Typical balneario, emphasis on health, so a spare, clean quiet environment. We had a lovely river view from our room.

Quiescent place on the banks of the romantic river with Roman bridge . The view is unbeatable . The room is sparking clean . It is located in the sanatorium with Roman baths and rehabilitation center, some clients are elderly convalescents, which warms your heart, but it might not be for everyone’s taste.

Stayed 2 nites. First nite was a little strange. It seemed to be a location for a seniors only. Aside from the staff (who were absolutely GREAT!!!!) I seemed to be the only traveler in my age range. Overall the room was clean, breakfast was OK, its about a 15-20 min fairly aggressive uphill hike to old town.

Nice quiet place. The walls of Lugo are a 20 minute uphill hike, but doable. The river walking trails are great. The clientele of this hotel are largely elderly. The Roman baths in the basement are interesting if you like that sort of thing.

A million dollar view, but very dated. The beds were uncomfortable. The staff was not that friendly with English speakers. The spa did not have a functioning steam or dry sauna. I cannot recommend, unless you get a river view room and just take in the Roman bridge.

It was according the plan, simple and chip, but practical

This was average but inexpensive andots of parking. The downsides were the uphill walk into town, and no air con.

overall good stay.. the surroundings are nice but unfortunately it was raining..
be warned that in this balneary there is a smell of sulfur , but that's because of the water (healthy of baths) and there is nothing they can do about it..
about 15 minutes walk ( slope up ) from the city walls and free parking.. Breakfast is good too.

Service was amazing! River view from the room.

Hotel has a lovely location on a riverside & our room had great views. Staff very welcoming and spoke English too. 900 m walk to lovely old town but it is uphill and it was a struggle in the heat. You probably could easily take a taxi if you haven't your own transport. Roman wall was v interesting to walk around with great views over the old town. Didn't use any of the spa facilities at the hotel but seemed v reasonably priced. Breakfast was fine-basic but only €5.

This was a last minute choice during a freewheeling holiday through Spain. The hotel is built over Roman ruins which have been magnificently displayed.
Not knowing that 'balinearo' meant 'spa' it was a lovely surprise to find a medispa/hotel. Staff were wonderfully accommodating and did their utmost to interpret my poor Spanish. The river view and walk was stunning.
The surprises just kept coming. The Roman and modern bridges were beautifully lit after dark - mesmerising!
