This is a very old property and has not been updated since the 80's I am sure. The bedding was extremely old and torn.
There was people who were using the green space in the back who were fighting a lot. The reception area smelled of wet dog and cigarettes.

Super filthy, smelly, the linens are not changed daily, dirty washrooms. By far the worst place I have ever stayed in.

Pool was not available.
Property in disrepair.
Lobby untidy and smelly.
Limited availability of staff.
No control over temperature.
No curtains to block light over small windows.
Neighbourhood sketchy feeling.

Unfortunatly this motel continues to decline. Rooms are very dated, furniture & fixtures old. However bed was comfortable. Has mini fridge & microwave. Most of the rooms are rented on a monthly basis on ground level so you will have to climb some stairs. Close to food/restaurants. fairly noisy area, bring ear plugs. Not the best part of town but priced accordingly.Lower grounds fenced off for the long term tenants with no access to pool,( which was empty anyways.)

Many bugs found in the room. Bathroom wasn't clean. Found mouse sh*t on the hand towel.

Room is not clean. No Pool at what mentioned in the website. Washroom is clogged.

Weird place. The pictures don't show the real condition of the place. Very damage, dirty, and you feel unsafe.

this was the worst place i have ever been to. dirty, smelly, run down. I could not believe it was on your website. you need to remove it, I fused to stay.

We did not stay we checked out immediately after seeing the room there was intense water mold and an acrid smell that made me want to comet I don’t recommend staying here under any circumstances

Discussing property didn't stay the night had to find somewhere else to stay

Brick wall cracked from top to bottom and graffiti on the wall inside the room. Wood panel with tarp for a curtain in front of patio door. Rusted out bathtub. Ancient TV. Room smelled of smoke. Broken glass patio door.

This place should be torn down. Absolutely filthy. Pool doesn’t work, hot tub doesn’t work. Everything is falling apart.

Stay away. The photos used by Expedia are deceiving and do not accurately represent its actual condition.
The property is run down. The lobby has a strong ammonia / urine smell, the parking lot is a dumping ground for decommissioned cars / campers, the rooms could use some serious TLC (peeling / water damaged stucco ceiling) and the pool is non-operational.
Luckily I got a refund within 10 minutes of checking in and found a room at the Days INN for the same cost.

When checking in there was such a stench in the lobby. The parking lot looks like a vehicle dump. The stairs to room were rickety the mattress bed qas severely stained

Iiked the Tiki theme but the place has to be spruced up a lot and cleaner

This is a true example of false advertising. The photos on the web are nothing like this run down property. Expedia you should take this motel off your site. Please take time to review previous reviews.

Cool concept, maybe a great place to stay once upon a time, not anymore. Lobby reaks of animals and ammonia. Small children and dogs running around in the parking lot. Ghetto.

You can smell the lobby from the road. It smells like cat urine. Parking lot it little RS with destroyed campers and motors, garbage piled on balconies, they say the rooms have been renovated, nope, at least not in the last 20 years and if they were I’d hate to see what they looked like before. Absolutely no pool, looks like it been gone for a while but they fail to mention that

Wow...so dirty! So very dated and smelly! Not very good at all here. Their outside sign says the gem of the valley! But more appropriately is maybe to call it the "germ" of the valley I think.

The main office was the worst place I've been in so far. The smell of urine burned my nose. The staff was kind.
The room was clean enough but definitely still needed work.

If you like the smell of cat piss and don’t mind that the lights or AC don’t work, then this is the place for you!
2.0
Smelly, lights are unusable, staff are nice, homeless surroundings
6.0
Older motel in need of renovations.

The service was friendly and the room was clean. However, this is an old motel, so as long as cracks in the tiles, a constantly dripping faucet, and a box TV don’t bother you, you will like it here alright. Definitely could use some updating!

Value for money, cleaniness

Super friendly staffs and great backyard property for the kids and dog to run around. It could get a new paint job to freshen up the place but, overall I am pleased with the competitive cost compared to others around the area.

The place is fine overall. AC was great in the 34 degree weather… very loud but fine. When we checked in, I was told the pool was being condemned by a certain date and I asked why and was told it needed upgrading. Super unprofessional in telling me I thought. Went to the pool and one side had not been cleaned on the bottom - it was all dark and grungy and no one had skimmed the top so lots of dead bugs were floating. Inside, we had all that you typically get however there were no coffee cups for the coffee we made in the morning - called over but no one ever came to deliver the cups. Overall the place was just fine for a one night stay - the price was right and it was centrally located.

Have made stays at this property for decades, historically it’s been a little gem.
Management is extremely friendly and accommodating ( not certain if they are the owners as well), however the buildings and grounds are deplorable. The beautiful garden area is overgrown, lawn uncut, old furniture about. There are tarps on the roof, mattress outside… so disappointing. My room reaked of mould, which I would later discover enough of it growing on the bathroom wall that it could be scraped off. There was a stained white towel on the sink counter, but overall the room was relatively clean - for the price and a single night sleep. With the most sincerity I hope the owner is able to make the necessary improvements and maintenance to bring the place back up to the little beauty it once was.

The good: Well, staff owners were super friendly. My dogs enjoyed to run in courtyard freely. Now the bad: pipes leak from bathroom above. So mould coming in ceiling. Coffe pot did not work, did not have replacement. My sliding glass door cracked. I noticed pretty much all ground floor ones cracked. Tv worked sketchy. Stayed 3 days. Never got clean towels , asked once if i want garbage changed......i was left with new garbage bags, and same garbage.

Upon check in the staff was very friendly and sweet. They asked several times if we had everything we needed and wanted to make sure we knew how to find them if needed. However, the room was very dated and there were many small things that could be done to make them more appealing. There are many nail holes and screw holes in the walls and ceiling, the grout/caulking in the bathroom was peeling, you can see where walls had been repainted and repaired very poorly with the old paint or drywall showing through, etc.
The bathroom was not properly clean. There was a dirty towel hanging on the towel rack and a lot of hair on the floor.
I could have gotten past the repairs and “old fashioned” room if things had been clean. We knew we had booked a discount hotel, but there is no excuse for dirty towels in the room.
Overall, the beds we’re comfortable, AC and TV worked, and it was a place to lay our heads for a night while passing through. We probably won’t be rushing to book again anytime soon.

Inexpensive and super pet friendly, exactly what I was looking for! If you’re looking for the Ritz, don’t stay here. It is an older place that needs renovating. Lots of it! But the bed was clean and comfortable so the other details didn’t matter to me. It’s very central, you can walk to restaurants and shops. 10 -20 min drive to very nice beaches. If you are more into saving money than staying into a fancy hotel, this place should work for you.

The property was okay. The room was okay but it really needs some elbow grease. Patch and paint the walls and ceiling. Update the bathrooms. Get better lighting. Pool was nice but needs a good cleaning. Property in general needs some upgrading. Lots of homeless people around the property but they were not a bother. This could be a great property with a little work.

Well, let’s put it this way, the door did not close all the way proper, but was lockable, the room was not clean ( spider webs), when we wanted to take a shower in the morning, the tap fell apart, water all over the place, so no shower, so would we go back, nope.

Josephine was great . The hotel is little old. Our family had a good night’s sleep. It’s good for stay and go type. Worth the money. Surprised to have all amenities like microwave oven, coffee maker, hair dryer, small fridge, clean towels, soap, shampoo, and body lotion.

I was happy to get anywhere to stay on short notice within my budget when Air BnB cancelled my booking 3 weeks before my trip.
Big room.
A/C worked pretty well.
Manager was excellent.

The room smelt like smoke when we walked in. It was so strong and overpowering. Room condition is so poor and dingy especially the bathroom. Will not stay again in this hotel. The pictures of the room in the website is way far from its actual appearance. The facilities are all old.

The entire property was far past its prime. Photos do not accurately depict the tragic condition. There's no remaining 'Polynesian love' left on the property.
1. The pool - had green sludge in it, the only railing into the pool was NOT anchored at both ends, there were no towels provided and the safety gate was broken. Any frail person leaning on this railing is doomed. Everything regarding the pool was NOT working.
2. The room - sliding door had cracked glass and holes in it. There were cobwebs on the walls and ceiling. Coffee pot was filthy. Air conditioner leaked onto the floor. The air conditioner was not able to cool the room. The porch light couldn't be turned off, was super bright and shone thru the room windows. Holes in the ceiling. Extensive damage to the paint and condition of the walls. 2 of the beds had lots of human hair on them when we checked in and one set of sheets had numerous cigarette burns in it.
3. In general - tiles, roofing material and broken beds were strewn beside walkways.

My only complaint is that there were no blankets. We arrived back to the room after the office was closed and therefore I could not get a blanket, I was a bit chilly.

Not for families or business travellers. Run down.
