful! So calming! Had everything you need. Lovely hotel and will be definitely looking forward to coming again.

Breakfast was poor. Bed, matress and pillows, very uncomfortable. Overall condition of the hotel was good though. On check in, I was offered a voucher to use at the bar in exchange for not taking up room service (as part of the hotel's eco-pledge), which I accepted. But the room was cleaned and towels changed anyway which deafeted the object.

A warm and friendly welcome at reception but spoiled by exceptionally loud music from the adjacent bar which was loud enough to put me off having a pre dinner drink there. Everything in the room was great, worked well and was clean but it was one of the darkest hotel rooms that I have ever been in. Who thought to put the lighting in the bathroom behind the person using the sink. It was like shaving in the dark!

Veggie breakfast poor quality and not tasty at all. Not enough staff, 1 barman on sat night. No one on reception at 2250 sat night. Dust in room, coffee bags in room awful. Shower pressure really bad. Far too much money for what it is, i won't be coming back. Bathroom wall has cracks in.

Generally 10/10. Terrific style and wonderful staff. Mid-term room cleaning was disappointing and far too rushed. Bed not made, bins not emptied, used cups not changed, tea bags not replaced, etc. This might have been an oversight but I think it was pressure.

The hotel was beautiful and the staff lovely and friendly. We have eaten at Sora in York and the atmosphere was a little better there, we did have to wait a while for someone to serve us.

We had a lovely time. Perfect location for the Palace Theatre and Canal Street. Breakfast was delicious. Fresh fruits, juices, and fab coffee machine. We’ll be back soon.

The hotel is gorgeous, the rooms are a good size and really well decorated. We did find the music in the restaurant on the top floor really loud though (we were 3 floors down and heard it until it closed), which was strange because we were in the restaurant/bar until about 11pm and there was hardly anyone in it. The tram is also quite loud if you are in a room at the front (facing the city hall) which I appreciate is unavoidable but may not be as bad on the other side of the hotel. Staff were great, especially in the rooftop bar and at check-in and the hotel is in a brilliant location for anywhere you need to be in and around the city centre. Would definitely stay here again!

We have recommended this hotel to numerous people since returning it was a fantastic stay. We stayed here for a special occasion. Half board and at a great price. Check in was quick, with a lovely lady who gave us some recommendations on some bars in the local area. Our initial room had a fault with the lock on the door, reported it and we were moved instantly. Within 5 minutes we saw someone with a tool box fixing it. No complaints from us, it happens. Our room was stunning, spacious and super clean. Comfy bed, black out blinds and a huge clean shower! What more do you need from a room. We had our evening meal and breakfast here. Service was faultless, staff were lovely, welcoming and the food was delicious! The added touch of a glass of fizz each for our anniversary was very kind. Hotel is in walking distance to some great local bars and about 5 minutes walk to parking. Thank you Mal for a perfect celebratory weekend. We will be returning ☺️

Beautiful hotel you could tell it wasnt old.The staff are all so welcoming and friendly which is rare in hotels these days.I came for a special birthday and the card and cocktails was a nice touch.The room was so zen and quiet I loved it.The roof terrace is beautiful for a drink and both times I was in I felt at home almost.The security man on Saturday night is a gentleman very on the ball and deals with guests so nicely.I missed breakfast sadly but Ill most likely come back again from Ireland.

Lovely new hotel as central to Manchester as it can be overlooking Albert sq. arrived at 3 :45 and room wasn’t ready which was disappointing as needed to change and be out for 4:30. However great service- offered complimentary cocktails in roof bar whilst room was ready. Within 15 mins key brought bar and advised upgrade to club room and bags in room. Great example of overcoming an issue. Thank you Mal M - lovely quirky decorated room- had a slight problem with the lights but reception gave us a ‘fix’ !! V comfortable bed and great black out curtains

The hotel is modern, and the staff are super helpful and friendly. I think this is one of the only hotels I have ever stayed in whereby the receptionist remembered my name, a nice touch. I have stayed in a number of Malmaison hotels, and this has to be one of the best. I would stay definitely again. Booking through Expedia was simple and the cheapest option so I was happy with this experience also.

Gorgeous hotel, and the rooftop bar is lovely. It’s situated right next to the tram lines, so that isn’t great, as they start running around 5.30am, the location isn’t on Deansgate.

4 of us staying here. None of us had hot water for a shower in the evening. One got hot water after running it for 10 minutes. So wasteful of tiime and resources. Complained to reception but it was manned by a maintenance guy not actual reception staff.

Lovely hotel. Stayed in a Club Deluxe room which was spotless and modern. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Superb location. Breakfast was excellent. Would recommend this hotel 100%.
