Great overnight for a concert!

Loved this hotel. Coffee bar that converts to a wine bar at night. Walkable to just about everything!

Front desk staff were very unfriendly. Elevators didn't work. The entire time we were there they were at 50% capacity. Cafe staff should invest in a pair of tongs instead of using a new latex glove to grad each and every croissant, it was an ecological nightmare.

Stay was ok. Outlets didn't work and I had to charge my phone in the bathroom. No mini fridge and the shower was small.

I thought that the hotel was nice but overpriced. The location is good, close to the subway and the central park.

This property is not cheap so my husband and I expected at least a decent amount of good service. Right when we arrived with our luggage, no one offered to help us and we had to drag our huge luggage up 3 steps to their front desk.
The front desk was not warm and when we asked if we can do an early check-in (it was already 2pm), he outright said no, without even looking if he had any available room.
We left for lunch and came back and asked the front desk if our room was facing the Hudson - we picked a room with a balcony- she said NO it had NO VIEW.
I was so disappointed so I went to the other person at the front desk, and asked if we could get a view at least, he asked us what our room number is, we told him its 1408 then he said, it is actually facing the Hudson. I asked him why did the other lady say no he just rolled his eyes!
Very unprofessional staff without an ounce of customer service training.
Elevator was swaying which was so scary. I have a video of it.
The drinks were unreasonably expensive. My husband and I had 4 cocktails and paid $110.00
The BALCONIES HAD NO PRIVACY! Each balcony only had steel bars to separate each room so we can see other rooms. When we stepped out of the balcony our first night, I was on the phone on speaker but not loud for sure just conversing, the other room guest from the one adjacent knocked loudly on their sliding door- meaning to keep quiet. So much for that balcony we paid for!We stayed for 3 nights and felt it was a big waste!

It’s in a great location for restaurants and getting around. The hotel is only so so and probably my least favorite of the upper west side hotels (Beacon and Bellclaire are better). It is expensive and I was shocked there was no heat in the bathroom. The furniture in the room is reminiscent of a dormitory room with cubbies that look like lockers in a kindergarten class room. The lobby has a pastry/coffee bar in the morning which is not included but nice. The building is currently shrouded in scaffolding and a netting so forget about views and unfiltered light.

I've stayed at this hotel many times because the location is very convenient for me. The rooms are very small and it could improve a bit in cleaning. As many pointed out, their convenience fee doesn't make any sense and distorts any comparison with other properties

Fall time visit. No heat in room. Moved us to another room with no heat AND no hot water in shower. Shower was eventually fixed, but only after we had to leave for an appointment. Never had heat in room. Room was not cleaned one day.
Beware that the room square footage sizes quoted include any outdoor space associated with the room. So our premium 450sf "room" was actually only 300sf, with the rest apparently composed of our portion of an undivided terrace area shared with multiple rooms. Manager waived the resort fee but seemed not to understand why this way of listing room sizes is misleading. If you're trying to pick a room based on interior space as we were, there's no information to enable you to know. (And really, how relevant is the outdoor space size when it's freezing outside?) While 300sf is still a decent size for NYC, its 1/3rd smaller than we were expecting.
On the other side, the room rate was reasonable for NYC, the location is good and staff were friendly. But won't be going back due to all the hassles.

Bear in mind that his is NYC where space is a premium and hotel rooms are usually quite small. This property has a lot going for it: location, good restaurant attached, pretty new beds and bedding, really good TV, friendly staff, convenient public transit, etc. It makes it hard to be critical. But there was a coldness about the room, particularly the bathroom, which featured a tile floor and stainless steel fixtures that just were not very warm and welcoming. Don't get me wrong; I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. My wife liked it more than me. It is the UWS so it is a clean, safe neighborhood, with dining and shopping options galore, but the maze of corridors and almost-industrial feel keeps me from giving this my highest rating.

The Arthouse is perfectly situated to see the park, with Lincoln Center and Broadway just a hop away on the subway. We got a king room with a terrace and river view - it was worth every penny. Only quibbles are - slow elevators and the hot water takes a long time to reach the 15th floor.

The Arthouse Hotel is in a league of its own in comparison to any hotel I’ve stayed at in the UWS. I’ve been shopping for my “go to” place to stay in this area of NYC for the last 6 months. The Arthouse was my first stay in the UWS and is my first choice for every trip from now. I’ve stayed at 3 other hotels in close proximity with similar ratings. The only thing they share with The Arthouse is their prime location.

Great location and great experience overall. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom could use some improvement, there was no table or cabinet to place toiletries and clothes, no hook on the back of the door.
