I had a 2 day stay at the Lodge and was so pleased with the staff. The front desk folks were super nice and even contacted me during a tornado warning to insure I was safe! I was super disappointed in what was referred to as a Breakfast Buffet--there were only waffles and instant cereals with bread. I don't mind that sort of breakfast, but was charged 7.98 plus tax for a bowl of frosted flakes and a bagel. Simply unacceptable. that sort of breakfast is included with most hotel stays. There were simply no food options other than that on Mondays and Tuesdays. If you stay there, please bring your own food and a cooler--no refrigerators in the rooms either.

Lake Cumberland is so beautiful and so calming. Lure Lodge is one of my favorite lodging destinations.
The property is starting to show age in a couple areas, but also retains the charm.

Staff was super nice. The entire lodge was very clean.
The indoor pool had very strong chlorine odor, almost over whelming so we didn’t swim in it.
The continental breakfast was expensive and no protein foods. Waffles , wrapped pastries , cereal. We had to ask for yogurt and were given 1 kid size sweetened yogurt per person .
1/2 of our party decided against eating breakfast there.
No healthy options, besides an apple. People were leveling the dining room after seeing what was offered.
If the breakfast was better and the pool was not over loaded with chlorine, I would give it a better review.
Again the staff was amazing ! Very nice.

We were very disappointed that the lodge restaurant was not open for lunch or dinner on Monday and Tuesday.
Because our room had no fridge or microwave, we had to cut our stay short, since there was nowhere within an hour to get something to eat.
When we were checking out, the lady was extremely helpful and we found out that there were actually rooms available with a fridge and microwave.
We will definitely be back. The hot tub was the nicest I have ever seen.
The indoor pool was also very nice.
The view from the lodge restaurant was to die for, if it had just been open.

We had a lodge king suite and it was nice. It had a microwave, and fridge and a nice view. The cold air can only go down to 68 degrees. The room was clean, HOWEVER THEY DO NOT SERVICE YOUR ROOM IN BETWEEN NIGHTS STAYED. You will need to go to the front desk to get more soap, towels, coffee, etc. - Nobody can or will bring you those items. The phone doesn't work in the room so you will need to use your cell if you need anything. If you want to go to the state dock from the lodge, there is a shuttle that will pick you up and you can get the number from the front desk. There is not a lot of signage or information on anything anywhere so you have to ask constantly.
The restaurant was basic food and overpriced. You need to pay for milk in the morning for your cereal, FYI. But then note it takes 15 to 30 mins to get to the nearest restaurant.
The staff working for the restaurant and front desk were amazing. They were all kind and informative and just great people.
The PERCH didn't have any activities we could do for the weekend we stayed which was REALLY SAD because I even called ahead. We did do the mini golf which was fun, but is $5 per person.
The park itself was not upkept which is both the park and publics fault. There was trash everywhere and basic rules weren't being followed. For example, we stopped at the overlook and there was trash, carvings on the tables, the smell of urine, and the weeds/ greenery was unkept.
The state resort, lake, and county are overmarketed by

We never made it to Lake Cumberland. We ended up at Cumberland Falls. Asked directions three times and we ended up at Cumberland Falls a second time. So we changed it to Cumberland Falls. Sure I would have had more fun at Cumberland Lake because I like to fish. Maybe next time.

The first room that was given to me didn't have a refrigerator and microwave so we have to upgrade and pay an additional price. They didn't have enough bath towels in the pool area so i have to go out of the building to go to the lobby to get some towels because the phone in the pool area is not working. The restaurant is closed on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so i need to travel about 20 miles to eat my meals. The only good thing they did was to accomodate us about an hour early to check in.

Best thing about the room was the large balcony with a great view of the lake. The view made up for any short falls in room quality.

The trail near the lodge needs to be marked. The trail map showed that paths we could not find.
Dinner was good and quite reasonably priced.
