My stay at Alila was a mix of satisfaction and disappointment. The hotel had a peaceful and beautiful ambience, creating a calming atmosphere. However, there were some major inconveniences. Upon arrival, there was no lobby at the ground floor, nor staff to assist. Feeling lost, I had to Google their number, and I was informed the lobby was on a high floor (43 or 44). I requested a bellboy for luggage assistance, but waited nearly 25 minutes before someone came.
Check in and check out were smooth, and the room was lovely. However, accessing the room required changing elevators, which felt cumbersome. Additionally, the lifts were slow, with long waits, and parking wasnt free for guests. On a positive note, I liked the small pantry on each floor, offering free snacks and drinks.
Would I return? Likely not, as the inconveniences outweighed the experience.

Overall, we had a very comfortable stay at Alila. The staff was able to accede to my request for having a small slice of cake sent to my parents' room for their anniversary so that made their stay more meaningful.
The rooms are on the top floors, and had excellent views! The rooms were also very generously spacious (we booked the basic room), and was a good respite to rest in after a day spent in busy KL. There are free snacks & coffee/tea all day at the lift lobby of your floor too.
Generally, the rooms were well maintained and clean enough - however, some areas of the room were overlooked (vent above the shower area had collected dust, and the wall in the common bathroom area where the bathrobes were hung had water marks that have not been wiped down, fridge needed cleaning and the clothes cupboard had a musty smell too).
There is no complimentary parking - although a flat fee is charged per day for multiple entries, and can be validated with a Touch and Go card.
The breakfast spread was delicious, and had an ample selection of local food and international items. The staff at the restaurant were more than accommodating, and we had a very pleasant dining experience.
The hotel, although located outside of the main KL city centre, remains accessible. It is connected by a linkbridge to a train station. The mamak food around the hotel is also a plus to checkout. We did not have time to experience the night life in Little India area, so will definitely come back for that.

Beautiful, architecturally interesting hotel on the edge of Little India. Cannot say enough about how excellent the staff is - so professional, helpful and welcoming.

I have stayed at Alila Bangsar multiple times, and the hotel interior never ceases to impress me. It is both beautiful and comfortable, providing a luxurious ambiance that makes each stay memorable. However, my most recent visit had a few hiccups that marred the experience.
Firstly, the room curtains and the toilet sliding door in my room malfunctioned, both failing to close properly. This was quite inconvenient and unexpected, considering my previous positive experiences here.
Additionally, there was some confusion with the room arrangements. I had booked two rooms with single beds, but upon arrival, one room had a King and a Queen bed instead. The other room, which was supposed to have a King bed and a sofa bed, ended up being quite similar to the first room configuration. It felt like all the rooms were almost identical despite the different descriptions.
Another point worth mentioning is the surrounding environment of the hotel. The area gives off a somewhat dodgy, low-end vibe with very narrow roads, which can be off-putting.
Despite these issues, the hotel itself remains a haven of comfort and beauty. The service is excellent, consistently meeting high standards. If the room and environmental issues can be addressed, Alila Bangsar would undoubtedly provide an impeccable stay.

Situated in little India so not as luxurious of an area as other parts of KL. Felt less safe walking around these parts. Overall a decent stay. Breakfast options ok.

Beautiful hotel and room, great for honey mooners or couples. There's no locks on the toilets so not for staying with children. Michelin 2024 french restaurant which I heard is fantastic. Carpark is 5 RM per hour. Located near a LRT, one stop from Sentral LRT. You could take the LRT to Bukit Bintang.
Free flow of cassava chips, muruku and nuts, flower tea and coffee at each level of room. However, I saw a tiny just born baby cockroach on my last night which I killed.
Felt the toilet sink's drainage was a bit slow. And the toilet bowl smelt a bit of urine after the first day. So I suspect the flushing and design of it could be better.
Shampoo, soap, conditioner and body lotion smelt like wild flowers, very lovely. The toilet smelt of thyme when we first arrived. The bed was very comfortable. Air con was adjustable up or down.
Would I stay here again? Possibly. There's both pros and cons..

We had a 3 night stay here in May and would recommend.
We booked a twin room which had 2 huge beds and a great bathroom. Room was cleaned well each day.
Swimming pool area is a great place to relax. It’s not the biggest pool but still lovely for a dip, and there are great views across the city.
Downstairs restaurant, Botanica and Co serves nice food, spring chicken is recommended.
It’s only 6 stops to the city centre on the team which is directly opposite the hotel. Would I stay here again? Yes.
