Rain rain rain so pool was closed and grounds partially flooded. If warm sunny n dry would be very nice property. The staff was very accommodating to get hairdryer and hot pot to make coffee on room. Breakfast was very good, fruit, eggs, beans rice juice coffee toast.

The staff was very friendly. Accommodations were clean and the grounds well maintained. The pool was excellent. Location is within walking distance to the beach. I did rent a golf cart to visit other beaches that were a little further away. One of the best meals I had was at a roadside soda. All in all, highly recommend.

We absolutely loved this place! It's in a perfect location to visit all the local beaches, however, playa flamingo is the nicest beach nearby. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. A Tico breakfast is served daily outside under the covered dining area. The pool is spotless and big! If you are expecting a luxury room, go elsewhere. If you are seasoned travelers on a budget that are looking for a clean, comfortable room with great water pressure in the shower, this is the place for you. It is very safe with a gated fence for added security. We highly recommend it!

This community of small Villas was perfect for our stay. The grounds were beautiful and the staff were very helpful and kind. The location was very convenient, being next to a supermarket and a 10 minute walk from the local beach. The rooms are not luxury, but nice for this price and they have everything you need. We had a problem with our AC unit on the first night, but the staff was quick to offer us a new room while it was being repaired. The breakfast was traditional Costa Rican rice/beans/eggs and fresh fruit. Our favorite part was the friendly kitten who hung around the property.

Nice place to visit beaches in that area

Excellent for the price, but there is the same breakfast every day and it is slightly further from the beach than what I originally believed.

The proprietor of Guanacaste Lodge is amazing! She absolutely made us feel the love and kindness that Costa Rica is known for. We stayed on our first night and first visit to the country and could not have been more pleased. Don't let the parking and construction sway you. The property is clean and rooms very comfortable!

Beautiful and well maintained grounds. Walkable to a WONDERFUL taco and sushi shop down the road and a convenience store next door. We drove to local beaches and restaurants in the nearby towns. We had an issue with hundreds of ants on the wall - not sure where they were getting in from? Staff was great and we were quickly moved to another available room. Best included breakfast we'd had on our trip!

This hotel has a quaint and comfortable feel. The staff were very kind and the atmosphere was friendly and had a nice family vibe. The pool was well maintained and the breakfast was perfect. We did wish there was a blanket on our beds as they were made up with only a sheet set. Otherwise it was a very pleasant stay!

My wife and I usually "go big" when we are on vacation. Instead, this time we wanted to stay at a place that is operated and visited by the locals. While it did not have all the amenities of a resort or hotel, it was very peaceful and the management and staff were very kind, gracious and helpful. The second night of our stay my wife had a minor medical emergency. Being unfamiliar with the area and having poor Spanish speaking skills, I wasn't sure what could be done. The lodge management jumped into action by contacting transportation and a urgent care clinic, where my wife received the care she needed. They waited up for us to return in the middle of the night as the were truly concerned about our situation. Not only did the Lodge management and staff save our vacation, they continued to go above and beyond expectations for the remainder of the week. Thank You Guanacaste Lodge!

The owner and her family were very sweet and accommodating. We missed breakfast one morning as we woke up late but they happily brought my son juice and toast. Good facility, the pool was very nice. The place is literally next door to a supermarket which was very convenient and an Italian restaurant that was nice and delicious. A very easy stay in a nice little town and the owners were very attentive and friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
