Another fabulous and comfortable stay.
Although this time there were no home made biscuits in the room like the last time I visited here....oh well 😔!
Breakfast was excellent and it's very good you now do a simple evening meal option too.

What an amazing time we had, when we spent one night at the hotel. From the moment we arrived, the hotel and staff, were very warm and friendly. The atmosphere was lovely and homely, and the staff were so friendly, and couldn't do enough for you. We ate in the evening, and morning, and the food was lovely. Absolutely no complaints at all. We highly recommend this hotel, and will definately be back.

I had a single room which was clean and comfortable with all the necessities. The staff were excellent warm, friendly and helpful. The breakfast was superb. Overall I was very happy with the hotel, it has a good sized car park in a good location and value for money compared to other hotels I have stayed in on previous visits to Carlisle and I will have no hesitation to stay again on my next visit.

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel considering the price we paid. We booked the Rickerby suite which has a living area with TV, bath in the bedroom, also with a TV, and shower in the bathroom. Complimentary crisps, chocolates and water in the fridge on arrival was a lovely touch. Plenty of toiletries and also a candle to light for a bubble bath. Everything was very clean and tidy with a comfortable bed and pillows. The bar area and restaurant are very well presented and the breakfast was one of the best cooked and tastiest buffet style that we've had in a hotel. There are some chefs specials that can also be cooked to order, also included in the room rate. Although we didn't eat in the hotel in the evening a good menu is available 5pm-9pm. Staff that we encountered were very friendly and welcoming. There is a pub across the road and an Indian restaurant a short walk away. Carlisle castle and the city centre are also a nice 20-30 minute stroll. Free parking is available behind the hotel. Should we visit Carlisle again we will most definitely stay here.

Rooms spacious enough. Clean and tidy. Maybe a little dated but still clean. Staff very friendly.
Breakfast really nice.
Didn't have draught drinks only bottled at the bar so didn't stay for a drink.
Only 15min walk into the city.
Good parking.

The hotel is in a good location and has a large carpark. Easy walking access to the town centre. The breakfast was excellent, great range, very helpful staff. The room was on the small side but was nicely decorated, the bathroom was a little tired but very clean. The staff on reception on check in and check out were very friendly. Would definitely revisit

Not sure about dining tables in the reception area, we didn't feel comfortable eating while other guests were checking in. Breakfast choice was great.

I would stay here again, the hotel was nice and the rooms very nice and the bed was very comfortable, tea coffee facilities in the room along with iron and ironing board which is a bonus for long stays also hairdryer which is standard
There is a good bus service outside the hotel which takes you into town, but it is a nice pleasant 15 to 20 minute walk
I would stay here again
The breakfast was very good with a lot of choice, above the usual standard of other hotels

We stay here on a regular basis and it is an excellent hotel, close to local amenities, and well priced for the area.

For £120 a night I expect more from a hotel where the rooms have not been updated since the 1980’s. The young man on reception was the best thing about the stay. The whole property needs gutting and starting again. It’s very tired and in need of investment.
What is more disappointing is the horrendous service at breakfast. The so called chef and the waiting staff have no pride in their job. Waiting 20 minutes for eggs royale when no other customer, which there was only 4 waiting for a cooked breakfast. To make it worse, he even got that wrong and gave me florentine instead. Seriously ! Staff quite happy had tunnel vision and would not engage proactively with you.
This is possibly the worst hotel I have stayed at for quality of room and service.

Can't fault it. I left very early after a one night stay, so haven't given it 5* in all aspects. Breakfast area looked good though. I was in a single room, and did feel like i had been banished to a lower standard of hotel, but once in room all was great. Main part of hotel looked very nice, although i didn't get chance to explore.
