A very classy place, lovingly built by Paul and Joan, who live on the floor above the studio. Even better than the photos - very Conde Nast Traveller exclusive retreat. A large estate, 1.7miles up a very pretty, good side road. 40 minutes slow drive to Apia but the journey is so delightful that’s no problem. Car necessary. Lovely view. Great c.25 metre lap pool, tennis court. Large comfy bed. WiFi. Paul and Joan are very responsive. Nice breakfast, good value, on request. Friendly, happy, laid back dogs. Without doubt the best accommodation in Samoa. Charles and Camilla should obviously stay here for the forthcoming conference. Good value. We had 4 great nights here. Don’t hesitate.

I’m a seasoned visitor to Samoa - seen the good, bad and blah of hotels and accommodations between her two main islands... and I LOVED Ifiele’ele! The accommodations are located a ways inland down a pretty rough road (you won’t want to walk there) but the property is stunning.
The hosts were generous and “upgraded” our booking to the bigger suite since no other guests had booked our dates, and were even willing to let us shift our reservation from sun/mon to mon/tues after some bad weather caused a flight cancellation. We LOVED having the 5-star comfort with the convenience of a well stocked kitchen to prepare our own meals, but the hosts also offer a selection of food items if ordered 24 hours in advance. Staff was friendly and the pool was lovely. AC only in the main bedroom, but the space has lots of sliding doors to enjoy the island breeze. View is spectacular- all the way out to the ocean! The only thing that surprised me was that someone serviced the place during our short stay. We weren’t expecting housekeeping and left for a few hours with our suitcases in complete disarray in the bedroom which was a bit embarrassing when we’d come back to see our things all organized elsewhere. Otherwise extremely friendly and discrete for our private space in close proximity to the owners’ home. We will absolutely stay here again! It was a glorious welcome back to Samoa!

Goodness, where to start? It's just the perfect place for a relaxing family holiday. The property is a glorious tropical hideaway, and the accommodation very well appointed with all mod cons necessary for a comfortable stay. Joan and Paul are perfect hosts - happy to chat, but also perceptive enough to recognise when guests want to enjoy the privacy of the plantation and its facilities.
We stayed for 8 nights, and had two "home" days where we just lazed about the pool, played basketball and board games, and generally chilled out. We were taken on a tour of the working plantation by one of the employees. Now we know how coconut cream is made (hint: it's not in a can!!!), and got a feel for the Samoan Way. We mostly self-catered, but Joan and Paul really know how to cook - the Thai green chicken curry was amazing.
We look forward to returning again next year.

Paul and Joan are incredible hosts that made our stay at Ifelele special.. This gorgeous property is located in a quiet side road about 15 minutes drive from the airport. If you are looking for the perfect retreat then Ifelele is the place.

Highly recommend Ifiele'ele Plantation. It is in a great location on the hillside overlooking the north west coast, easy access to the airport, ferry and both north and south coasts. Paul and Joan are fantastic hosts, always ready for a chat and armed with helpful advice. It is well set up for self catering but we couldn't resist the breakfasts and dinners they provided (the banana porridge was a favourite - yum!). Would definitely stay again.

We picked this hotel because of its close proximity to the airport for our early morning flight. We had a huge villa overlooking the pool set in beautiful well kept garden with ocean views in the distance. Our hosts Paul and Joan have made this into an eco friendly resort and all the produce served up to us was organically grown. They even made us up an umu box to take home. This was the best meal we had during our stay. Highly recommend for a relaxing stay to end a holiday.
