Service was off, missing cleaning the room, room doors failed and we had to switch room, ferry times were not followed

Restaurants were all over priced with dull menu choices and slow service. Thanksgiving Day we waited 11/2 hours at the table and turkey entrees arrived cold. Manager comped the meals but not the way to celebrate a holiday. Bar items at the resort were way over priced and cocktails tasted watered down. Ferry service from the private island was woefully inadequate, making guests wait up to 45 minutes to be sure they would get a seat or even an hour when ferry filled up in mid afternoon.

2nd time here and I will be a regular. This has to be the most beautiful resort on the planet. Island, water park, pools, all built within a mountain. Also walking distance from some local restaurants. The people here in PR are beautiful and friendly. I love this place.

You will not find a more welcoming staff than those at the conquistador. Every team member was gracious and accommodating.

Great resort! The property is breathtaking. The staff is very courteous and willing to help. The pools and private island are above and beyond. The only thing I’d say negative is that the rooms are quite dated in the sense that they need a little tlc. Also, there could’ve been a bit more activities - I will say that when I stayed at the property the hotel was pretty much empty. Overall, a fantastic experience.

It was not our first stay, arrived Friday at nnoon at El Conquistador. We had a flooding at our room, called front desk and housekeeping. We had to wait 2 hours until they properly responded and moved us to another room. Once we got the new room, we had dinner in the hotel. When we got back to the room the shower water was so hot and no cold water- that we couldn’t take a bath. Saturday morning day we departed the hotel and no one cared. Had prepaid and did not received refund.
Unfortunately, the hotel didn’t take the minimum reasonable attention to the situation.

Love everything about this hotel. So clean. Staff is so friendly and courteous. Food and drinks were excellent. Water park was so fun. Love taking the boat to the island. Amazing water. Just love this place. Everything we visit Puerto Rico we have to stay here. It’s a must for our family!

Employees were not communicative. No one told us how to use the self parking. Had to walk several times from the parking lot to the front desk. And they put us in the farthest room from everything even though the hotel was empty. Very disappointing experience. Save your money and stay at a regular hotel in town.

Service was excellent!!! A lot of walking as the resort is massive. Very clean and Palomino island is unmatched!!!!! Just beautiful! Edwin in the Palomino beach and Omar at bell stand made our trip just perfect!!

El Conquistador was definitely a great choice for our 2-night getaway in the beautiful East coast of Puerto Rico, As a born and raised Puerto Rican, I remember going to this resort as a kid and visiting this time around definitely gave me a bit of nostalgia because the essence of this resort is so well kept. I recommend staying at El Conquistador for about 3-4 nights making sure to stay at Las Vistas, as this would give you the proper experience and the time you need to enjoy all of the offerings of the resort. All of the food we had at the resort was delicious (special shoutout to the octopus arepa at the Palomino Island resort and Ventanas for their Mamposteao rice).
We initially reserved a room at Las Brisas which definitely have the best ocean view, but unfortunately we could see that these rooms were outdated and some of the humidity signs were there. I believe the property could work on improving these rooms so everyone can have the proper luxury experience the resort offers. We moved rooms to Las Vistas and let me tell you, it was a DREAM. 360 degree change from our old room so I definitely recommend everyone to book these instead.
The Palomino Island is a beautiful aspect of the resort and we enjoyed it very much. All areas around the resort including pools, hallways, grass spaces, golf courses are so well kept. The length of our stay definitely gave us the opportunity to have a taste of the amazing resort this property is without getting monotonous, will return!

We enjoyed Palomino Island and the Waterpark. Palomino Island is definitely the best thing this hotel has. We did not like the fact that they still allow guests to smoke in all areas (We sat by the pool and there were people smoking all around us and same thing happened at Palomino Island) The self parking area is far from the resort and they charge a daily parking fee in addition to their high resort charges. Also, I don’t know what it was but the hall leading to our room smelled awful every single day we were there. We stayed in Las Brisas.

Visiting the facilities and staying was wonderful experience since; the location of the hotel has an amazing view of the Caribbean site. There still work to improve hotel operation; but I was amazed to see the Dimond trophy at the lobby front desk. Congratulation to the staff for their achievement has a five-star hotel. God Bless America.

The noise from the rooms on either side of us kept us up all night.
The tub is about one foot lower than the bathroom floor and there is no warning. My daughter fell on her back getting in.
The teleférico wasn’t working so they bused us to the dock to get the boat to Palomino.
There was construction all over the property.
Overall, only an ok experience. Might be better once they finish the renovations.

I did not like the self parking making a phone call from a machine having to use a signed reciept to get in and out of the resort after you register for your stay. Plus the 16 dollar parking fee which is charged as well. Per night. I feel like guests should park for free. Plus getting charged resorts fees on top of the room payment. 174 resort fees that I dont even know why?

The resort is beautiful but there are serious issues. Our first room smelled horrible from mold so I requested a room change. They still charged me the full $560 room rate but I demanded they compensate me so they gave me 3 days of complimentary resort fee. Due to the hurricane many rooms were wet so many guests had to have their stay modified. The beach is awesome but the boats often break down so they bring in smaller boats to bring you 15 minutes to the private island for the beach. The food in the restaurants is mediocre and very expensive. The breakfast buffet is $32 for very few food options. I will say the staff was excellent and the pools were nice. We liked the water park and lazy river although you must be 48in for the water slides. The stores in the resort sell mostly junk and it’s super overpriced. I was also hoping for more kids activities. Not sure if I’ll go back.
