About this cottage rental
Captain’s Cottage is a newly renovated Victorian cottage with all the ingredients for the perfect island break.. Ground Floor:
Living room: Smart TV, Patio Doors Leading To Garden
Dining room.
Kitchen: Electric Oven, Gas Hob, Microwave, Dishwasher, Washing Machine
Games Room.
Bedroom 1: Kingsize (5ft) Bed
Separate Toilet.
First Floor:
Bedroom 2: Kingsize (5ft) Bed
Bedroom 3: 2 x Single (3ft) Beds
Bedroom 4: Bunk (3ft) Beds
Bathroom 1: Bath, Walk-In Shower, Heated Towel Rail, Toilet. Gas central heating, gas, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi included. Travel cot and Highchair. Back garden with firepit, gas barbecue and garden furniture. Bike store. On road parking; additional car park nearby. No smoking. Up to 25% discount on a ferry available. . An extremely spacious home, featuring a large conservatory, dining room, games room, and large mature enclosed gardens featuring a barbecue and fire chiminea, so there is plenty of space for everyone.
The position of Captain’s Cottage couldn’t be better, it is right in the heart of this beautiful seaside resort, with shops, bars, and restaurants on your doorstep. It’s only a 10-minute stroll to the wonderful sandy beaches too. Shanklin is one of the most popular seaside resorts on the island, home to the Old Village and Shanklin Chine. The seafront is packed with amusements, activities, and crazy golf courses. Within a moment’s walk of Captain’s Cottage is the bus station, which has great links to anywhere on the island and there is also an open-top bus in the summer season, great for sight seeing. At the end of the road, there is also a train station, which stops at several coastal towns. Osborne House was once Queen Victoria’s favourite residence and is open to the public and well worth a visit, as are Carisbrook Castle, The Needles rock formations, Robin Hill park with acres of parkland, natural woodland, countryside gardens, adventures, and special events, Ventnor Botanical Gardens and Shanklin Chine, a deep wooded gorge with streams and waterfalls.
The model village at Godshill is also not to be missed as this gives a good overview of the island and its attractions, all in miniature of course. Start your holiday as soon as you hop onto one of the many ferry options, whether you whiz over on the Hovercraft or one of the car ferry links.
