About this cottage rental
*** Due to the substantial snowfall, the Deck, BBQ Griller, and Fire Pit are currently not accessible nor available to guests. We apologize for your inconvenience ***
Welcome to Charcoal Tree House, a newly renovated Stunning 1200-square-foot cottage embraced by two acres of lush greenery and tall trees.
Private Entrance, almost 400 feet long driveway, no see-through from public road.
Forced-air Heat Furnace and township maintained road allows four-season-long enjoyments with full privacy.
The ample-space wooden deck allows you to have closer touch with nature, sometimes you may see deer or turkey walking by while enjoy your coffee.
Bedroom #1, the "Classic", is the largest bedroom in the house with a queen size bed and big walk-in closet. It has 3 windows, which allow you to enjoy the view of woods from three different angles, yet blackout roller shades give you a good night's sleep.
Bedroom #2, the "Woods", has a double size bed and a small walk-in closet. It is on the other side of the house, which is closer to the trees. If you like a dimmed but cozy vibe, a little more privacy but not too far away from the group, this is for you! This room has one window with blackout roller shade provided.
Bedroom #3, the "Stargaze", has a double size bed which is under one of the two skylights. You can watch the sky while lying on the bed. This is a loft-style space. The stairs and wooden ladder make it the most interesting space in the house, based on my own opinion :-)
Climbing up the wooden ladder in Stargaze, there is Bedroom #4, the "Attic in Stargaze". Two twin size beds make it a cozy space to get a good rest.
The state-of-the-art kitchen provides the cool and contemporary vibe with quartz countertops, black cabinets, stainless steel appliances and the embedded flat induction cooktop. Basic cooking essentials are provided, and of course, coffee and tea.
Great for remote work. Fast Wi-Fi at 180 Mbps, plus a dedicated workspace. Even though there is no closed door for the workspace, but you have a window! When you are tired looking at your computer screen, just look up and the trees outside the window will comfort your eyes.
There is a 3-piece full bathroom in the main floor, and a 2-piece powder room right beside the entrance for your convenience.
Laundry room is on site. The washer and dryer are free for you to do light laundry load.
The basement is currently not finished except laundry room, which is the only space accessible to guests. There is a storage/utility room at the end of basement. The host uses that space for storage purpose.
Charcoal Tree House provides the full privacy, yet there are many attractions and outdoor activities are within minute-drive distance.
Taboo Golf Course takes you 3-minute drive.
The closest beach (Muskoka Beach Park ) only takes you 1-minute drive. Another close one (Gull Lake Rotary Park) takes you 6-minute drive from the house. If you want to experience more activities at Lake side, there is Muskoka Wharf Marine, which takes you 8-minute drive from the house.
Bethune Memorial House National Historic Site is also as close as less than 10 minutes drive, if you want to know more about this Chinese Culture Icon, a Battlefront Surgeon, and a medical pioneer.
Gravenhurst downtown is around 10-minute drive, there you can find coffee shop, restaurants, craft stores, and much more. If you like to get a close touch with this small town, there is a Gravenhurst Historic Murals Walk route designed by the Town of Gravenhurst.
If you want to cook a delicious dinner and forget to bring some ingredients, no worries, there are a couple of grocery stores nearby, i.e. Palmieri’s Your Independent Grocer, and Sobeys.
Dine out? no problems! There are variety of choices out there within 10-minute drive distance, ranged from fast food to fine dining.
