About this cottage rental
Badger’s Inlet is the quintessential cosy cottage, conveniently situated in the heart of Devonport and waiting to be your temporary home away from home. Set on a private ‘battle-axe’ (internal) block, Badger’s inlet provides a beautiful retreat at the end of a hard day’s work or after hours of touring and tasting the finest produce Tasmania has to offer.
Especially coming into the springtime and summer, this space is in a league of its own. Enjoy the courtyard in the afternoon sun, or the sitting room with your favourite book & bubbly/red on hand.
The well-established garden is alluring with its plush green grass, lemon tree (please help yourself!), and private courtyard to enjoy some well-earned downtime.
Access all areas! The place is booked as an entire home for your enjoyment:)
I’m usually not too far away either via phone, text or in person if I’m not flying. Any questions or issues at all however please don’t hesitate to call or text:)
There’s so much on offer within the local area and beyond. A short stroll to the CBD, Mersey River & Bluff, Badger’s Inlet is perfectly positioned for the business person and leisure seeker.
Take a short stroll to Hill Street Grocer and cafe, Fundamental Coffee or Laneway for great coffee and fantastic menus. Devonport CBD is a short two or three minute walk, likewise for Coles/Woolworths Supermarkets and K-Mart.
Walk down the end of the street and watch the Spirit of Tasmania come in around 6am each morning or depart of an evening. The walk along the river to the Mersey Bluff is spectacular and very popular with locals and tourists alike.
Devonport in the last few years has ramped up its appeal to those seeking good coffee and restaurants offering fine local produce. Plenty of beaches to keep the kids entertained during the summer, or the dog in winter..or both! Cradle Mountain is a great day trip, Leven Canyon is spectacular, and of an evening there’s a few places to view fairy penguins wander up the beach, such as Lillico Strait and Hawley Point. Mountain biking is fast becoming an option with the first stage of the Wild Mersey Project completed. Diving, surfing, fishing are also a coast favourite when the weather conditions are suitable.
Public transport is limited in Tasmania in general, a hire car would be recommended for the area. Luckily Badger’s Inlet is conveniently situated in the heart of Devonport however.
The (please) Do’s and Do Not’s
Just a few things to be mindful of, so we can continue to offer reasonable nightly rates, and keep the cleaning fee low:)
- Please remove dirty work shoes etc and also wipe shoes well before walking inside.
- Please leave kitchen as you found it, including washing/putting away the dishes before you leave.
- Please use fan/rangehood over stovetop whilst cooking.
- Used towels etc, please leave on the bathroom or laundry floor upon departure.
- The smart TV has YouTube & Netflix, you’ll just need your own login details.
- Please do not rearrange any of the furniture as it’s heavy. This includes removing cables from the tv and/or speakers.
- Strictly no parties as per booking information.
- No pets are permitted inside the house.
