We enjoyed our time here. The walk to the river was 5 minutes & not for the faint of heart. River was low but still nice to sit by.

We had a great time, but wish the river had been much closer. It's way too far and steep of a walk for people with children or with disabilities. I wouldn't consider this property to be "riverfront" by any means.

This property was unique and secluded, which is what we were looking for. Was very relaxing, spacious and peaceful. Furnishings were clean and comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed. The views and outdoor spaces were very nice. The river was low when we visited, but that is a risk you take; at least the fish were biting!

The Dome was a nice quiet getaway. Loved reading on the porch. Home was clean and had everything we needed to cook. We did bring wood for firepit. It was a bit of a walk to the river but the field was beautiful and nice to walk through. We didnt go down much due to the climb back up. Easy but uphill with bad knees.

Our stay was so wonderful. My son moved to San Marcos to go to college and we stayed here when we moved him in to make a fun family vacation out of it. This is where I want to stay every time we visit him! First of all, it’s a dome house, which everyone thought was super cool. And super roomy with plenty of room for my family of 5. There was a beautiful outdoor area and you can walk down to the river. And the stars - oh my goodness!!! I still think about it. We brought our dog and could just walk outside with him and let him run. It was on several acres with lots of trees and was so secluded, quiet and peaceful . And the beds were so comfortable. I highly recommend the Dome Home as we called it, and can’t wait to stay there again!!!

I would like to start by saying I have stayed at this exact property before, about six years ago. Not sure if management changed or got lazy, but our second experience was a nightmare. There is an active infestation of German Cockroaches in the home. We found roaches all over the kitchen, AND in the bedrooms. One had even crawled into a pack and play where an infant was sleeping!!
If that wasn't disgusting enough, there was what looked like a blood stain in the laundry room. A simple wipe with a wet paper towel started to lift the stain so it was obvious that the space had simply not been cleaned. We peeked under the couch and it was again obvious that no one had professionally cleaned in months.
There was also one garbage bag and one paper towel roll provided. A small complaint I would have looked over, if there weren't so many other things completely wrong, including the fact that the outdoor garbage cans were already overflowing with trash.
I would have loved to contact management and complain about these issues; however, there is NO cell service AND NO WIFI on the property. Thankfully, I took many photos to document every issue.
Overall, I regret coming back to this place and will not be staying at any other properties managed by Hill Country Premiere Lodging.

The countertops and table were sticky and covered in food. We had to wipe everything down as soon as we got there as well as sweep. The listing stated there were double beds, there were none. Only 2 kings beds and a bunch of single beds. Not ok for 3 couples. The house was infested with german cockroaches. All of our belongings are now tied up in black trash bags outside as to not infest our house as well. We were only given one and a half extra rolls of toilet paper for 7 people as well as only 1 extra trash bag. Due to the intense amount of cockroach activity, the lack of toilet paper, and the level of the river, which we were told before booking was full (it was not), we all decided to leave a day early. A refund for a night and the cleaning fee would be much appreciated since we couldn’t stay and had to clean upon arrival.

Spacious house and nice outside areas for entertaining. The fire pit is great for making smores and the lower patio has amazing views. River access is a little walk but once you're at the water there is another patio area perfect for getting ready to float or just relax and fish. With 4 kids and 4 adults the house had plenty of room without feeling cramped. We will definitely be back!

The dome is more like a cabin from the sixties, and it feels like it's stuck in the nineties. Overall, things were clean, but it was stale inside. The place is worn down. It has a peat problem with German roaches everywhere. The river has a long walk down. Driving to the river is hard because of the tight turns. The biggest problem was the scorpions... 4 in one day is excessive, especially with an infant. This house wasn’t very child friendly. Overall, the threat of scorpions in the house cause me to flee the house after one night. There was no credit or refund. Do not book if you have small children.

Stayed here for a quick getaway. It was nice and quiet on the property. The river though low was relaxing with the little set up they have.

Beautiful and secluded property and river. The access to river and with the rock landing was great. The depth of water was a pleasant surprise considering the drought in Texas. The house was nice and comfortable, the kitchen had every thing we needed and the bedrooms were nice and spacious.

Property was acceptable, house was okay. It needs a deep cleaning, there was food under the couches.

Cute Dome House!
The house is super cute and fun. It could have been cleaner. The trash can was extremely dirty and some bugs in the kitchen. The upstairs isn’t completely “ceiling-ed” in so you can hear all conversations due to the shape. :) Coffee on the patio with a view in the mornings was a great way to start the day. The stone dock down by the river was the best part. Our stay was during the record heatwave so we had to drive down to it. If you visit in better weather it would be walkable. Pretty and peaceful. Overall it’s a fine place to stay to float the river in New Braunfels.

Fine but dingy
Not worth the cost. First issue is no wifi. I’m sure it’s probably in the description, but I didn’t even think to look for that, because who doesn’t have wifi? Without cell service or wifi, there was no way to contact the property management. Although it had the astringent burning cleaner smell when you walked in, the floors were dirty, the incredibly uncomfortable couch still had pet hair on it and a funky smell, the bed linens were musty smelling, and half the dishes we tried to use still had food on them because the dish washer soap dispenser door doesn’t open when it runs.
The patio is nice, but don’t expect peace and quiet, since there’s a neighboring sports complex, and their noise travels very well up the river valley and into your patio time. River access is also fine, but the river itself is only a couple feet deep and unshaded, so only enjoyable in the evening in summer.
I promise I wasn’t looking for things to complain about, I was just unpleasantly surprised at how overall dingy and unsatisfactory the place was. Would not recommend.

Great location on the Blanco River!
The outside property was excellent. The house was decent but definitely needed some attention. Read the reviews on this prior to booking so you know what to expect. The property is amazing if you love being outdoors! Great rental for large groups wanting a good price for river access.

Property and scenery were both stunning!!
We loved that the property was mostly private, with private access to the beautiful Blanco River. We enjoyed the home, the outdoor cook out area and fire pit, and the river!! We will return this summer!!

Gorgeous property
The property was clean and comfortable. The stone patio overlooking the ridge outside was an AMAZING spot for morning coffee and conversation—one of my favorite parts of our trip. We took 2 kids and 2 dogs and they all loved it. The water was super cold in March but they were unfazed and had a great time playing in the water. Highly recommended and we would definitely come back.

Roaches but beautiful land
The property is beautiful. The views are amazing, the river is lovely. The beds are comfortable & kitchen is fully stocked. The house has water damage that’s been kind of repaired. There were roaches everywhere…dishwasher was disgusting, a bottle of Raid greeted us at the door, roaches lived in oven, had to clean fridge of dead bugs & feces, didn’t keep any food out, threw everything out when we left, used our own clean towels & sheets. I told the management company and was told this was the first they heard of this, which is surprising since there were so many (& the Raid). This is not something they could fix while we were there (it takes time to get rid of roaches & we didn’t want someone spraying poison where our kids & dogs were.) The management company has many reviews regarding lack of cleanliness of their properties, but we came prepared to clean if necessary because we aren’t very picky. There were moths and spiders, which don’t really bother us as we are in the country, however, it was clear they had a roach infestation. We go for the outdoors, not the indoors. Again, the land is beautiful and it is so sad that the home is infested.

great overall
the property was great, it was quiet and secluded. it was a bit hard to find since the gps wasnt super accurate. i thought it said on the website but maybe i didnt read it, it does not have wifi, wich isnt a big issue but can be for some (you still have pretty good phone reception). they have several grills and firewood and beautiful patios to lounge on. the stars are very bright b.c there is no light pollution so its awesome to sit outside (just be sure to bring a flashlight). house was pretty spacious, (walls are a bit thin) but thats no big deal. cute little rustic house, will definitely come again.

AMAZING!!!
Everything was amazing. The house was a lot bigger than what it looks. Beds were supper comfortable. The veiw went perfect with our morning coffee. Loved the porch, and fire pit at night was perfect. The river was amazing we did walk down the first time, it was very steep but we made it. The seating are by the water was great. My only complaint is mabe adding a rail to walk down the steps to the water. This location was amazing, very cleam. Check in and check out was super simple. I would definitely be booking this place again in the future.

The Dome River House Exceeds Expectations!
This property is so beautiful! The private access to a relatively untouched river makes this place a hidden gem. My friends and I absolutely loved this place. The only suggestion would be some potential updates but that really wasn’t a big deal. I was more worried about cleanliness, but the property was very very clean! Be prepared to deal with a few bugs simply because this is located in nature. Overall, very lovely experience. We plan on coming back!

Beautiful outdoor spaces! Love having our own private space on the Blanco. House was very comfortable with plenty of beds. We loved our time here. Will be back.
Had a little trouble finding. Maybe send photo of gate to renters.

Things to know
This home has a great location and great square footage. The home is in dire need of repairs, the upstairs bedroom with the king bed has a leak under the window seal with damage and crumbling wet sheet rock. The cleaning team was still there at check in time and left a wad of hair on the bathroom floor downstairs. The home is in dire need of pest control, pill bugs and stink bugs everywhere indoors. The garbage cans were full upon arrival. The nightly price is excessive with these kinds of issues.

Review Dome River House
This property is wonderful for a quiet get away, relaxing by the fire pit, and enjoying the River. Sunset was absolutely beautiful! View was great!
The house itself has a unique design, great lighting from skylights, and plenty of room for our family of 7 who stayed there for a wedding. The kitchen was well appointed, and we love to have the luxury of a laundry room.
The only problem we had with our stay, was the lack of supplies. There was one small, hotel size bath soap for 7 people ( and I had made a reservation for 9.) There was no dish soap, dishwasher soap, detergent, or broom. And there was only one trash bag. So we had to make extra trips to purchase things we needed.
That being said, there is no place like Wimberley for an enjoyable week-end or month long vacation! It is an amazing slice of heaven!

Weekend Get Away with Friends
Secluded location, not to far from town. Kind of felt like staying at your parents summer house in the hills. Comfortable beds, but could use another queen size bed instead of the twin size beds for my group. Great outside patio's with firepit. Plenty of room to have the fire going and still play cornhole. Fantastic view down to the river, with private road to bring the group and supplies to and from. Lots of deer in the morning and afternoon. The house does carry sound, so if you like white noise when you sleep, bring a fan. Otherwise you can hear peoples conversation from any room. If this property was for sale, I would buy it. Enjoyed the stay and will do it again.

Awesome river-side property with lots of room and privacy.
As amazing as the pictures look, lots of space with lots of great hang out areas, indoor and out. The river front is a little bit down, but there's a driveway that is easy to drive dow for anyone with difficulty walking. The entrance can be easy to drive by, look for the garbage bin and the large metal numbers on the gate.

Family weekend retreat
Overall, we had a good time and enjoyed the property. It would have been nice if the property had wi-fi as some of the high school and college children had homework they needed to access. Plus, the dishwasher only works if a kitchen light is on, which took us a while to figure out. The amenities felt a bit dated and the home is noisy inside as a result of its design, but it was spacious, comfortable and well-appointed with lots of outdoor areas for sitting in the shade to read, eat or converse. The swimming area is quite slippery right where the steps hit the water -- I recommend installing a rail as two of our family members slipped badly on the rocks getting into/out of the water.

Done River House Review
First I would like to say that the property is a gorgeous piece of land with a beautiful spot on the Blanco River. There is a small steep road that is paved that is easy for cars to make it down almost all the way down to the water. The water in the Blanco isn’t ever very high but the fishing was decent. That being said there were many things wrong with the property. Google maps doesn’t have an accurate location for the place but we found it about a half mile down the road. Then coming in you could see the layer of dust on everything in the house. The ceiling is sprayed with that white insulation “popcorn” and it’s everywhere. I ran my hand over many surfaces and came up with a dust mitt. All of the closet doors stick almost to the point of inaccessibility. One was completely off track and fell on my head when I opened it. We fixed it. The toilets were dingy. In the kitchen there mouse and/or rat droppings. There were many. We had to clean this immediately. The sinks wouldn’t drain. The clothes dryer didn’t work. It was almost better to hang things to air dry. There was water damage in multiple places. Then it got a little weird. There was a small bedding spot in the upstairs bathroom closet. It was like someone had been sleeping there recently. We kind of forgot about it but then noticed a bedroom window that was unlocked. It would’ve been very easy for someone to climb in and use the place as a crash pad or whatever. Kind of put us on edge a bit. If the place had been cleaned recently the bedding would’ve been picked up. We called the mgmt company and told them everything and asked for the cleaning fee to be refunded but they said that they were sorry that we can’t and that lies with cleaning company clauses. That’s really convenient for them to say since you only get their phone # and can’t go further than that. They said they would look into the camper theory and the other things but had to “verify” what we saying...woooow. Glad we documented EVERYTHING. The outside grounds are beautiful though. They’re well maintained it seemed. Great fire pit. But we ran into the season of the buck moth caterpillar. I had to look this guy up. They’re the most beautiful SPINY things you’ll ever see just don’t let it touch bare skin. I think 4 of 6 of us got stung. It’s a slow painful burn.. They were literally everywhere. They were falling out of trees onto people’s shirts. Beautiful lil nightmares... Wanted to work with mgmt but got nowhere. Waiting...

Dog poop in the closet, hair and dirt everywhere!
I am completely sickened with the un-cleanliness of this house. When we arrived my kids ( 7 and10 )were excited to choose the bed they were going to sleep in as always when we go somewhere new. Well, we pulled back the covers of the bed my son chose only to find the sheets and pillows covered in dirt and dog hair. As we went through all the rooms and beds 5 out of 8 beds had dog hair and dirt all over the blankets and pillows. The floors were so bad that I would not let my kids walk around in the house without shoes. The sofa was covered in dog hair and what looked like dry slobber. The living room table had hair, dirt and crumbs all over it and under it. The stairs looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in months. The kitchen appliances had food and hair on them also. Inside the cabinets were gross. I immediately sent a txt to the rental company which is what they told us to do if we had any issues. I never received a response. I can look past the cosmetic issues like the mold on the ceiling, water spots from leaks, and pealing wall paper. I can even understand a few cob webs and bugs on the high ceiling. But there was no way this house was cleaned after the people who stayed there before us. I know this because on night 2, my daughter was getting in the shower and asked if I could get her PJ's for her. I went into the closet where she hung up her clothes and that's when I found dried diarrhea on the carpet in the closet. Unfortunately, it was already after midnight and we were to exhausted to pack everything and make the long drive home. So we packed up my daughters stuff and put it in the room we were in and she slept with us since there were no other clean beds in the house. We have rented many pet friendly houses/cabins and have never had an issue with dirt and hair everywhere and definitely not diarrhea inside. After we left, I waited a few days to see if I would receive a response from them. Since I did not hear anything I called the rental company and explained everything and was told to send pictures. I sent several pictures. They did offer to refund a small cleaning fee....Sorry, that might have been ok for all the dirt, hair, and slobber on the floor, table, sofa, and beds but not for dried diarrhea in the closet! I would definitely not recommend this property. The house is not as nice/clean as the pictures make it look. It would be nice if I could post my pictures. On a good note, the fire pit, river and outside property are beautiful.

Great Stay
Overall the place was great. I could not give 5 stars only because we experienced a problem with the gate opening and closing. Great place for a large family. Lots of space. Walk to the river is a hike, but we made it down several times. The kitchen could use a good deep cleaning. Property is very pretty.

Beautiful property
The entire family wants to return here during summer months so we can take advantage of the river frontage soaking in the water. We took one star off because of the upstairs toilets needing several flushes to fully flush the bowl's contents. We saw some black mold in a place on the ceiling and there was swelling from water contact to the pressed wood and Formica countertops near the sink in the kitchen. The outdoor living space exceeded our expectations.
