The internet connection and speed was horrible and unreliable. The air conditioner was old and noisy. There was a broken window that couldn't open. The room felt suffocating and depressing. The cable of the TV had bad connection. The heater of the water doesn't work.

I have a conflicted view of Hotel Uno, but I stayed there for several nights & rebooked a room twice when I could have changed hotels, so on balance I'd give the hotel a reasonable pass. I'm traveling on a budget & Uno was reasonably priced for me. I originally booked through Expedia, which I've used quite a bit, and was given a room overlooking the main road, with 2 single beds. The room was functional & the bed sheets, towels etc clean. They provided soap and there were glasses provided. Two power points by the bed, and free wifi. When I wanted to extend my stay a price was listed on Google Maps, but when I asked if I could have another room at that rate they insisted I use 'Expedia'. However, the water from the shower didn't get away & the bathroom floor flooded. And wifi didn't reach that room. I went to the front desk & the young woman there promptly sent a maintenance person to check things. I was also promptly relocated to another room. So full marks to the front desk on that issue. I booked another night with Expedia & no problems. Overall I had 3 sticking points. First, not being able to just go to the front desk & pay the tariff for a room directly. Second, I thought breakfast was very average. Some room tariffs qualify for a free breakfast. I paid 135p for an egg & toast, and coffee. The egg was, in my opinion, average. Three slices of toasted bread sliced corner to corner & some scrapings of butter. My review must end here because of character limits.

There was no refrigerator, which is a must in your climate. And the the fact that I paid for the highest quality room. The floors in the rooms I stayed in were unclean (room 605 and room 609). The shower bracket in room 605 was installed up-side-down, it looks like it has been like that forever. The water for showering was constantly cold. There was no plug in the hand basin. There was no bed light switch, so one had to get up and go to the entrance door to turn of the lights, to go to sleep, I had a torch to achieve this. The curtains were unclean and stained. Other than above, you are in a great location. If you cleaned up the rooms on the top floor you would be well on the way to giving a better product to your customers. It would cost very little..

I booked a room for for 900pesos when I added two adults it went to 1,700p. First room they gave us had no toilet seat. Gave us new room. Same type room. Asked for extra bed, they wanted 300p more. Room did not have enough room for a cot anyway. WiFi was useless. I will never go back

If you're looking for a quiet and nice place to stay, this is not the place to be. Location is next to the main road and you can hear the sound of cars and jeepneys. Toilet is expected to be wet, there's no division between the toilet and shower. Building is old.
Not recommended for guests who want to stay in the room. Hotel Uno is recommended if you're looking for a place to stay in the city where everything is accessible (7 eleven, jeepneys/taxi (transportation), Ateneo, Roxas).
Enjoy your stay in Davao! Don't forget to visit Roxas night market, it's very close to Hotel Uno.

For the price and considering this was their "deluxe" room (although the size of bed was NOT king as advertised) I'd expect a bit more. Good location for being downtown, however.
