It was fantastic from start to end of our 3 night stay. Love the location, the style, the warmth of every staff member we met, including the general workers, the reception and the ladies at the restaurant. The view of Portree from the hut was amazing especially in the morning. Love the butter they serve at breakfast too!! Wishing upon the many stars at night that we can come back to Bracken Hide again!!

I’ll start with the good things. What staff there were, they were very pleasant. The pods are fastidiously clean, well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The hotel reception/bar/restaurant is beautiful. But, and there’s a big but, I would absolutely not recommend staying at this hotel. We arrived to be told that the restaurant was closed two days a week and was unavailable to us and ‘have you not received the email?’. No we had not received the email and we would not have paid over £300 per night for a hotel with no restaurant. It turns out that ‘because you booked with Expedia you won’t have got an email’. This explanation is not acceptable and we feel very much aggrieved. We had to go searching for somewhere to get lunch after a very long drive to Skye. Also the entrance is very poorly signposted and after having had to go out for dinner, we completely missed the entrance on our return in the dark. On the upside, we discovered a beautiful hotel where the food was amazing and where we will be staying in two weeks time when we return to Skye. There was no fridge, so the milk left for tea and coffee went off. All in all, very disappointing from a venue that held so much promise.

This property was very unique. Loved the individual hides and the views they offered. Hotel is perfect location to Portree. Wonderful restaurant. Breakfast especially was well delicious. We enjoyed the the lounge and bar every night of our 3 night stay.

The view from our hide was amazing! Breakfast was delicious! Be aware there is a hike to your room and it is difficult to get a ride to town. Check in was difficult. Waitresses and bartenders were very attentive.

Beautiful views, fantastic restaurant. While the walk up the hill to our cabin was a bit much, the view, the quiet, and the uniqueness of it all more than made up for it. We had a fantastic time.

We visited from Ohio, USA. We loved this location. The individual rooms were small but tidy. The bed was really comfortable and warm. Meals at the lodge were wonderful and the view was amazing! Highly recommend!

The cabins are very nice but are a bit of a walk to the lodge, especially in the rain. Overall it was a great experience.

Very unique little pods overlooking beautiful rolling hills and the harbour. Full streaming services and excellent onsite restaurant. Clean and cozy. Also, lovely staff, especially Shannon, our server. Lots of tea, coffee, and treats that were complimentary. My only complaint was that the water for the shower could have been hotter. The water both days was not hot enough. Other than that the place was perfect.

The pod is very nice, clean and has a lovely view. Very near to Portree and all the restaurants, shops, etc. A perfect location to start exploring the island from. Breakfast is great (a cute tray with yoghurt, croissant, fruits for every table and on top of that you can order warm food from the menu) The people working there are very friendly. Unfortunately they are short of staff and you notice that. Breakfast takes a bit longer than usual, the restaurant was shut on one of the days we stayed there and the lounge/bar was closed during our stay. Luckily there is a pizza guy (Pizza in the Skye) just down the hill that makes terrific pizza’s to take and eat in the pod with some Netflix on or to sit out and watch the stars if the weather is good. Would recommend this stay for the location, view, cosiness, etc. but price is quite high. Though I must add prices are sky high on Skye everywhere..

What a great stay! The pods are awesome albeit a little tight for two and two suitcases! The lodge bar was brilliant, breakfast and dinner was awesome and the staff was second to none. Loved every minute of it.

POD was a long way to restaurant etc and path was steep and unstable especially where we were situated at the very top of the hill. Staff were great
