Inside, it’s a warm, rustic refuge for two couples or a small family, with luxury and amenities unsurpassed anywhere in the Glacier Park area.
The bedroom invites you with a king size bed topped with a Hudson Bay blanket and pillowcases. An antique wardrobe harmonizes with the blue pine ceiling with live edge trim. Radiator fans in the roof have been transformed into skylights to let in the Montana sunshine. And on those cold Montana nights, you can crank up the coziness with the fireplace.
The main living area features 400-year-old reclaimed oak floor, wall accents of birch, cedar and cottonwood, a leather comfort sleeper sofa, and a native Montana Argillite stone fireplace with a 46-inch LCD television.
Luxury and comfort abounds in the bathroom. Heated rainforest marble floor . . jetted tub framed by walls of travertine stone . . smoked glass sink on a wrought iron base.
The full kitchen boasts a refrigerator, gas range, microwave, dishwasher, double copper sink and disposal. Lotus granite countertops and custom cabinetry were chosen to match the rich wood interior.
Up front the operator’s cab has been restored to better than new condition providing a unique sitting lounge. Slide into the leather engineer’s seat, grasp the throttle, and imagine yourself commanding thousands of horsepower.. You can almost hear the thundering diesels echoing off granite walls and lodgepole pines as your mile-long freight train conquers Marias Pass.
Outside the living room opens to a spacious multi-level deck, perfect for an outdoor party – or for sharing a crisp mountain sunset, fragrant with boundless pine wilderness. Montana’s essence is just outside the door of Great Northern 441.
