About this house rental
Anderson’s Neuk is a stunning four-bedroom, split level apartment in the heart of Anstruther.
Tucked just off the coastal path, this stylish and contemporary double upper apartment has been extensively renovated and boasts interiors that would be expected of a boutique hotel.
Accommodating up to eight guests over four spacious bedrooms, this home is well suited to families or friend groups looking to explore all that the East Neuk has to offer.
Entering on the ground level there’s a cloakroom area by the steps which split in both directions on the first floor. To the left is the first of the bedrooms — an exceptionally large room with hotel quality beds which can be arranged as a super king or twin and its own seating area — and the family bathroom. The bath has a handheld shower. To the right is the main hallway from which the other first floor rooms and upper level are reached. Ensuring plenty space for all guests, the open plan living space incorporates a comfortable lounge with large screen TV and fantastic dining kitchen. This super social space offers views toward the sea. The first double bedroom is on this level along with a separate shower room. Adults and kids alike will be delighted with the snug, a bonus extra room to get some peace to escape into the reading nook, watch your favourite show or sit by the window desk to catch up on emails.
The uppermost level has the second double bedroom with fitted storage, the second super king bedroom which can also be arranged as a twin and the final shower room. A large closet in the hallway houses the laundry facilities, perfect for those having a longer stay. Both bedrooms on this level have views towards the sea from their elevated position.
Anderson’s Neuk is the lovingly refurbished former childhood home of the Anderson family, with impeccable attention to detail to ensure guests leave with wonderful memories.
The central location of the apartment offers plenty of local amenities in close reach. There is a butcher and bakers, several restaurants, cafes and fish and chip restaurants, bars and independent shops all within a street of the accommodation.
Parking is available on street and there is a public car park close by. Both ends of Shore Street have areas of sandy beach, perfect for paddling or beachcombing and there are several spots for wild swimming and watersports including Cellardyke tidal pool.
Anstruther is the largest of the East Neuk towns and villages and each are joined by the Fife Coastal path. Take a scenic walk from one village to the other, keeping an eye out for an array or seabirds or even a passing pod of dolphins. St Andrews is around 10 miles and Edinburgh just over an hour by car. There are several world-renowned golf courses in easy reach. Known for being a foodie haven, there are plenty of local producers, artisan suppliers and farmers market where you can buy the freshest of produce from field fresh veg and berries to locally landed lobster and crab. A visit to the East Neuk is not complete without trying fish and chips, the quintessential seaside holiday staple!
Anderson’s Neuk can be booked in conjunction with its close neighbour Murray’s Neuk which is just across the street and can accommodate another four guests.
