I chose this hotel primarily because it had a "Wonderful" rating and it is very close to where my colleague and I had business meetings. We did not want to have to walk a far distance with all of computers and speaker. First, I not consider this hotel wonderful, at all even though the front desk staff was extremely accommodating. I asked to change my room because the noise of the traffic in front of the hotel loud most of the evening and into the night. The staff happily arranged that so my third night was quiet. Granted, I have very acute hearing so I wear earplugs because I know that. IMO, the breakfast and breakfast room were not great at all. The room is dark and food was mediocre with few choices. The eggs, "bacon," sausage (?) was essentially in another room, and the bread, confiture, cheese, fruit and beverage machine in another. The fruit salad was soggy as if it had sat overnight, the orange juice spoiled. The fromage blanc was delicious which I think they make on site. If I were ever to return to Marseille I would not go to this hotel again, sadly. Not up to par to the last hotel where I stayed closer to the port.

The hotel ia located right opposite to Gare Saint Charles train and metro station. A pleasant walk of 16 mins to the old port. Surrounding area is a bit dodge but doesn’t feel unsafe even walking alone at night. Breakfast is good.

Hotel was conveniently located by the train station in Marseille, which meant using the shuttle service from Marseille airport to the train station made it the hotel very accessible door-to-door.
It is a short walk to both the port and Le Panier, two great areas of Marseille.
The hotel staff were extremely accommodating and were always on hand to assist. I would definitely stay at the Alex again if I return to Marseille in the future.

Perfectly nice hotel - lovely staff very warm welcome, very clean and suite was very specious. Breakfast is very limited and not replenished. 2 female travellers and felt the area around the hotel was not the best. Not the hotels fault just personal feelings.

Although this was right by the train station, meaning the location wasn’t amazing. It was also very easy to get to and the property itself was clean air conditioned. The staff was friendly and it was super cute! I would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed a couple of nights at this oasis of a hotel in the heart of Marseille. On arrival, just across from the train station, we were warmly welcomed by Xander who went above and beyond to make us feel at ease and show us to our room. We had a large family room with comfortable beds which was very clean, modern and quiet. We loved the courtyard area and had breakfast at the hotel which was great - plenty of choice and fresh waffles were made for my teens when requested! The hotel is in a convenient location for accessing the train station and is a short walk to the port area. Overall we would highly recommend this hotel.

Fabulous little hotel across from Ste Charles train station. The area around is okay. The hotel is clean and quiet. We had a room for 4 which worked well. One quirk, the toilet was in one part of the room and the sink/shower at the other end. Air conditioning was perfect for the hot weather. Breakfast was a little pricey but there were lots of options: pastry, bacon and eggs. There’s a patisserie two doors up. Front desk staff were extremely helpful. Highly recommend this hotel.

Short stopover in hectic Marseille, in this tiny, quite ok hotel close to the Marseille St. Charles railway station. Disappointing that the sales add says ‘spa’ and that this cost another €60, that’s kind of bad advertising. Friendly staff.

When I arrived there was a couple who had all of their stuff stolen from their room. They charge you $35 to use the spa so this really isn't a spa hotel. It's just a hotel and it's near the train station, so whatever you expect you should lower your expectations dramatically.

We loved our stay here! The rooms were nice, the area was convenient (right next to the train station and a short walk from the old port) and the inner courtyard was lovely. Would definitely stay here again. FYI - the spa is extra and you need to book in advance.

The hotel was great and the staff very friendly. There is a restaurant right next to it which makes it very convenient if you are hungry at anytime. It is open 24/7. I did not like how dirty it was outside the property, however, I am not sure if the property can do anything about it. Overall, the hotel was very nice. They do have amenities that I would have liked to have used but they do charge extra for everyone of them. That would have made the stay way too expensive. Same with laundry, they charge way too much so I had to find a laundry facility to do our laundry.

Nice and modern small hotel, with a lovely little lounge and very convienient parking right outside the hotel. The breakfast was very small and the trainingroom is also not really inspiring. Service excellent and very easy to find driving from the north/airport. Modern rooms with no-hassle wifi and streaming. That's very nice,

The hotel and staff are amazing. If you want a place to stay for a night close to the St Charles station, honestly this is it. Amazing staff and amenities.
The area around it sucks. No good restaurants, and overall Marseille is a horrible city. Unsafe and extremely dirty.
