This is basically a B&B but in a Palace with historical connotations. Arrival is somewhat difficult without a key to the entry courtyard lift, where the "hotel"" itself is on the 2nd floor. The rooms are sumptuous, particularly the Breakfast room. However you are on your own for any other services.

Breakfast which runs between eight and 11am. A disappointing first experience, when we first arrived 9am on the first morning; and they had no scrambled eggs and had run out. It wasn’t just the eggs, a number of items needed to be replenished but was not. Highly disappointing, considering that they had another two hours, of breakfast to get through. The coffee was at a good standard and generally the food was good at breakfast if adequately replenished once it ran out. Staff were generally quite friendly. if you have a car, it would be an absolute nightmare to park anywhere around where the hotel is. I simply recommend using the metro and walking rather than having a car while staying here. Highly recommend staying here to the interior and the grand tour of old Naples. I would have given 5 stars but disappointed by the way breakfast on the first day was handled!

The room was a good size with nice touch of the minibar was included which has soft drinks and also beers and some snack food. The bathroom was rather small and dated and non-luxurious compared to the rest of the room. The room was generally quiet as it was looking into the courtyard rather than onto the street. Rest of the accommodation was also very luxurious with lots of chandeliers, billiard room and a bar/ reading room, all had a beautifully decorated interior . The highlight was the large breakfast room with the three chandeliers which made it an absolute gem of room with the beautiful painted ceiling with views out to the main road contrasting the serenity of the inside to the hussle of the outside. I strongly recommend staying at Palazzo Doria Napoli. The hotel is an experience unto itself. It was conveniently located (short taxi ride from the airport and to the central train station), including walking distance to restaurants, grocery store, and shopping. The rooms were incredibly clean, decadent, and stylish. The staff were responsive and offered helpful recommendations for dining, and navigating locally.
