About this house rental
The former home of one of the founding families of this famed fishing village and pioneers in transforming this area into the seafood capital of South Carolina, this historic cottage is steeped in vintage charm. From the expansive wrap-around lawn and dock, you can gaze out at the untouched and pristine Huntington Beach State Park.
We are conveniently located directly on the Waccamaw Neck Bikeway, an 18-mile multi-purpose path that trails through Huntington Beach State Park on its way to Pawleys Island. The Murrells Inlet Marshwalk, lined with seafood restaurants, is just 2 miles north. There are also two restaurants within very short walking distance of the house, Graham's Landing Seafood and Southern Hops Brewery. Huntington Beach State Park and Brookgreen Gardens are 1.5 miles south and both accessible along the bike path. A pass for Huntington Beach State Park and tickets to Brookgreen Gardens are included in your stay.
Our dock has a cozy seating area perfect for a morning cup of coffee, placing you in the middle of one of the most beautiful views in Murrells Inlet. The dock is also perfect for fishing, crabbing, and launching your canoe or kayak, but boat docking is not permitted. (Fishing and crabbing supplies, kayaks, and canoes are not provided.)
We are new to VRBO, but not new to the rental market. Here are some of our recent reviews:

"We had a wonderful time. There was great communication throughout our stay. The view was amazing and the sunrise breathtaking. The Huntington state park pass was a huge bonus and we love our salt and pepper souvenirs the host left for us. We will definitely be back."

"I stayed here with a small group of friends. We were very comfortable and very satisfied. The view of the marsh is outstanding."
November 2023
"We had a lovely, authentic Murrells Inlet experience. It was a real home with incredible views, minutes from Brookegreen Gardens, Huntington Beach, State Park, and all the restaurants in Murrells Inlet. The beds were very nice and felt fresh. Everything about our stay was very nice. We highly rate this home and would love to come back again someday."
More about the history of the home:
In the 1950s, Clarence Morse opened the first oyster roast restaurant in Murrells Inlet a short distance away in what is now known as Morse Park Landing. Morse’s home has been maintained and restored, keeping its original design and feel. We are proud to be able to provide our guests the ability to enjoy the seafood capital of South Carolina, while staying under the same roof as one its legendary founders.
At its heart, Murrells Inlet remains a laid back fishing village and this is uniquely personified by Huntington View Inn. As the years pass by, the area around us has grown and become a busy place, but here time seems to be frozen. The land remains the same, our sandy banks unchanged, and inlet views unwavering.
Other things to note:
This is a Duplex. You will have the entire upstairs house with a separate entrance, living spaces, AC controls, and designated parking. No motorcycles allowed. This policy is out of our control, no exceptions. Not suitable for children under 8.

My family selected this vacation home for our stay because it was very close to Huntington Beach State Park. We enjoyed the quaint antique decor and the spacious property. The house had everything we needed (and very nice sheets/bedding as well!) along with a lovely view of the sound. When we had trouble with the keypad on the door, our hosts were prompt problem solvers. I’d certainly come back.

This historical gem offered the most relaxing vacation you could ever imagine. From the moment we walked in, we felt right at home. The bedrooms are all large and spacious with crisp, fresh linens and comfortable bedding. The bathrooms are smaller but certainly adequate. The kitchen is loaded with anything you need to prepare and serve meals if you choose.
History abounds with splashes of beach themed touches and charming decorations.
We loved the screened sun porch and then the separate side porch with many places to sit and relax.
Our favorite was the big comfortable cushioned chairs by the marsh. We spent mornings with our coffee and tea watching the plethora of birds singing and looking for breakfast. Fish jumping to tease them and fisherman nearby.
In the evening, the lights strung throughout the trees added a magical touch with their reflection on the water.
If you are looking for a hotel or condo experience this is not the place for you. But if you like the charm and history of an older and solid home with an eclectic mix of old and new, a place where you can immerse yourself in nature and truly relax, don’t pass up this magical experience for everyone of all ages.
Ginger is lovely and we felt like we were kindred spirits. We loved the adorable gift and used the passes for Huntington Beach State Park - which is amazing and Brookgreen Gardens which was an incredible experience.
We can’t wait to return to this very, very special slice of heaven on earth.
