About this house rental
Boatswains Cottage is a beautiful 19th Century weatherboard fisherman’s cottage, just yards from the beach and situated on Whitstable’s sought after Island Wall.
You check in using a key box code. I am however local to the area, so if you need anything or have any questions, I am only a phone call away and a short drive!
The cottage is a stones throw away from the beach and is on a quiet road. The tennis courts are just behind the property and the beach is just behind that. There is a local store/cafe on your doorstep, Windy stores serves delicious breakfasts and lunches and has great coffee. The town centre is just down the end of Nelson road adjacent a five minute walk to discover the high street, great eateries and local boutiques.
You have access to all areas in the property.
Once used by the coastguard, this wood-framed cottage provides accommodation for 4 people over 3 floors and still retains its original features. Spread over three floors, the style of the house is beautifully simple. There are fantastic views of the sunny garden from the balcony and a wood burning stove provides cosy evenings during the colder months. Featuring all the mod cons you would expect and with the beach and tennis courts just yards away, this is a stylish getaway by the sea.

Open plan sitting/dining room with wood burning stove, flat-screen TV and DVD player, leading to kitchen/dining area equipped with microwave, fridge, washer/dryer, dishwasher and gas hob with electric oven. Doors leading to a well established sunny courtyard garden with decked seating area.
Twin bedroom and spacious Kingsize bedroom, and a beautiful family bathroom with roll top bath and handheld shower head, leading to balcony area.
PLEASE NOTE: the cottage may be unsuitable for younger children in respect to the stairs and the balcony area and children must be supervised at all times.
NOTE: The stairs in the cottage are quite steep
SORRY NO PETS ALLOWED
There is free street parking on Nelson Road just off Island Wall but directly outside the property there are double yellow lines. There are free 1 hour parking spaces on Island Wall which is ideal for unloading the car. The nearest paid parking is Keams Yard car park. Whitstable Train Station, on Railway Avenue, is the cheapest car park if you don’t mind a 10 minute walk. You can view the charges on the Canterbury City Council website. Parking can be limited in the high season but once you have parked up, you are close enough to walk into town, beach, shops etc.
You can also visit the 'Just Park' website to find out where to park in Whitstable.
There are frequent buses running from Whitstable to Herne Bay and Canterbury. You will find bus stops along High Street, Oxford Street etc.
The trains from Whitstable station will take you to Ramsgate or further afield to London. Whitstable Train Station is about a 10 minute walk to the town centre.
There are also Taxi services available for short fares or airport runs. The nearest airport is in London and the Ferry port is in Dover.
