It is a cute, modern hotel. Great bathroom and room had all we needed, even a safety box. It would not hurt to add a coffee maker.
I found a couple of hair on the bed.
The location is convenient, close to the subway but it is a very dirty neighborhood and full of junkies.

Great checking and wonderful view from the 9th floor. Area is a bit sketchy but the hotel is a lovely surprise.

No breakfast for the price...

Great stay, super friendly and helpful staff. Easy transport to Downtown.
The area might seem scary, but at no time did we feel unsafe, people were friendly and we ended up loving the area

It is a decent stay for the purpose of just needing somewhere to sleep.

The hotel was great, remodeled, room clean and new like, but the outside is scary. Getting there was and adventure walking around all the crazyness.

The property was situated in a neighborhood that was not what we expected. It was not properly described in the information provided on Expedia. Although it was somewhat safe, there were a number of street people in the general vicinity of the hotel. The picture on the platform is somewhat deceiving as my wife and I pictured a much quieter neighborhood. It is situated on a commercial block that is home to storefronts and other local businesses. There are no restaurants or drinking establishments nearby.

The inside of the hotel was nice and the staff was top notch. Would have been nice to have at least a continental breakfast. The location of the hotel was very poor but I realize the staff can’t do anything about that. I probably would not stay again bc of the location. Sorry.

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is well maintained and clean. Lots of restaurants and shops around with chose access to the metro station. The area around the hotel is a bit messy and dirty but we didn't feel it was unsafe. If we go back in that area we'll definitely stay there again.

They need to have new pillows because they have is like crackers

The property was much smaller than on the photos. Rooms were not even big enough to open a suitcase on the floor. The mattress was extra hard and uncomfortable and did not get very good sleep at all. I had my son with me and outside of the hotel is a lot of homeless and vagrants walking around and will walk up to you and ask for money or for you to buy them food. It’s a very unsafe situation if you have kids with you.

Everything was fine for what needed the room for, just a place to sleep.

Property was nice and clean. Service was excellent!!! All the staff was polite and on top of it. The area itself is not the best. The hotel is excellent!

I really liked it and have no complains. However, if you book this Hotel you need to know that you will be right in the Bronx. The Hotel itself is amazing, very new and clean and the Serivce is great too. If you step outside tho there is a whole different environment (Dirty and a lot of homeless and drugaddicted people). I never felt unsafe tho, and the supermarket right infront the Hotel is great too.

I was stunned at how nice the room was. On the small side but certainly very adequate, clean, immaculate bathroom, nice toiletries, comfortable bed, excellent air conditioning, quiet, hot water - everything appeared to be brand new and worked flawlessly. Was I the first guest? I would give the room 10plus.
The price was very reasonable. Great value.
It is near LaGuardia in the Bronx in a very questionable neighborhood but the Melrose was great / thought I was in midtown Manhattan! Noticed Burger King and Duncan Donuts just steps away and other convenience shopping near. I think the neighborhood is trying to improve. I would definitely stay there again!

We checked in and the tv was broken and not working. The AC kept shutting off. Gave us only 3 pillows for a king size bed and they were flat like cardboard. There were crackheads right outside the door that would yell and scream almost every time we walked outside. Very dirty area. Then the hotel called after checking out and said they were charging me $300 for the broken tv and that I was banned. I don’t even have speeding tickets, let alone anything as repulsive as that on my record. I am still in shock and absolutely appalled.

It needs parking for guests, I got a ticket parked in the front overnight and in the morning just a few minutes before I got my car I found a ticket. Paying the $45 was painful.

This is one of a few boutique hotels around the area that has a microwave and a refrigerator inside the room. It was very clean, bed, bathroom. The TV selection is…puzzling, no local channels (was trying to catch the NBA finals game, couldn’t even broadcast from my phone), otherwise very comfortable for my 1-night.

This property is fairly new. It gives you exactly what's needed. The rooms are nice, a bit smaller than average but it was enough! I would recommend this hotel, as well as stay here again!

Totally out of the hotel’s control I’m sure, but trash liters the street and sidewalk outside of the entrance. The room was small but it is very clean and comfortable. I would stay here again because of the price for such a comfortable room.

Room is small however clean. Location is not ithe best area

This a new facility, very sleek and contemporary in style. The staff was exceptional, starting with Jessica at the desk during the day and DeJohn (Sp.?) at night. Both were resources for the surrounding area dining, Bronx must-sees and transportation access.
I would maximize the small room storage amenities with some additional shelving and hanging pegs.
This vertical slice of tranquility is a hidden gem of the Bronx.

Hotel was quiet and relaxing.
