My stay was ok for the time I was there

The Maxwell Del Mar represents the pride of Barbados. The cleanliness of my room was a sight to see. The pool was also gorgeous-blue-sunlight.
But if you really want to understand what makes this hotel so special, it is a warm and welcoming staff that caters to your every need.
The leader of this incredible team is Mr. Hal Haynes, who borders on Barbados royalty. A statesmen in every sense of the word, Mr. Haynes is a stately gentleman reminiscent of a bygone era when respect and dignity ruled the day.
I also thank Nadia and Matthew for their superb service.
Stay in this wonderful Barbados hotel before you cannot get a reservation!

I enjoyed my stay. Was just disappointed that some items that were on the menu, weren't actually available. Also the rooms are not cleaned daily. The staff are very kind and helpful and though the pool is small, it was very nice to have it there. The food was basic but nice. All in all it was a pleasant stay.

Guy on reception really helpful sorted room out and early check in quickly and for free.
No coffe or milk in room but waiter from restaurant sorted it.
Room a bit small, shower small no hot water that we could get but otherwise ok. Comfortable for a 1-2 night stay.

I will most definitely be visiting again! The staff were friendly and welcoming! Much thanks to Matthew at front desk, Mr Haynes in the restaurant and the nice Rasta lady at front desk (can’t remember her name).
Pros: Amazing facility, friendly staff, walking distance to the beach, 10 mins walk from the service station, shops close by, food was delicious, 30 mins walk to Oistins, very close to transportation
Cons: at the time of my stay, there was no housekeeping, parking not on the facility & no secured parking, portion size was a bit small (personally speaking)
In all, I really did enjoy my stay. A big thanks to Mr Haynes for waiting back to ensure I got there safely and guiding us through how to navigate the island. Also I would recommend trying his rum punch!

It was close to the main road which makes it very easy to get a local bus and go to the city or beach and also very helpful receptionist. I would definitely recommend this hotel if your traveling to Barbados.

Very intimate and comforting place to stay away from home.. about a 6 minute walk from the beach and very close to Sandals resort and Bougainvillea hotel.. will be back… Barbados owes me nothing…💜🇧🇧💜

It was an overall good stay.
Matthew was a gracious and supportive receptionist. He attended to our needs without a fuss. The only major issue with the property was the lack of hot water in the shower. There was also a roach in the bathroom which Matthew handled after the first night. We didn’t receive room cleaning service during the stay, not sure if we had to request it after the third night. The room we got was small but cozy enough for two; equipped with a safe, mini fridge, microwave, two teacups, two glasses and some tea and sugar. For me, some blankets would have been nice to have as the AC works really good and blows cold air keeping the heat at bay.
Breakfast was enjoyable and tasty. The cafe was quiet during the day and we were served by Hal who was also quiet and helpful.
The location was ideal as there is a bus stop outside the hotel which we utilized to get around. The hotel is also ten minutes walk from the Deia beach restaurant.

Hotel was good. Staff was great. I enjoyed the food as well. Has a fridge and micrI would stay here again. Outside area can be noisy cause of the main road. I was fine, but light sleepers might find it annoying at times. The beach is just a short walk down the street, so is the Sandals Resort. Two more resorts can be reached along the beach before things get too rocky for walking. Oistins Fish Market and Massy grocery store are a short drive away by taxi.

It's in a convenient location for transportation. Some of my towels had stains on them. They gave me a floor towel with rips and holes.
Staff often was not at front desk.
One staff at the restaurant, a lady that worked a morning shift was very unpleasant. She was on the phone while people were waiting to be served.
There is this older guy that works at the restaurant, he was delightful!
Overall a comfortable stay, but stay need to do better.

Mr Haynes is the best, very friendly and helpful. All atound nice property close to the road so transportion to and from wasnt an issue. There was a sewer smell near the pool area dont know where it was coming from and there was work done closr to my room that caused some nuisance. I would stay again

Checking in was easy and the room they gave me was private and had its own door to the outside. It’s near the bus stop that takes you along the beach and to town and also near the Lawrence Gap which has a lot of restaurants and clubs

It is a Small Boutique Hotel with the feel of a Big Hotel but more intimate and less crowded.
The Hotel is situated in the entrance of Sandals Royal and is right on the Bus Route.
There are no amenities like shops in close proximity but a quick ride on the Public Bus gets you to nearby restaurants and shops in mere minutes. I will definitely use this Boutique Hotel Again

Del Mar is a cozy place to stay. The studio I was in was very clean and looked newly renovated. It had a small patio overlooking the pool. The ambience was nice. The rooms are very close to the front desk area and main road which can be bothersome but overall its a nice and clean place to stay especially if traveling alone. I would stay there again.

The hotel is very nice, clean and cozy. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The food is fresh and delicious and the prices are reasonable. They also recommended me a taxi driver, so I can visit Flower Forest Botanical Garden, Wildlife Reserve and Bathsheba. Thank you for everything! I had an amazing time!

I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, my only concern was the noise due to the roadside of which they would have no control over however once looked past everything else was amazing!

I was pleasantly surprised about cleanliness and security of this hotel. Small but my room and seemed like whole place was totally renovated. 10 min walk to beach & on bus route. Across street from Sandals. And very reasonable price. Thank you;

Overall very nice. Up to date facilities just a little noisy with cars passing and music playing very early in the morning

Wonderful staff, kind considerate friendly owners.

The stay was excellent. The fees were very affordable. The rooms were decently sized and clean. The staff were hospitable, especially Matthew. He was extremely hospitable and helpful.
The only downsides we have are:
1. Strange sounds I heard in Room 103, where we stayed, where it sounded like water dripping from an AC unit or faucet from the rooms above;
2. The walls appear to be thin, as sound travels very easily. We can hear people's conversations, the ringing of cell phones, etc.
Apart from that, it was excellent. We will definitely return once God spares our lives next year.
