About this house rental
Summary:
This charming home is conveniently located in Annapolis' Germantown neighborhood, ony two blocks from Navy's Navy-Marine Corps stadium! We've decorated it with USNA decor as well as art honoring the squadrons I've served in (HSM-51, HSM-40, and HSM-41)!
Perfect for Navy sporting events and boat shows, this home is also only an 8 min drive to USNA, Downtown Annapolis (aka "DTA") as well as the Annapolis Mall.
The Space:
This is a 3 floor property (1st floor, 2nd floor, basement) and guests have access to the entire home. The basement is partially refinished.
Guests will enjoy 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. There is one bedroom on the 1st floor with a king bed included - perfect for multi-generational groups if some folks are not able to walk up a full flight of stairs to the 2nd floor. The 1st floor bathroom is unique in that the entire space becomes the shower (see photo). Upstairs guests can enjoy another king bedroom with Smart TV and ensuite bathroom. The ensuite bathroom includes a large jacuzzi bathtub - perfect for relaxing during your stay. The 2nd floor's non-primary bedroom has a queen sized bed in it with a chest of drawers - perfect for guests staying with us for more than a few days. It also has a smaller ensuite bathroom with a shower tub. There is also a full sized washer and dryer on the 2nd floor - between the two bedrooms.
The basement has two rooms which we label as bedrooms since there are bunkbeds in both of them - a fully finished room and a partially finished room. The fully finished room has a sleeper sofa and "twin over twin" bunk beds with a smart TV and a kitchenette - a sink and a full sized refrigerator. The partially finished room has a "twin over full" set of bunk beds - perfect for teenagers / kids. There is also a foosball table in this room as well. It does have direct access to the yard from a door in this room. There is a powder bathroom in the basement (sink and toilet) but guests will need to walk upstairs to use the shower. Please note - guests sleeping in the partially finished room in the basement will need to walk through the fully finished room to access a restroom and the rest of the house.
The first floor has two dining areas separated by the kitchen. The first dining area is to the right as you walk into the house. It has two barstools and four "high top" style chairs on a kitchen table. There is a separate dining room table on the other side of the kitchen that seats six. The living room is next to the dining room and has a sleeper sofa that seats 3 people. There is also a desk just to the right of the stairs as you enter the property that is perfect for folks working from "home!"
The entire property is fenced in, perfect for guests with dogs. Please ensure you clean up after your furry friends.
There is a covered outdoor porch to the side of the home that makes early mornings with a cup of coffee or late evenings with a glass of wine a relaxing way to enjoy the ambiance of Annapolis. It has benches, adirondack chairs, a couch, as well as a table and chairs - perfect for outdoor dining starting for the spring through the fall!
There is free street parking in front of the house. Spaces are usually readily available but not guaranteed. Please be respectful of neighbors when parking. It is recommended that guests bring no more than 2 cars so that they don't block spaces in front of neighbors' houses.
Guest Access:
Guests have access to the entire house and backyard except for locked storage closets.
The Neighborhood:
This home is in the conveniently located in Annapolis's Germantown neighborhood off West Street, near downtown Annapolis.
Perfect for Navy sporting events and boat shows, this home is two blocks (0.3 miles) from Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium and an 8 minute drive from USNA and Downtown Annapolis.
Annapolis' Germantown neighborhood is wonderful! There are tons of restaurants, bars, and boutiques on West St which is two blocks away.
Walk along the old brick sidewalks much as George Washington or Thomas Jefferson did in the days when Annapolis was the capital of the United States. Architecturally, Annapolis boasts some of the finest 17th and 18th century buildings in the country – including the residences of all four Maryland signers of the Declaration of Independence.
Annapolis is the home of the United States Naval Academy, founded in 1845, and of St. John's College, the third oldest institution of higher learning in the United States.
Stroll along our waterfront and enjoy the charm of our City Dock. Watch the boats as they cruise our famous Ego Alley. Sit on the seawall and watch the sailboat races as they return to the harbor and see why Annapolis is “America’s Sailing Capital.”
Getting Around:
There isn't solid public transit in Annapolis. Guests should either rent a car or (even better) use car sharing options such as taxis or uber / lyft services.
Other Things to Note:
PLEASE CONTACT US PRIOR TO BOOKING IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO REVIEW RENTAL AGREEMENT.
We charge for additional guests above a fixed amount. This amount and additional charge varies by unit type, size, and configuration. If you input the correct guest count when you make your reservation the amount the booking site indicated as the total cost will not change (due to guest count). We ask for confirmation of guest count after you complete your booking. If you need to increase your guest count after booking confirmation due to a booking error, this could result in a price increase. Finally, we verify guest count via external cameras located on our properties. In the event that we notice a guest count at the property that is higher than reported, we reserve the right to ask for additional guest fees that would be double the amount we would have charged prior to check-in.
Kindly refer to the following guidelines regarding fees for extra guests:
3 BR unit - $35 per guest/night after 6 guests (i.e. 7 guests would be $35/night extra and 8 guests would be $70/night extra)
4 BR units - $40 per guest/night after 8 guests (i.e. 9 guests would be $40/night extra and 10 guests would be $80/night extra)
This house is pet friendly so if you are highly allergic to dogs or cats this home may not be a good fit for you. Our cleaning service is very good but you may notice an occasional dog/cat hair here and there.
We charge a pet fee of $50/night per pet that you bring with you. This reduces to $250/week per pet and $500/month per pet for longer term guests. This fee is not included in the accommodation fare rate. We will send a request for the additional funds once the number of pets is confirmed after booking.
***If you neglect to inform us ahead of time that you are bringing a pet with you then I reserve the right to either TERMINATE your stay early or DOUBLE the pet fee retroactively for the entirety of your reservation.***
If you are local to the Annapolis area and book for less than 5 days we reserve the right to ask you to cancel your reservation. We rarely make an exception to policy but may elect to do so at our sole discretion.
The following additional charges apply to late check outs/early arrivals, assuming I can offer this at all (I often can’t so please never assume this will be allowed):
1 hr or less early arrival or late departure: $100
1-2 hr early arrival/late departure: $200
2-3 hr early arrival/late departure: $300
3+ hr early arrival/late departure: $100/hr or the cost of an additional night’s stay, whichever is more
These fees are primarily in place to highly discourage late checkouts/early arrivals since this causes my cleaning service undue stress to prep the unit prior to your or the next set of guest’s arrival. This also increases the need for them to rush/cut corners, increasing the likelihood of them not cleaning the unit to the high standard which I hold them to.
***Smoking is strictly forbidden anywhere on the property - the house, front porch, back deck, or front or back yard***
***If we find cigar/cigarette butts of any kind on the property or evidence of smoking (ash on porch, deck, empty cigarette packs, etc.) We assess a $500 cleaning fee in addition to the regular cleaning fee***
For guests requiring a pack n play, high chair, or any other non-standard item, please submit your request at least 7 days before check-in to ensure availability. If the request is made less than 7 days prior to check-in, we will make every effort to accommodate it, but cannot guarantee availability.
There is a propane grill. We do not supply propane, but you are welcome to pick up a tank and leave what you don’t use for a future guest. After using the grill please clean it in order to avoid additional cleaning fees.
Interaction with Guests:
We always have a team member in the greater Annapolis area available to assist. I personally live 15-20 minutes away and can assist when in town. I have a property manager who helps me and she lives about an hour away. One of us should be available to help in case of an emergency although it could us several hours to arrive on site if we are otherwise indisposed.
