My husband and I had a wonderful stay, the property has a lot of history and staff was eager to inform us. The rooms was clean. We ate at the restaurant and the food was amazing. The breakfast was good with plenty of options.

We were really looking forward to our vacation and wanted to fall in love with this historic hotel. Unfortunately it was not a great experience. The view from the window and balcony was lovely - overlooking the rest of the property and the river. We also enjoyed the onsite Italian restaurant, Basilico. Our room had very outdated in radiator heating with a thermostat that could not be shut off (probably from the original build in the 80s?). On our second night we found that the heat was blowing full blast without a way to shut it off. Radiators were burning hot to the touch and anything else that close to them. We were asked by management to counter act the heat with the AC, which suggests that this was not the first time this happened and we were knowingly given this faulty room. The rest of the sleepless night was spent opening doors and windows and playing around with the AC. Early on Sunday morning there was a fire alarm which could not be heard inside the room. Only one of us woke up to what sounded like a faint ringer - it was one of those old bells like they had at school. It kept ringing for 25-30 minutes without any announcements or communication from hotel management. Outside of the hotel there was a lot of confusion, with some guests fully dressed outside while others stayed in their rooms. The fact that there is no fire alarm sounding inside the room is very worrying and we will be contacting the local fire inspection authority.

Overalla nice place to stay but needs work to rate any higher. The good - location is excellent. Lots of free parking and walking distance to 'Falls' and downtown Needs work - service in Basilico was friendly but slow! Only 3 tables on the patio were occupied and there were 2 servers but took over 15 minutes to get our drinks Surrounding tables were not cleared and garbage and cleaning supplies were out in the open. Did not eat so cannot comment on the food. However, as someone in the culinary industry it leads me to question if this is how they keep the outside, what does the kitchen look like. Rooms were comfortable but in need of painting. Lots of paint chips on the walls. Bathroom is small and water temperature fluctuates during the showers. Be warned..starts ideal then freezing to scalding and back to ideal

We had an amazing stay at this hotel. We did not know it was haunted when we booked and the staff there spent a lot of time talking with us about the history and ghost experiences that guests have had there. We can’t say enough about how great the staff were at the hotel. We had a view of the water and it was fantastic.
