Immerse yourself in Tasmania’s rugged and beautiful coastal wilderness at this four-bedroom lodge style family home with ocean views, in the pristine region of Eaglehawk Neck.
Sleeping 8 people comfortably, this warm, spacious home with expansive outdoor deck, ideal for entertaining, is perfect for a large family or group to share.
Just over an hour’s drive from Hobart, discover the stunning Tasman Peninsula, historic Port Arthur, Tessellated Pavement, and nearby wineries and distilleries.
The Space:
The home, set on 3 hectares with natural bushland offers an authentic way to experience Tasmania’s wild and wonderful Pirate Bay coastline and the Tasman Peninsula.
With exposed wooden beams throughout, and space to either retreat or entertain, a stay at Lookout Lodge provides relaxation and seclusion with ocean views.
The ground floor features a large open plan family kitchen, living and dining space, complemented with a wood fire that heats the entire home. Two bedrooms – one with a Queen bed, and one with two single beds are also on the ground floor.
Two bathrooms , one a large family bathroom with shower and separate bath are on the ground floor, along with laundry with washer and dryer.
Upstairs offers an informal lounge room or kids’ retreat with a work desk and screen for those who need to plug back into the real world, along with two large bedrooms, both with King sized beds, built in robes, and attic style ceilings for added character.
Outside, enjoy a spacious deck with BBQ and fire pit to entertain, unwind and breathe in the fresh Tasmanian air among the surrounding native Eucalyptus trees and ferns.
The Tasman Peninsula is a haven full of stunning attractions and well worth a visit. For local sightseeing, the Tessellated Pavement is just 10 minutes walk from the home, Devil’s Kitchen 10 minutes by car and Port Arthur just 20 minutes by car.

Eaglehawk Neck is a small coastal town in southeast Tasmania, just one hour’s drive from the capital, Hobart. Built around a narrow bar of land, Eaglehawk Neck connects Tasman Peninsula and Forester Peninsula.
Discover history and nature with a trip to the historical site of Port Arthur, access the 3 Capes Track in Tasman National Park, explore the Tessellated Pavements just a short walk from the home, the Blowhole, Devil’s Kitchen, famous surfing beaches, scenic walking trails and incredible restaurants, wineries and produce.
Some favourites to try are McHenry’s Distillery and Brewery, Bangor Vineyard Shed and Hellfire Distillery. For produce try the Raspberry Farm in Koonya for farm-to-table jams or Eaglehawk Neck & Bream Creek Markets for artisan products. Cubed Espresso at Pirate Bay lookout also does great coffee and banana bread!
Keep an eye out for the abundance of wildlife in the region including Pademelons, Echidnas, Wombats, Penguins and birdlife.
Getting Around:
It is best to hire a car to travel to and around Eaglehawk Neck. You can hire rental cars from Hobart Airport from Hertz, Thrifty, Avis, Budget, Europcar to name a few.
