Summary:
This elevated, luxurious cottage is quite literally a few short steps from all that downtown Waynesville has to offer! Featuring a hot tub, fire pit, gas grill, comfy porch and pet friendly policy, this place is perfect for friends and families traveling together. From the gorgeous chef's kitchen to the well stocked game supply, this gathering place has been thoughtfully curated to be a fun and cozy vacation destination.

The Space:
Each bedroom features a queen size bed, TV, and bath with shower/tub combo. The bedrooms are on opposite sides of the house with the living area in the center, providing plenty of privacy. There is a Pack n' Play and kid's toys on site, along with family board games and Spectrum cable. Water and food bowls are provided for your furry friend!

The front porch is a fantastic sitting spot for alfresco dining, morning coffee or an evening cocktail! The 4 person fire pit and hot tub are protected by privacy fences, so you can relax under the stars. Enjoy a night in grilling on the back porch and dining by the twinkle lights. Keruig coffee is provided.

The Neighborhood:
Downtown Wayensville is a 5 minute walk from the house. Some of our favorite destinations are: the Wall Street Book Exchange, Smokey Mountain Sandwich Shop, Sassafras Toy Store, The Sweet Onion, Wildflour Blue Bakery, Orchard Coffee, and the Blue Ridge Beer Hub.

If you feel like takeout, Uber eats and DoorDash are available. There is also a chick-fil-a a few minutes down the road as well as lots of grocery store options. We recommend our local Ingles.

Getting Around:
Easy walk to downtown Waynesville. 37 minute drive to downtown Asheville.

Other Things to Note:
-Ring security camera is located at front door
-Hot tub is sanitized before and after each stay, please read hot tub instructions in the house manual
-Fence is a privacy fence and is not enclosed
-For your convenience feel free to use any firewood onsite. If you use wood onsite please replace what you used for the next guest. Firewood is available at nearby shops including Lowes and Ingles.

We loved the area and the house was almost new. furnishings very nice and clean. Appliances are very modern and worked perfectly. Well stocked except we had only 4 bath towels for the two of us for the six day stay. However the owner provided detergent and dryer sheets and a very nice laundry room so it was no big deal to wash often. Great place we will return soon.

My husband and I stayed at Steps away cottage with our friends who are also married. The online listing for the cottage is exactly what you get and more! This place exceeded our expectations. The decor is so adorable and feels like home. The cottage is stocked with everything you could possibly need for a vacation. The hot tub was so fun! We used it every night. We walked everywhere in Waynesville for meals and shoppes. We will definitely be rebooking if we ever get back to the area. Do not miss out on this listing! Amazing!

"Steps Away" is a gem of a place to stay. Be sure to bring your own bath soap, but you'll find anything else you need. Hot Tub was not available for us...may need to check to see if it's seasonal use only. Walking distance to downtown. The wedding venue was Laurel Ridge CC, and only 10 minutes away.

This house is a very short walk to downtown Waynesville. It’s beautifully decorated and has everything you need! We especially loved that each bedroom had a television, the washer and dryer, the cute yard with the fire pit/hot tub, and the ease of check in. It was our first trip to Waynesville and we highly recommend visiting this town with its many good restaurants and cute shops and this property was perfect!

My husband and I have stayed at PLENTY of rentals and this one is one of the best! The home itself is absolutely adorable and beautifully decorated. It's charming and loving. It has a wonderful hot tub and a great fire pit to use. And the bonus is that's it's walking distance from downtown Waynesville for shopping and fun. Just a word, make sure to bring your own soap and shampoo as this rental does not have any to use. Great spot! I would highly recommend!

Rented this beautiful home with a friend for a long weekend. It is beautifully decorated and the perfect layout of two bedrooms, two baths with living room and kitchen in the middle. The jacuzzi was a bonus after a long day of shopping. The house is one block off of Main Street so park your car in the driveway and walk everywhere. I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean, beds are comfortable, love the outside seating and front porch. We would have liked a regular coffee pot/maker rather than the pod, simply for the ease pf making multiple cups of coffee at the same time. Beautiful location, and just a block from main street.

Enjoyed our stay very much. The facility was well thought out and provisioned well. We have a couple of extra comments that we hope will be constructive. When someone stays a month the hot tub should be serviced at the two week part. Also grass should have been cut more often. The lawn man’s mower either had dull blades or he ran it too fast. It did not cut well.

This is probably the best VRBO we have utilized. It is new and clean and in a great location for exploring downtown. It is perfect for two couples, but not much room for more than 4 people to gather. We used the front porch every morning to sit and drink coffee and used the barbeque to fix dinner one night. We hope to plan a return visit next year.

Property is so cute!! Very well done- everything that we could have needed was provided plus some. LOOOVVEEE the gold bathroom vanity mirror (on the search for one). Only problem was that we did not have time to stay longer.

The Steps Away cottage was absolutely amazing. The home itself was comfortable and well equipped. Appliances are new and great to use. We loved sitting on the front porch at sunset for a drink. And what can I say about the location except that walking to Orchard Coffee in the morning and local restaurants at night is a great experience. Highly recommended and we will be back!

This place is great! It is located in Waynesville, so there is some noise, which is to be expected. You can walk to restaurants, breweries and tons of shopping places. There is a great meat market very close. This makes it easy to get a great steak for the grill!

We stayed here with our 9-year old son on a trip to Cataloochee for skiing and tubing. This home accommodated our family perfectly! Overall, the home is beautifully decorated and the owners paid a lot of attention to the details. The bedrooms are separated on opposite sides of the house, giving everyone some privacy. The beds are comfortable, kitchen is well stocked with everything you might need, and it's super clean. The hot tub, fire pit, and lovely front porch were all a bonus. The location can't be beat. You're in walking distance to downtown Waynesville and a quick drive to the mountain. We also had a rainy day and it was an easy drive over to Asheville for the afternoon. Throughout, the hosts were attentive and friendly. We will definitely be back!

This property was so clean and well decorated. I though we were the first people in there to say how clean it was. Everything was well situated and we had all that we needed down to a coffee/drink frother in the drawer. We had planned on staying 2 nights but extended our stay. We ended up spending 1 day snowboarding, and other checking out Asheville and then returning back to the quaint town of waynesville, where we will come back to. Loved the sweet onion, frog level brewery and the modern deer, all recommended by the host. Thank you for the lovely stay, ( love being in a week decorated space, it’s good for the soul) great recommendations and thoughtful additions.

Stayed in this adorable rental for a Mother-Daughter getaway…..loved the proximity to downtown Waynesville. The home appears to be new….it’s immaculate and cozy. The owners have put a lot of thought into providing everything someone on vacation in Waynesville would want…..hot tub, fire pit, bistro lights, lots of outdoor seating, comfy warm beds and pillows, and a laundry room complete with brand new washer dryer. The bedrooms are separated by the family room and kitchen which is also a nice feature. We will definitely stay here again!!

Great place to stay. My wife and I planned a ski trip to Cataloochee and this was the perfect location. Just a short walk/drive to downtown Waynesville and about 30 minutes from Cataloochee ski resort. I highly recommend this place. The host was super nice and we will be back to check out spring/ summer activities.
