Astoria Palawan is one of a kind resort. Everything about the property was top notch. From the decadent breakfast to the Dinner buffet. The staff was so friendly and every request was fulfilled immediately. I’ll definitely go back.

The Astoria Palawan would have gotten five stars for welcoming and helping staff, the magnificent night lights all over the resort and for the great bright orange room accents. But I deducted two stars for customers service and a lack of “adult only” relaxing and swimming areas.
I found it bizarre that a resort with a private beach did not serve drinks or food at the beach. I had to go to a bar, order and wait 20 minutes for my drink to be bought over from the restaurant as the bar didn’t have Piña Colada ingredients.
There needs to be a designated “Adults Only” pool.
I was enjoying happy hour and a swim at the Pod from 4pm.
The tranquility was slowly interrupted to the point that I had to leave as there were over 20 (poorly supervised) children jumping into the pool (breaking a pool rule), splashing in my face and so many high pitched squealing voices.
The bikes were not supervised so there was no one to advise the seat on the bike. The bikes were all quite rusty and are in seperate need of a service. Also, regarding the bikes, you can only ride around the resort, which takes about 10 minutes. I wanted to explore outside the resort grounds but was stopped by a security guard.
The resort food is average, except the included buffet breakfast, which has a good variety of different cuisine choices, so eat up at breakfast time.
I highly recommend the Joshua Restaurant, in a triangular building, out side of the resort for amazing food and well priced drinks.

I love the resort concept, the pools, the water park, the breakfast buffet and the entertainment at night. The performers (fire dancers and singers) are all talented but I feel those talents should be showcased more. We could hardly see the performers from the restaurant; maybe a spotlight would have helped or maybe a TV monitor inside the restaurant. Also, the reception people at check in should inform the guests about activities guests can do while staying there, such as entertainment at night at specific time (we kept missing the fire dance because we kept being misinformed), night club ( we stayed for 4 nights and we didn’t know there was one until our last night), water park access and many other pieces of information guests should know at time of checkin.
All the staff are good, everyone gave excellent service.

Hotel itself is clean and staff respectful but it’s 1.5 hrs away from airport..the beach is disgusting with tampons and sewage water noted in the morning low tide. You are at the mercy of the hotels excursions due to increased transport needed to get to destinations. I.e. el nido is 4hrs each way and then factor in your excursion time. It’s a long day. Plus you need to wait til they have at least 6 passengers to book any excursion with them. It’s doable if you’re not on a budget. Breakfast buffet was great. Dinner buffet not so good. Pool is dirty water with sediment floating around. Basically a no go for anyone looking for beach and basking in the sun resort

Me and my wife had a wonderful stay at your resort in the end of Febrary. ❤️ We plannned to stay there for two nights, extended it to four, all the last nights of our fantastic stay in Palawan. Everything was perfect, the resort itself, the Staff, the Airport transport, only one hour and ten minutes, so even if the resort is a bit long distance from Puerto Princesa, 60 km, it's no problems to get to and from, either to visit town or reach a plane. 👍 Again, thank you for the wonderful stay together with your fantastic Staff, this was ultimate experience in Palawan. Greetings to all of you from Elvira and Erling Larsen ❤️👍😊😎

Everything was almost excellent, EXCEPT one staff in the check-in area who attended us didn’t make us feel welcome probably because we don’t look rich or fancy. She was like a robot who was just keep talking so fast without ensuring if I hear her with such a noisy environment. She was interacting with me like she doesn’t want me to ask any questions. She just want to send us right away to our room without ensuring if we understand all the things she said. How come this lady works in the front desk but has no passion on what she’s doing???
And it turns out she is the CS Team-leader.

The checkout process was too slow, there over 40 mins just waiting for them to clear me to leave premises. They said we had broken some “service request “ signage but didn’t wait for them to show it to me becuz already it Gad been long enough. Do we just paid for it without seeing and rushed out to catch plane, lost too much time waiting for the clearance.

Pros:
- nice rooms, the deluxe room is a bit bigger than the superior room and has a table for four persons. Fridge, safety deposit box and 2 queen sized beds. Our bathroom had a bath tub.
- decent food mostly for asian taste with a big choice of meals.
- excellent service and helpful staff.
- some indoor and outdoor activities like waterpark, golf, table tennis
Cons:
- there is only one big disadvantage why we probably will not return to Astoria: it was not allowed to swim at the beach during our whole stay! The reason which the guard told me: jellyfish. Actually i haven't seen any but that is not the point. There was no official information of the hotel why the beach is closed and how long it would take. The resort is about 1 hour drive away from Puerto Princesa. Astoria did not offer any alternatives for transportation to another beach. So we spent a lot of money and effort organizing transportation and beach activities for ourselves. I did not come to Palawan not for swimming in a pool! Calm sea, nice weather and swimming is not allowed. No information, no apologies, no alternative. That is a no-go for me.

My mother and I had a wonderful time at Astoria Palawan. We were warmly welcomed by the staff with a delicious coconut-based dessert and drink. Our room was spacious, clean, and the shower had strong water pressure. There were plenty of activities on the resort including but not limited to--karaoke, board games, kayaking, mini-golf, a water park, etc. We were only there for a couple of days, so we didn't have a chance to do everything. The food also was delicious. There was a wide variety of food including a traditional Western style and Filipino classics. All the staff members we met were super friendly. One particular staff member was Ivan Jimenez who went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and comfortable during our dinner. A pro and a con of this place is it's quite isolated from the city. It's great because it's quiet and peaceful, but if you wanted to go out and explore Puerto Princesa, then you would be a bit disappointed as it is about 1 hour away from town though you could easily arrange transportation with the staff. Overall, I had a great time and would consider staying here again.

A very nice peaceful and quiet place to stay. Excellent service and hospitality. If you want to relax in nature, this is for you. If you want action and crowds, really the only thing is the water park, and it’s very nice, too.
