The location of this property is excellent for walking to nearby shops, restaurants and the pier. The staff was very professional and helpful. They went above and beyond to help us get oriented to the area and to coordinate transportation. The services offered by the spa were wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and the property is maintained very clean. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice property, excesses our expectations. Great location. Comfortable room and beds. Shower was a bit strange as shower door only closed half way so water ended up all over bathroom floor unless you were very careful. Great breakfast buffet

My sister and I stayed here for 3 nights while exploring the Puerto Madryn area. The hotel is across the road from the water, close to a supermarket and about 10 ATMs (which is very handy given how often one won't have any cash left). We found any places we wanted to eat were all within walking distance which was great.
Their buffet breakfast was quite good with a pretty good variety of options. It is packed though between 6 and 7:30am due to everyone getting breakfast before their tours, so on days you don't have to be ready by 7:30 I'd suggest going after 7:30am.
The staff were ok, not super friendly but also not rude. Our room was quite spacious, as was the bathroom and very clean. The two main issues were: the heat and the shower. Our room was quite warm, when I tried to turn the AC on, it actually just blew even hotter air into the room, so that got switched off. In the end we had the window open on a permanent basis, which meant the room was a little noisy at times. The shower was fine space wise, but the nozzle was ridiculous, definitely the worst we came across on this trip, a handful of holes that just went everywhere.
Overall it was good (mainly due to location and cleanliness), and its hard to know if the other issues are tied to the Argentine economy issues so I would consider staying here again.

Was disappointed to find this "high end" hotel facing the beach did not have hot water for a shower (after three days on the Peninsula, we were feeling a bit in need of some clean). They had no excuses except that the hot water did not work. There was no way to adjust the temperature in the room (that was like a furnace) except to open the window to the noisy street outside.
I wouldn't mind if I were paying very little but to pay a good amount and not have basic amenities was disappointing.
No whales in sight by the way...

After debating the pros & cons of various hotels in Puerto Madryn, I settled on the Hotel Peninsula Valdés. I was very pleased with my choice. The room was simple but attractive and comfortable with a great sea view (I could see whales cavorting in the water, even at a distance.) The breakfasts were delicious and the food plentiful - I especially enjoyed the variety of Argentine pastries, the savoury items, and the "hot milk" dispenser for morning coffee. The restaurant fare was excellent as well. (On my first night, I enjoyed a delicious "ojo de bife" [rib eye, I think] and a salad made from arugula, tomatoes, and shaved Parmesan for a very reasonable price.) The Hotel is across the street from the beach and within walking distance of shops, restaurants, and many of the major tour providers. There is a spa on site as well. I'm a pretty straightforward, easy-to-please traveler, so the hotel might not be as deluxe as some would prefer. Nevertheless, I enjoyed my stay and found the staff to be helpful, warm, inviting, and highly professional. I would stay here again. Highly recommended.

The location is great and very safe! It's right across from the water and we were able to see whales every morning from our hotel room (we went in August). The staff was very nice and helpful with setting us up with a shuttle to the airport and with restaurant recommendations. There is an excursion place right next door that we used which was very convenient. The rooms are a little dated but that was expected and for some reason only the heat worked but we opened a window and were comfortable at night. The breakfast was good and it has a great view of the water. It is walking distant to many restaurants and tourist shops and a street over from the main shopping area.

Staff were courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet has a wide assortment of juices, breads, fruit and proteins. Back room was quiet. Wi-Fi is available and adequate. An in-house restaurant is available.

We came to Puerto Madryn with our children for a few days for site seeing. We had a double bed reserved and they upgraded us to two beds for free. We had an excellent ocean view from our room. The breakfast was excellent and had a lot to choose from. The service was excellent as well. We would definitely stay here again.
