We loved the historic hotel, but we had to search for someone to check us in- the woman tending bar handed us a key to a room on the 3rd floor. The stairs were steep and there was no alternative or help. We are both seniors, many of my peers would not have been able. There was no information about this when I booked us online.

This is a fantastic property in a very quaint little town atmosphere. Great restored building, nice bar and restaurant and excellent staff and service. There nothing to not like about this property, would highly recommend if you are in the area or close to it.

Wonderful spot. Frenchtown is lovely, right on the canal path for walking and biking. Highly recommend National Hotel. Cara is a generous host.

So enjoyed staying at this little jewel in Frenchtown. The owners are in the process of a tremendously creative renovation which includes a sushi bar. Great to see a family proprietor create a new contemporary rebrand of a 1850 treasure. Loved the live jazz Friday night. Great vibe!

My husband and I spent 2 nights at The National. We picked Frenchtown for a quiet getaway near the Delaware River to celebrate our anniversary. I'm so glad we ended up at this owner! The owner, Cara, is amazing. The food, service, and live music were all wonderful. They had a jazz band on Fridays and Saturdays, which completely changed our stay for the best! Our room was clean and comfortable. We'll be back!

Everything about here is excellent! Location, food, the room we stayed in, conditions of the hotel. Me and my fiancé loved it a lot. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent. We definitely will come back here when we’re in the area or close to it. Thank you very much for a wonderful service you gave us.

Rooms are very modern and clean, staff was super friendly and enjoyed sitting out on porch having cocktails. Only complaint is the noise in the morning from traffic on street. For such a quaint little town there is a lot of morning traffic and horn honking. Loved everything else otherwise.

Three star property with a great staff and fun bar. Could be 5 star if they fixed a few issues. The bedding is polyester cheap and the furniture situation is odd in multiple rooms. My room the only storage for clothes, etc was a shoe cabinet from ikea, which is not great. The closet was nice but they did not have a luggage rack, and with no dresser and only one chair really no place to unpack or leave a suitcase but the floor. My friend’s room had a tv console as the only storage and zero chairs/couches/seating except the two beds, and their room was plenty big enough for a few chairs or even a couch. The headboards are cloth, which isn’t great for preventing bedbugs, and the shampoo and such dispenser was full of random different smelling products. The towels were clearly from the former version of the inn as they still had steakhouse on them and were pretty frayed, and one of mine was dirty. The staff was great and the bar was good, but was also super loud in our rooms until the bar cleared out between midnight and 1am. Overall a nice place if you want to be in Frenchtown and was very convenient for our purposes, but be prepared for some bedding and design issues and noise.

Great room, very spacious and clean. Parking was available behind the hotel which was convenient. We had to search for someone to check us in and no one was on the premises at checkout. They do have a key drop by the front door but there was no one available if you needed anything before 12noon.
