We enjoyed our stay so much and did not want to leave. The atmosphere is so peaceful and transcendent. The staff was accommodating, polite and anticipated our every need. It was like stepping back in time, but with all the modern comforts. We loved it.

We had requested to check in an hour early a couple of days prior to our arrival at Casa Santo Domingo & were told to call the day of arrival which we did. We arrived at 12:30 on Saturday 12/7/24 at the hotel & again requested to be able to get in our room at 2:00 to be able to change for a wedding we were attending at 3:00. We had lunch & our room was ready at 2:00; however we weren’t allowed to go inside until the housekeeping supervisor said we could at 2:30 after pleading with the front desk for over a 1/2 hour. We saw other guests checking into their rooms at 2:00 without incident. We were a little late to the wedding but mostly we were very disappointed at how we were treated at the front desk & by the housekeeping supervisor. The experience was unfortunate & very unexpected for a 5 star hotel.

Everything was clean, in order and with someone helping. Staff are always in good disposition to help, the room was excellent and the food at the restaurant super yummy. Consistent as we have stayed here in the past and it has new things to see. Great job Casa Santo Domingo.

We stayed in one of the less expensive rooms, which perhaps would make my stay very different to someone in a better room. The hotel is extremely luxurious, but our room had hard beds and you had to go out to get water and coffee, while most hotels provide for it in the room. If you pay your room in advance, you must leave a $300 credit frozen on one of your credit cards or leave $200 in cash as some kind of insurance. The hotel as such is super nice, and super fancy, but perhaps not the best in hospitality.

I recently stayed here and unfortunately, I cannot recommend it if you're looking for a peaceful getaway. While the hotel has a charming appearance, the overall experience did not match the price.
The noise level was unbearable. There were construction sounds throughout the day (nowhere in the booking did it indicate that there was construction at the hotel). The walls were paper-thin, allowing me to hear everything happening in neighboring rooms—from a child crying in the middle of the night to conversations from guests returning from parties. I could even hear when they used the bathroom or took showers!
In conclusion, if relaxation is your goal, this is not the right hotel for you. For the same price, you can find a better hotel that truly allows for rest. Plus, if you take a short walk, you can discover a lovely restaurant for breakfast and enjoy the museums—all at a lower cost.
I wish I could have enjoyed my stay more, but unfortunately, the noise made it impossible to relax.

Other than the construction, this place is amazing. Wish I had known about the construction ahead of arrival.

It’s very apparent they have their views of Americans that aren’t going to change. Customer service was awful.

I love this hotel. There’s a lot of amenities that you can use, and if you love museums and art you will probably enjoy staying at this hotel.
I recommend you to buy chocolates at the store near the church in the hotel.

I absolutely love this hotel in Antigua. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Is not too close to the city center but it is an easy walk. The restaurant was great for breakfast, our favorite part was the room service at night.
The hotel is beautiful and we found the beds and amenities very clean. I would definitely be back!

It was a great hotel property! So much history, art, food options, amazing pool, selfie locations, etc. Would stay there again. So much culture and history inside those walls alone. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Very central location to the city center, very walkable area. The hotel is very old so with our allergies the carpet in the room may need a facelift but otherwise no complaints.
