Lovely property. We like trying unique places to eat and shop. We only found 1 good restaurant. We like walking to these. The area close by was pretty shabby.

Cute place for an evening layover on our road trip. Would stay here again.

Beautiful old building. Across the street from a beautiful park. Unfortunately our guest room was in a second building which is also used as condos. Not so majestic, very noisy with street noise and frequent ambulances even from the 6th floor. No black out shades combined for a very poor sleeping environment.

This is a magnificent use of two old buildings. Location right on Washington Park (a gem of an urban park) is wonderful. Staff is very friendly.

Like going back in time, but beautifully updated and equipped for our needs today. The owner Chuck, was wonderful. I recommend contacting him directly as opposed to going through a site.

Our stay at the Morgan State House was absolutely delightful! Chuck was amazing, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment throughout our visit. The rooms were not only comfortable and clean but also brimming with fun personality that made our stay truly unique.
Chuck's hospitality was top-notch, and the breakfast offered each morning was simply wonderful. It’s rare to find a bed and breakfast that offers all the amenities of a branded hotel, but Morgan State House manages to do just that, making it a special and memorable experience.
The location is perfect, nestled close to dining options and charming shops. We loved being next to the park, where we enjoyed leisurely walks and even caught some live music in the park.
Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better stay. 10/10 – we can’t wait to come back!

Overall our stay, though only one night was great, from front desk experience to checkout. The place is lovely, clean and well kept. And the muffins were delish. We'd go back again.

Love that this is a historic building; our room was actually a suite with small eat-in kitchen. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

After struggling to find the place (there are no signs..probably not allowed I assume), I entered the non descript building to find a lovely home. Welcomed and provided with keys and location to parking lot around the corner. My room was in "the annex" a few doors down. We took the elevator to the eight floor and I was reminded of old hotels I stayed in back in the 60's; long hallway, old fashioned door handles and locks, but when entering the room, I found a neat and roomy and clean space, with a small cook top, coffee machine, refrigerator and a work nook. Bed was comfortable. Bathroom VERY small and old fashioned with cast iron tub and shower curtain but all worked fine. I did not make breakfast so unable to comment on that. Area is very nice, across from a beautiful park and a 15 minute walk to the Egg and the government center. Plenty of restaurants and safe. A few blocks off can get a bit spicey but I roamed that area too with no problems. As I was alone, it was great; fair price and I felt comfortable, although totally on my own. Not your typical B&B so if you are used to being coddled, probably not for you. But if you are looking for a clean and reasonable priced place in a very nice location, give this a try.
BTW, the wifi was lousy in the room. It seems it is meant for you to go to the lobby to use it.

The Morgan State House gave us a fabulous location for my medical school reunion. The property is beautiful & historic, and we were very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked such that our breakfast and modest lunch needs were covered while we worked on-line before the festivities. I would stay here again in the future!
