Burg Stargard (approx. 12 km away) offers shopping facilities, an ice cream parlour popular with locals and visitors alike and a number of other attractions, such as a summer toboggan run, several riding stables and a museum. The town's most important landmark is the medieval hilltop castle, which is the venue for various major events, such as the annual castle festival in August. The nearby 'four-gate town' of Neubrandenburg not only offers many other shopping opportunities, but also various restaurants, cafés and pubs.
