This was probably the worst value hotel of my entire life. Had to choose a hotel in a hurry to enter almost immediately and chose this one on the basis that it supposedly has a restuarant according to expedia and hotel website. There is a restuarant but its only open for breakfast so arriving after dark in not the most salubrious part of the city you have to take to the streets to find food and NOWHERE in the hotel can you get a cup of tea outside 8am - 10am. No room service nor hotel - specific informaton provided in our room, just a couple of general, glossy tourist board publications largely based on advertising not info. Similar hotels that charge half the price in Quito and Cuenca are double glazed so silly really to expect that a hotel charging $185 per night in Loja, right next door to a bus terminal would do the same. We got no sleep at all due to the neighbourhood noise and were overcome at 4am by 'toilet' kinda smells which at daylight we assumed were coming from an exhaust pipe that vented just below our window. Grab bar in shower having gaping holes in the wall due to poorly thought out fitting is completely irrelevent but probably points to something larger in that there was a very dangerous loose base plate in the bathroom door frame that had screws sticking right out of it handily ready to take a chunk out of an unsuspecting bare foot (not ours though luckily). There are much better hotels in Loja for a lot less cost, choose one of them!
