About this cottage rental

Escape to the jewel of the hills—Washington, CT—to a newly renovated vintage classic-cozy country style two-bedroom house in Washington and invite friends/family to join you in their own separate fully-equipped one-bedroom (with queen/full-bath) cottage! Set amongst beautiful gardens on the edge of an 80-acre land preserve (enjoy a wander in the woods) yet a short walk to the exquisite shops, cafe & farm market, and fun wine bar in the village of New Preston. Beautifully and simply appointed with antique beams, chestnut and pine floors— you'll feel right at home in the kitchen with Italian Bertazzoni stove, living room with fireplace (gas) and dining room with fireplace (wood-burning). The master suite features gorgeous newly renovated full bath with deep soaking tub (with a serene hillside view) heated floors and large walk-in closet. Need to do a little remote work while away? The office with desk, printer and sofa bed also provides room for a 7th guest to sleep comfortably. Equipped with all the essentials, guests can unwind, cook, grill and cozy up to the large outdoor fireplace (plenty of firewood on hand) on the spacious terrace under an astounding ancient maple. Less than a mile to Lake Waramaug and the trailhead of Steep Rock's Macricostas Preserve for endless hiking. Whether you're unwinding or venturing out to discover the local Litchfield County arts, activities and events, dine at nearby restaurants [faves include Community Table, White Horse Pub, GW Tavern, Mayflower Inn in Washington/ Materia, Arethusa Al Tavola in Bantam], day trip up to Mohawk (15 miles) or Butternut, MA for skiing, or shop the seasonal farmers markets, enjoy "252" as your home base. Coming with your EV? An at-home EV charger can be accessed for an agreed upon fee. Driveway parking for up to 3 vehicles. Local host is long-time area resident and nearby to assist if needed.
