When I booked my hotel, it said we booked a room with a queen size bed; it did not seem like a queen size bed because neither my boyfriend nor I had any space in the bed, and we’re both about average size. We have plenty of space in our queen size bed at home. The floor was felt extremely sticky when you walked barefoot after your shower. The main reason I booked this location was because of the refrigerator, due to having to take medication that has to be refrigerated. That was the one condition our stay location needed to have, a fridge of any size to keep my medications cold.

There were crackheads living there which made me feel unsafe when they approached me and asked if I were a narc. Didn’t have amenities that I thought should be included in homestays such as an oven, coffee maker, pots and pans, hairdryer which are commonly found in regular hotel suasion . I have stayed in homestays which typically have those amenities. The building itself was in need of repair - doors need painting, curtains had holes all over them . Paying almost $100 a night did not find it worth the value for a one night stay. I had stayed at homesuites in Medford which had all the amenities so was sorely dissapointed in staying at this one. Safety - 0. Staff would rate a 6( pleasant enough). Shower was ok. Toilet paper plentiful. No coffee maker/ blow dryer surprising.

My wife has respiratory issues and our room had a very strong scent. When we asked front desk she said that it was the houskeeping cleaning supplies they use when cleaning. We had to leave our room door open when we were there. Turned air and fan on when sleeping.

I would never stay at Hometowne Studios in Salem again. The location felt very unsafe, with a noticeable presence of homeless individuals hanging around the area and in the parking lot. Upon entering our first room, we found no toilet paper and a strong smell of weed. To make matters worse, the phone in the room didn’t work, so my husband had to go down to the front desk to request toilet paper and air freshener. Instead of giving it to him directly, they insisted on having a maintenance person bring it up, possibly because they thought we might steal it. This was frustrating and inconvenient as I just wanted a shower after such a long drive. After leaving the room for a few hours, we returned to settle down and watch some TV before bed, only to discover that the TV was damaged, with half the screen being black and unusable. We went back down to the front desk to report this, and the receptionist moved us to another room. Unfortunately, the second room wasn’t much better. It reeked of cigarettes, even though it’s supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. We found cigarette ash in the vents of the AC/heating unit, which was extremely loud and practically shook the room when running. The walls and windows were very thin, and being placed on the backside of the hotel facing the I-5 freeway meant we could hear all the traffic noise from the freeway, as well as our neighbors watching TV and yelling at each other into the late hours. I strongly advise against staying at this hotel.

The person at the front desk is very nice and very helpful. She booked us in her room very quickly however we got into our room and found standing water on the floor dirt in the ground themselves have food all over the stairways smashed cigarette butts. We had a queen size suite, but there was no cookware in the kitchen, I will not stay in Hometown suites in Salem again!

The motel room itself was extremely small and not very clean. No hair dryer, no maid service, no supplies in the kitchenette. I would not stay again.
However, the front desk team was outstanding. Friendly and very helpful.

This property is overpriced for the conditions of units and its location. Front staff was friendly enough no complaints there TV was not working. Rooms were clean yet. Need updating sleep disrupted due to air conditioner, noise and next-door occupants.

Nice enough place, especially for the money. Rooms are clean but very very small. It has a full kitchen but no plates, pans, cups, silverware..nothing, making it impossible to use unless you bring your own. Bed was comfy, internet good. Nice location about .5 miles from many stores and restaurants. Staff was very nice and helpful. Recommended
