It was a fun space in a grand old building. There were a few problems after check in: the "new" toilet seats are the cheap plastic kind that shift & move & fall apart. We had to be given another room since the toilet seat in our first room would not tighten back up. The towel warmer in the next room never did come on, no matter how many times we pressed the button, but having a warmer was not a deal-breaker. The staff was fabulous, Chloe did a great job helping us with a freezer for our cold items we were traveling with, and assisting in getting us another room right away. The city itself is horrid; just as bad as Seattle. Parking was only on the street, and you had to drive around to get one. You had to pay in two-hour increments, but at least parking was free from 7pm to 8am, IF you could find any!

Absolutely loved my stay here. It was comfortable, quiet, and the staff was so so friendly (shout out to Noemi). I will definitely be staying here again for all my business needs in the Portland area!

I liked that it was in a historic area of Portland. Beds were super comfy. Hated the lack of amenities. No pool, no hot tub, no kitchenette or fridge. Neighborhood is not ritzy at all.

This is a charming boutique hotel close to everything that makes Portland a special place to visit. The staff is friendly, and the workout space is amazing.

Would of gave this property a higher rating, however there was a lot of hair on the drain of out shower. We attempted early check in and the front desk attended automatically said no, without checking. I understand it’s not always possible, however I felt there was not even an attempt.

I’m not familiar with the city, but the hotel seems to border an area where a large population of unhoused persons congregate; when I say border, I mean, the street the runs directly adjacent. I work with the homeless and underserved population in my hometown. I am not afraid of mental illness, addiction, homelessness - I am also not naive to many of the risks associated with these social and health issues. If you are staying here, you should be aware - certainly businesses take note - their doors are locked with signage. It’s not that I would avoid this area, you just need to understand your surroundings.
The hotel and room were lovely. I loved the bathrooms - showers were great. I was a little disappointed my towel warmer didn’t work, but I also wasn’t expecting one so it wasn’t a huge loss. The room was clean when we arrived. Housekeeping did not come in the first day, despite us being out of the room early and the second day, they did a mediocre job; I have no idea if that’s a staffing issue or a reflection of housekeeping so I make no assertions about where fault lies. Front desk staff were pleasant - seems like they should have two ppl at all time, but maybe that’s just a personal bias.
Overall, pretty hotel, but I would probably look elsewhere in the future - even if I pay more.

We enjoyed our stay for the price! We loved how huge the bathroom and shower were.
However, when we checked in, we found broken glass in the carpet and in the bathroom: thank goodness we found it before stepping on it. We called downstairs and they came up immediately to clean it up. It just seems like they were incredibly understaffed: there were only 3 employees trying their best to hold the place together, so I can’t fault them.

The Harlow is an old hotel (1880's?) that has been very nicely redone. Very friendly staff, but not many of them (the front desk person also staffs the cafe). My check-in was delayed in between shift changes. The hotel is close to public transportation, which made getting around easy. Quirky neighborhood, but there are a lot of homeless camping around the property.

Hotel is absolutely clean and staff are friendly. Only concern was the safety in this area nearby Union station at midnight, which I didn't care about it. Other than that, it's commutable to go to downtown Portland by 15-min walking or way up to Seattle or Vancouver by Amtrak.

This hotel has a lot of history that was interesting to learn. It has a cafe coffee shop/ bar that's open 24 hours and all the pastries are home made and delicious. It is on the edge of the Pearl district.

The hotel is great for a budget stay. The bathroom was definitely the nicest part. I appreciate that the building is secure. The staff were nice and the free beer at happy hour was a plus.

Absolutely love this boutique hotel. It was perfect for my weekend stay. The area unfortunately like much of Portland is riddled with vagrants and addicts which makes getting to and from the property uneasy and a very smelly ordeal.

I felt like the area the hotel is in feels a little unsafe, there were people who looked disheveled outside yelling.
But the hotel is secured which made me feel safe inside.
The staff was helpful and kind and the hotel was clean and comfy.
My husband and I enjoyed our stay for our anniversary!
