The cottage is nice, and the owners have upgraded the patio furniture, the grill, etc. The location is fantastic, and the view is amazing. Less amazing is the spotty wireless (not enough to work on Zoom all day), and the rat that paid a visit in the bedroom on the last night.

The home was great. All four beds in one room, a queen and bunk beds, so not suitable for 4 adults. Other than that, well appointed and maintained. No notebook with garbage instructions or how to use TV.
Arrived to find some cleanliness issues and two broken chairs on deck. Not major, particularly for a Maine coast bungalow that may have been vacant for a while. Contacted Vacasa on Saturday evening. Sunday and Monday. Added VRBO on Monday. Local team showed Monday and mitigated problems. They said they hadn't heard anything until Monday. Every individual was polite and helpful, but somewhere between service phone and local team there was a big gap. When they arrived they still did not have all notes from earlier calls. Be careful of Vacasa management.

Reviewer Comments:
Nice but better if I had electric and water. The first night I arrived after the storm hit I had no power so I fumbled around in the dark. It was pretty daunting. It would have been nice to have been notified there was no electricity and therefore no water due to being on a pump I suppose. I could have brought some gallons of water to at least flush the toilet. I called the rental company but there was nothing they could do about it. We finally got power on the last day I was there and then it was fabulous (on the 4th day). They company did bring out some bottled water which was nice of them but it was a little late and after I complained. I do feel they could have had gallons of water there when I arrived or at least had informed me better.

Light bulbs out in 4 places, not enough dishwasher soap, commode had a bad odor. All of these things were easily fixable if we had been able to contact the turnkey staff quickly. With a short stay ~ a quick response is crucial.

Reviewer Comments:
Overall a nice cottage with a beautiful perch overlooking the bay. Close enough to Freeport and Portland but far enough to feel like a real getaway. Very comfortable space, and for our November visit the fireplace was an amazing amenity. Very clean overall, and the grill was practically brand new. You can tell the property is just used as a rental, and there are some finer details that are lacking (sliding door doesn't shut properly, cart full of cleaning supplies sitting right out in the open in the bathroom, pillows were well worn, etc.) - nothing major, but for the price we paid I guess I expected a little more. Oh, and they clearly have a mouse problem - noticed a ton of droppings under the sink, and one night we awoke to a mouse clawing around in the wall. I wasn't overly fazed given it's a cottage, but again a bit surprising for this price. Had a nice three nights here, but I would look elsewhere for a future visit.

My husband and I loved our stay in this little cottage right in the Ocean. We were pleasantly surprised by this understated cottage-it had beautiful views and we were close enough to take day trips to Portland and small towns surrounding the area. Super close to hiking trails.

Unassuming from the road, but utterly fantastic once inside. As soon as you enter the property, the views out the back windows are amazing. The interior of the property is so inviting and comfortable, and the back deck area opened up to beautiful views. We spent so much time sitting outside just looking at the water. It was just a quick drive to Freeport and is very close to a very cool market as well where we did all of our grocery shopping. I would recommend this property to anyone and will absolutely keep it in mind for future trips to Maine. Thank you!!
