My family had a great stay at Damodra. The staff were great, and everyone from my seven year old son to my in-laws enjoyed the accommodations (more comfortable beds than some of the 5 star hotels we also stayed in on this trip!), the food, the entertainment (I typically have pretty low expectations for the quality of shows at hotels, but the music and dancing was truly extremely good), and the camel ride (the wranglers of camels Rocket, Magu, and Michael were very accommodating, especially with letting my son get a solo ride and ‘steer’ himself). Highly recommend!

Absolutely worth the amount we paid for this experience! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the desert safari organized was great. We enjoyed every minute of our short stay here.

Nice Camp, friendly staff, great location. Make sure to add another $30 to the cost for ride to and back from the camp. This isn't very clear.

Desert camps are now big business in the Thar Desert but even amidst this crowded space, Damodra stands a head above the competition. Unlike other luxury properties where they stick tents in the back of the hotel property, this site is solely focused on the desert camp experience. The tents were comfortable and well appointed. The camel rides were well run. The evening entertainment was excellent, food was also great (mostly vegetarian fair with some laal maas, a spicy local mutton dish). They've put a lot of attention into creating outdoor spaces that are comfortable and ooze desert charm, including diwan seating for a morning cup of chai and separate star-gazing observatory. The staff were all polite and helpful. Clearly a well run place and worthy of all the positive reviews I'd read online before taking the plunge. We'd definitely love to come back.

The reviews were all mostly extremely positive and my experience confirms the positive rating. The tent was immaculate and comfortable, the areas to watch the sunset and sunrise were a nice touch and the location is separated from other camps enough that you get the true desert experience. The staff were amazingly polite and friendly - only complaint is the lateness of the dinner meal. It was at 8:30 one night and 9:30pm the next - way too late for my little kids and the snacks prior also take a long time. The food is fairly simple but I don't expect anything more elaborate in a desert setting. My only thought was whether it is overpriced - it is significantly more expensive than all the other tents except for the one uber luxury one. Having not seen the others, I don't know if this is twice as good as the other tents but on its own, it was amazing - certainly would not pay more than twice as much for Serai.

We had a great time from the time we were picked up at the office until we were dropped off again. The staff were especially helpful and the experience was very peaceful. All very luxurious for the surroundings but perhaps a little overpriced.

Great experience. This tent is named after a close by village damodar. All workers are from the same village and thus they all make sure that guest stay is comfortable. Highly recommend.
