A delightful bed and breakfast. Gives you an idea what life was like here in the 1887.

We LOVED this inn. It's a perfect location--right on the Bay, free parking, and a very close walk to restaurants and shopping. The house is beautiful--the rooms are comfortable, quiet, clean, etc. Breakfast was wonderful--sitting on the deck and having them bring a fresh made meal to you. We will definitely come back again.

We had not visited Bar Harbor before, but found the Saltair Inn and booked it due to all of the great reviews, its waterfront location, and proximity to town. We were simply blown away upon our arrival and during the course of our 4th of July weekend stay.
The views are simply outstanding and the photos do not do it justice. The extensive patio area is cool and comfortable and the lawn seating areas are a perfect place to enjoy a glass of wine and take in the breath-taking water views!
The service was exceptional and Leigh was so friendly, informative, and helpful throughout our stay. Matt’s breakfasts were unique as well as delicious, and worth a repeat stay on their own!
There was ample parking and it is just a few blocks to all of Bar Harbor’s main attractions and restaurants, including Bar Island.
We would not hesitate to return here for a repeat stay. The Saltair Inn is truly a hidden gem! Thank you, Leigh and Matt, for making our stay so enjoyable and to the owners, Kristie and Matt for sharing your beautiful Inn.

This is an awesome B&B in a great location, away from all the main crowds of Bar Harbor, but close enough you can walk to everything. The hosts are great and helpful with suggestions of fun things to do and places to eat. I can see why it is always booked out and hard to get a room here. My only criticism, if you are a big guy like me or have a hard time getting around, maybe don't get a room on the third floor, the stairs make it a tight fit getting up there. The room itself, the Cadillac room, was amazing, getting up there was an adventure though (haha)

We had a fabulous experience at this B&B. The next time we come to Bar Harbor we will definitely stay here. The inn keepers Christy and Matt were great hosts and the breakfasts were first class. The next time we stay we will book far enough in advance to get one of the room overlooking the water.
Kudos

The house is exquisite - the location, grand…but specifically our master suite?! Jaw dropping! Comfortable king sized bed, full sized fire place with mantle, sitting room with a comfortable couch, and tv- a small Benjamin Franklin type stove/fireplace- and windows that spread out the incredible view of Frenchman’s bay…and the bathroom?!! Standing tub- with jacuzzi jets! A cascade waterfall shower, and HEATED flooring! I loved this suite so much! But everything about the Saltair Inn? From the MAGNIFICENT breakfast , to the ice maker, made us feel special and our vacation from reality, affirmed.

Kristi and Matt (the owners) were kind and welcoming, and make a great breakfast! The rooms are comfortable, and the back porch has been recently renovated so there are plenty of tables to eat breakfast outside. The Inn is an easy walk to downtown and has a phenomenal view of the water with a large lawn to sit and enjoy a glass of wine as the sun sets. We really enjoyed our stay and would absolutely book again if we return to Bar Harbor.

This beautiful B & B was perfect for our trip to the east coast. We stayed at the Saltair after two long flights from the west coast. The B & B was plush, beautiful, warm and inviting. The town is beautiful and owners were very nice. We would stay again without hesitation!
