We loved the location and the homey feeling, but certain things like the bath tub and door jambs/ moulding were old and soiled. They tried to make the bed comfortable with a pillow topper that we continually had to readjust during the night. So sleep was sporadic. The heat was so basic without an actual thermostat. We were either too hot or too cold. We couldn’t set a specific temperature. Breakfast was fine. There was really nothing left by 9 am so go early which is hard if you don’t sleep. Coffee was good and there were waffles. Who doesn’t like waffles? The check in staff was nice. But the cleaning staff came between us going to breakfast and when we left. We had to use the bathroom, not cool. We even still had food in the room. It wasnt cool not having a private restroom after breakfast with a modicum of privacy. The best part was the Amish ploughing the fields across the street and the restaurant next door is a gem. I’ve paid this price for cleaner facilities and basic amenities. Holiday Inn express next door will be our next booking in the area.

We had a wedding nearby so we only needed a place to sleep. It was ok. Had an issue with card key, but they came right to the room to help. The only other thing is that there was a wet towel hanging on the hook in the bathroom when we checked in. One other thing was it kept looking the like toilet was going to over flow every time you flushed it. That was a little nerve racking. Breakfast was good. Coffee was good too.

Hotel.com charged my card $1 hold for the reservation. No problem there. The Clarion then charged me a hold of $160 again, no problem. But when we got to the hotel, they charged me the full $320 but the holds wont drop off for another 2 days. We got to the hotel at 11:35pm so all of us were exhausted. We went right to sleep. The mattresses were not comfortable at all, very old and we know this bc the sheets got pulled off during the night from all the restless sleep. We also saw a huge patch of mold in the top corner of the bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was also very bare minimum and the sausage, eggs, and potatoes were bland and dry and overcooked. Breakfast opened at 7am, we got there at 730am. Luckily we didn't spend much time in the room. Only really there to sleep. Parking is hit or miss, not too far a walk from the lot to the room. I had great hopes for this Inn bc of its historic qualities, but unfortunately we will not be staying there again.

Pros: The bed and pillows were comfortable. Overall, the property was quiet and peaceful. Breakfast items were fine, although it would have been nice to see some fruit.
Cons: The hotel is in need of a makeover, badly. 1) The room was dirty in several spots: the wall near the waste basket, the baseboards, and corners. It seems like these items get overlooked. 2) The paint job in the room is poorly done; it is unprofessional and sloppy. 3) The carpet looks old and unclean; it needs to be replaced. 4) The furniture, specifically the bed frame and the framed picture , is a bit outdated. The picture is placed oddly on the wall. I wouldn’t mind the antique furniture if the rest of the room was clean and spotless, but this wasn’t the case. (The dresser is a bit worn, although it was nice). 5) The bathroom needs to be properly painted and updated. There is no vent. 6) The continental breakfast area, specifically the sun room, needs to be cleaned more. The windows were worn; (one could barely see through it); and the paint job looks bad. Again, it’s unprofessional. Other common areas, such as the staircase and the hotel exterior need to be cleaned and washed.
I have been to motels that have looked better and were priced much lower. Having spent $170 plus tax ($188 total) on a one night stay on Saturday, we expected much more.

The facility really was very outdated and in need of an extreme renovation. The room had peeling paint,a gross tub/shower combo and very worn out and mismatched furniture wooded blinds didn’t even close. Bathroom sinks were moldy in drain areas. Mini fridge was gross. Everything needed a good solid cleaning. We checked out after one night. We had a wedding so had to stay for that.

While the staff was super nice and the outside of the hotel (minus the kids toys outside with overgrown grass) the room was ok at best. It smelled quite dusty- and there was cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. The biggest problem was the shower. THERE WAS BLACK MOLD AND WATER ICK ON THE SHOWER HEAD AND AROUND THE TUB!!! I told the front staff and he said he would send someone “right away” to fix it. The bed was by far the WORST and hardest bed I’ve slept in in a LONG time. It was so uncomfortable. The room size was nice. The breakfast was not very appealing and the “sun room” it was served in was so hot it was uncomfortable. Will not stay again.

It was clean. Considered historic, not real modern. No elevator so we had to walk up 3 turns of stairs to get to the 2nd floor with luggage.

The hotel is old and needs major renovation. It was ok for a stay But it does not compare to any of the surrounding hotels for the high price we paid.

The room smelled of mold which was on the shower curtain and shower walls. Rug was disgusting. Hallway rug had 2 large stains. Outside of building had run down appearance. Would not recommend anyone to stay at this hotel.

The staff were amazing and very helpful.
Landscaping was nice.
Convenient we could bring our dog
Carpet was a bit tattered/torn as we entered our room and corners of a couple pieces of furniture were torn up a bit otherwise beds were clean as were linens, towels and bathroom.
Not a fan of the amount of traffic in the parking lot visiting people who appear to be living in one of the buildings. Between the frequent in and out, weed being smoked at same are and there ending up being a bunch of broken glass in the lower lot the second day it was not the safest feeling per se.

Stayed here many times over the years, rooms are always clean and staff helpful. Plenty of yard area to walk my dog and the gazebos to sit and enjoy the view. Breakfast is very good with a nice variety to choose from.

First, there are no elevators...even though it is a two floor inn. For those unable to do steps this creates an uncomfortable experience.
Our room had a broken floor lamp, the one chair is old and very uncomfortable.
The bathroom are outdated. It has a tub rather than a walk in shower...making those who have an ambulatory health situation struggle to take a shower.
The breakfast is so-so at best. Three days in a row the staff failed to refill the eggs, potato, and sausage bins...leaving the food to be cold and tasteless...even when asked to refill the bins. On the last say of our stay we went to a restaurant
We have stayed aymt Choice Hotels a number of times...with wonderful experiences. Choice Hotels need to put mobey into this place to freshen up the interior.
Also the wevsite needs to tmlet future customerd know that it is not accessible or those with physical disabilities of any kind, specially stairs.

I had sprained/strained my foot before traveling, so really appreciated the "handicap" room I was given! Happy to see the breakfast room is open once again, as well.
