We stayed here before, so knew roughly what to expect. However, on arrival in the room, there was a smell of urine (which either dissipated during the stay, are we just got used to it). We registered as two people, but they only left us one bath towel and no hand towels or washcloths. I called the helpline to complain about the towels, and to their credit, they did leave us two more towels the next day, but they also left the room unlocked!!! (The automatically locking door was flaky, and we found we had to be very careful to assure that it was locked before leaving the room.) I used one of the common toilets, and it was a little cloudy before using it, and afterwards, I found it is not flushing properly. There was a plunger there, and I tried three times to get to plunge, to no avail. That took a couple days before they resolved it. Also, somebody had colored their hair and left a mess in one of the common sinks. That took 2 days to be cleaned up. And lastly, they did not have any decaf coffee. All in all, not a pleasant stay. Even though we are cost conscious, and it is the cheapest place to stay in Eugene, we will not be staying there again!!

Great place to flop. Check your various emails cause missed where the room details and codes went. Shared bathroom so just be ware not in your room.

There is a rehab center next door and sketchy folk hanging around. It was never mentioned in any of the prior reviews. There was partying going on in the hotel and she did not get a good night’s sleep. It did not feel safe for my daughter, a UO student. The shared bathrooms were not clean.

When i booked this property it was not clear that it is not a hotel but rather a house converted into rental rooms that are accessible with a code sent to your email. There is no one at the property in case you need something. Also, your rental includes only a room (a tight one so no room for luggage) and then there are shared bathrooms in the hall and a shared kitchen. The bed itself was comfortable enough, however, my room had a very draughty window and the thin blanket wasn't enough to keep me warm. Additionally, the ac was running even though it was in the 40s at night. I was lucky that i had a blanket in my car so that and sweats kept me warm. There were no aditional blankets anywhere. Also, there is no parking on premises- only street parking. Overall, this served its purpose as i was traveling alone, but if i had someone with me there would not have been enough room.

When I got to my room it was not clean. No sheets on the bed, no pillow cases. The comfort was on the chair and the pillows on the floor. I had to ask to borrow bed sheets from a friend that lives close by. So on my first night there I had to sleep without a comfort since I couldnt wash it because the change machine did not work... So I wasted money since they charged me for a cleaning fee and my room was not clean. The bathrooms were dirty as well. Some one peed all over the floor and one bathroom had to be put out of order for a while.... It is near a market of choice, 8 min walking from a McDonalds and next to a really good taco restaurant. The wifi worked just fine. They have a coffee machine...but I am not very happy with my stay and I don't think I will be coming back.

I was a little skeptical on having a shared bathroom, but it really wasn’t bad. There was always one available. I really have no complaints about my stay everything exceed my expectations.

It is what it advertises. You share a bathroom (we were on the third floor - cheaper, and 5 rooms shared one bathroom, but you could go to the more plentiful bathrooms on other floors for some "quality time"). And you share a kitchen. Again, the 3rd floor kitchen was minimal, but baking up a pizza and eating the meal in the second floor kitchen was nice. It is convenient to the University, and very quiet. Comfortable bed and good (maybe excessive) air conditioning.

Counting Z's was a new kind of accommodation experience for me. I saw no "hotel" staff on premises. Communication before, through messages delivered via Hotels.com and through text (by request via my phone call, speaking with a live person, though one miles from Counting Z's). Door lock by code on exterior doors as well as your room door. The room is Spartan, just a bed, two chairs, a desk, with towels and washcloths, and wifi. Exactly what I need. You do not have a personal bathroom, but it was no issue getting into the shower or brushing your teeth. As the signs pointed out, there are plenty of bathrooms on the premises. Counting Z's is close to the U of Oregon campus and all kinds of local eateries and businesses. I'm looking forward to staying there again on the cheap.

when i've booked the room i didn't realize that the bathroom and shower are common use and not in the actual room. that was not comfortable!

Horrible check-in process. Everyone who was staying there at the same time had the same problems with incorrect access codes. Very difficult to get ahold of someone to correct the problem.

I made a reservation to stay here through Expedia and I was suppose to get the door code and instructions 24 hrs before my stay and the property never responded to my many messages. I never got any info and had to find a hotel last minute. Terrible.

The customer number was not in service. The bathroom and shower area was co-ed. Out of the three points of entry, only the back door worked.

The property was clean and neat beyond expectations; however, the CONTACTLESS check-in was inconvenient, frustrating, and took several calls to Expedia. I was not the only person either. 3 others were also having the same issue that same night. We all did manage to get checked-in, but I will never choose that option again.

I recently got evicted and Money is really tight and they were crazy accommodating and even when the computer bugged out and they thought I missed paying for a night they were Understanding and later, I provided proof that I did pay even without them asking. This is a place that has a third-party that you go through for reservations and the third-party can be a little rough to get a hold of the actual owner Goes above and beyond to make sure that their customer stay happy.

This was horrible. Whoever runs this is misrepresenting themselves as a small business; they are lying. The locks were deadbolted and the door combo locks weren't working. Noone was available by phone, noone responded to my emails, and yet I know someone was onsite, because the only allowable vehicle in the driveway was warm. Do not stay here! They are only out for profit and don't care if a woman is by herself on a darkly lit street with no ability to get into the building except for another guest who let her in. The locks are undependable. Even when I sent a message, I got an autogenerated response. It's as if it's only run by a business. They are close to campus so I would have thought it would be a lot better, a cheap place to stay. Wrong!

Booked the night through Hotels.com. Arrived at the hotel at night after driving 4 hours after working all day. Came to the building locked up with lights turned off. No number to call or look up, no email or instructions to get my room were provided. Called Hotels.com for a refund, they can't even get a hold of this hotel so our refund request was declined. So I paid for a room I was physically unable to get to and no way to contact for help.

The windows are glued shut and cannot be opened. There were no visible fire extinguishers or fire escapes. As a firefighter, this is disappointing. There was no one on property to assist with issues, such as supply or bedding replenishment.

I got evicted thus month and have been staying here the last week, it’s honestly like a little slice of home here. Very thankful with how flexible they have been about me getting money transferred in the morning to be able to stay another night.
