We took one look at the room and the hotel and decided not to stay. It looked unsafe, not very clean and lobby wasn't finished. No one was on property to help us so we forfeited our money and left. The pictures on the internet made it look much nicer than it is.

My husband and I went for an anniversary.... For the price we paid, it was a very nice hotel. We were never.
Able to access the lobby.Arcode never worked. We had to leave a day early to get back to the kids because of the hurricane but overall it was a decent hotel

Don’t let the photos deceive you, this place is horrible. The customer service is even worse. They have attempted to update the property but whoever was doing the work must be 12 years old from the looks of it. The outside of the property is horrible and looks like a pay by the hour establishment. Bathtub in the room was disgusting along with the towels and washcloths they gave you to use. The towels I use on my car are better than the things they give you to use. Tv didn’t work and we called to get help and were told that someone would call us back but never heard a word from anyone. The cleaning people tried to come in before checkout and then an hour after checkout we received a call asking if we were extending our stay because the maid was unable to get in our room. TERRIBLE customer service. Overall disgusting hotel that I would never recommend to anyone.

Very nice stay at the Mallard! It was a last minute pick because our Airbnb cabin wasn’t going to be ready due to no power. For the cost I was very pleased! The rooms had been updated and looked really cute but mostly the bed and pillows were amazing!! We had a great rest that night! What was different and strange is that there was not an employee on property…….. sign outside the office says check your email for room and key code! Weird! Our code work first try so we had to go back and get phone number to get new code and were helped quickly.

This is a motel, not a hotel. The rooms have been updated, but they used a very cheap contractor and it shows everywhere. There was less than half a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom when i arrived. I Stripped the bed down to check for critters, it appeared to be clean, it had a full mattress protector, never the less my wife woke up covered in bites. Gaps under the door and the doors look like someone has tried to break into the room. I couldn't tell you anything about the staff because we literally didn't see anyone while we were there. Waste of $220. Do yourself a favor and drive 20-30 minutes to Blueridge GA and get a better quality room for the same price.

Kind of "motel" looking on the outside, but dont judge a book by its cover!! The room was super clean and cozy and had everything we needed! Highly highly recommend. We'll definitely be staying again if we're around the area.

Pros: Convenient location, friendly staff, comfortable beds, newer amenities in rooms, recently remodeled.
Cons: Not a real breakfast, more like a few packaged snacks, walls are thin, television service/wi-fi was poor, low signal.

Disappointed big time, it looked and was nothing like the listing on hotels.com. Room had a horrible smell due to swamp cooler ac unit. TV Remote broken also. Just very disappointing and it was located in a remote area of town, with no front desk and self-check in made the whole experience even more sketchy. Felt like an abandoned motel 6, that they slapped some new paint on to reopen for business. Would like a refund.

This property has potential for being a great stay for good value. I can see what the owners/managers are attempting to do, they just aren’t there yet. The motel is a renovation and the concept is great with the stylized design and some of the neat details (fire pit area, individual welcome boards in the rooms, free access to laundry machines). There was no attendant onsite which is fine if everything goes as planned. A problem for us as the room we were issued with door code was dirty (bed not made, towel on floor, garbage in can). We called the customer service number for the hotel and were given another room to move to. The 2nd room had a marker box spilled all over the floor and a mop in it. We were told by customer service to try a different room and he gave us the door code for that….so we carted our luggage to that room, opened the door while feeling worried we might open to an occupied room, and that room was also uncleaned from previous occupant. Bed not made, used coffee cups on counter, garbage in cans. While the phone rep apologized, he asked us to try another room on a different floor. This time I was frustrated from moving large luggage back and forth, nervous that I was going to open an occupied room, and was close to giving up on this hotel and demanding a refund. I tried the next room. Finally found clean room! All night was worried about other guests entering our room and cleaning staff did accidentally open our door the next morning thinking it was empty.
