Beautifully restored building, friendly staff, horrible location - nowhere near UGA campus, downtown Athens, and no shuttle service! Came up for UGA/GT game. Waited an hour+ for Uber/Lyft as you can’t walk to this property (shady AF area) and it hasn’t dawned on the brilliant owners to offer a shuttle service!! Also, train tracks right outside window w/ train AT 1:30 AM!! Think My Cousin Vinny scene! Not coming back!

There is no privacy for 2 men while the bathroom has a glass door and the curtain is see thriving through

Great place to stay. Nice folks.

I really enjoyed my stay as I attended an education conference! The room was great, everyone was super friendly, and I felt very safe as a solo female traveler. They even offered earplugs as the room was near railroad tracks. The reuse of the old mill as a hotel made it a unique place to stay. Other than the parking situation for anyone who doesn’t wish to use valet services and the entrance that wasn’t completely obvious, at least to me, I would definitely stay here again.

New and nice. No complaints, wish we could have had a longer stay, next time.

Very nice place. Reminded me alot of a boutique hotel in Austin,TX called ARRIVE. My daughter and i booked this hotel to get away from the hurricane. The hostess and staff were amazing. Only issue i had was the ant infestation. Next to the coffee and condiments, was an ant trail that quickly started circling my coffee cup and sugar station in the area next to the bed. Be sure to check that area carefully as soon as you check in. I would think this being a luxury hotel there would be a complimentary stay or refund. There was no refund offered but the hostess gave us a complimentary coffee and donut and was very apologetic.

Very expensive for a small room. No water in the room. No breakfast available. Way overpriced

The Rivet House is simply amazing. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and yet modern and chic. The bar and restaurant was fabulous and the wait staff, bartenders and hostess provided an elevated experience. The brick oven pizzas are where it's at! The crafted cocktails offered some originality as well. I felt very at home there. The only issue I experienced was the overnight Train traffic. The first night, was manageable but the second night was unbearable as I did not get any sleep. Fix this problem and the Rivet House would be 11/10.

We enjoyed our stay, rooms on small side, there is train active that runs all night but service and food AMAZING!

It was amazing, room was exceptional, the only thing I didn't like was that you couldn't self park your own car, you had to use the valet parking which cost $25.00 or park yourself where you couldn't see your car.n

Brand new facility with an immediate cool scene. Osteria Olio is a fantastic restaurant.

very cool vibe. Beautifully renovated building with all of the features you would want in a boutique hotel. Train running by at odd hours might throw some people off, but we felt it added to the authentic modernized industrial feel of the complex. Bar was amazing. Restaurant looked amazing though we didn't have time to eat.

The room was very small, though well-appointed. Not much space to navigate around the bed. Shower stall was very small. Just enough space to turn around. TV service did not work despite a call to the front desk to send up a maintenance worker. If you stay here, ask for a room on the front side of the building. Back side is next to active railroad tracks. We stayed one night; suspect a longer stay may be a bit challenging, especially if you want to relax in your room.

I arrived at night and it was difficult to figure out where to go. I valet parked at a whopping $26 rather than walk in the dark alone from parking area. Room was beautiful, very spacious and very comfortable. Hotel is not downtown but they only serve breakfast at the weekend, only have a coffee stand available during the week. We ate dinner at the restaurant on site Osteria Olio which was top class, definitely recommend. Could do with a few umbrellas so people can use the beautiful outdoor sitting area. Overall would recommend.

This property is beautiful, but clearly a case of form over function. The design is excellent, but awkward. There is no door to the bathroom and really no partition at all. There is a sheer curtain that pulls across. Really useless. So staying with a family is just out of the question. Sooooo awkward with a teenage girl and her parents! What is the point of an open concept bathroom here? There is none. It is so loud if someone used the bathroom at night and just a silly choice. Unless they rectify the bathroom situation, we will not be staying there again. The refrigerator is in the closet and the bar is too short for a dress and would rub against any food on top of the refrigerator. Again, just silly and impractical. Also the curtains do not close all the way! These issues are so easy to fix so maybe the hotel will realize that these quirks make the room uncomfortable.
That said, the restaurant is excellent! Everything was very good. We are from New York City so we are familiar with good food and this was very nice.

The renovation of this former denim factory is beautiful and architecturally fascinating. However, the actual rooms were designed for a magazine spread, and not for actual people to stay in - electrical outlets mysteriously placed (hidden) and lack of privacy in bathroom area.
The staff is friendly, enthusiastic and incredibly helpful. Five stars for Hailey and Caitlin at the front desk and the Manager whose name I did not get.
Our server Marina in the restaurant was top-notch.
Now to the criticisms - the hotel has only one elevator that operates at glacial speed. And there are no ice machines on any floor. A trip downstairs to the bar (taking your ice bucket) is the only way to get ice for the room. Puzzling and inconvenient.
Valet parking is expensive ($25/day) and required.

Unique property of an old jeans manufacturing plant. Beautiful, Euro-style facility. Realizing they have only been open less than a week, there are a lot of things that need fixing. TV was hooked up wrong and no maintenance person on staff to fix it; turned on coffee maker and it blew a fuse; tried to charge me tax on top of the bill from Expedia and waited 15 minutes for manager to show front desk how to bypass it. Then was still charged and had to call and get duplicate tax charges reversed. Be aware, next to train tracks so can be very noisy and walls are thin -- you can hear the conversation in next room. Valet was over $26 plus additional tip -- ridiculous. Restaurant and bar is outstanding. Couldn't get a table even though I was staying there and ate at the bar. Food is wonderful.

Rivet House and its restaurant, Osteria Olio, are brand-new, swanky, and delicious, respectively. Morning bistro needs a fuller menu with some proteins - not just carbs. At check-in, being forced to sign a sternly worded document saying you will pay a gazillion dollars if you smoke or smuggle a pet into the room really undermines the welcoming experience. Not being able to settle your mandatory, non-negotiable valet charge of $26 / day (hey, this is Athens, Ga we’re talking about!) at the front desk is a bit clumsy - including it in the room incidentals would be far smoother.
All that said, this place is amazing! The rooms are fantastic - the restaurant is superb - and the vibe is upscale. Just work out a few little details, and Rivet House will be THE place to stay in Athens.
