super close to the sea , very good spa, nice massage.
not so many people in March so it is perfect time to have some days off here in spring.
we enjoyed our stay a lot. there is also a pretty cool gym, which has everything for a proper workout.
Breakfasts and dinners were so diverse, so we could fulfil all our preferences.
highly recommended
7.0 / 10.0
1. The food is fantastic, especially when they try to impress many guests, e.g. the weekends or public holidays.
2. The location is perfect.
3. The view is beautiful.
4. It is quiet, and when it's out of season, you feel as if you have the place to yourself.
5. Most of the staff is polite and friendly.
6. You can truly relax here.
7. The service at the bar is superprofessional!
1. Food quality deteriorates notably when there are fewer people, especially breakfast.
2. No toiletries, blankets, water bottles, or literally nothing are available in the room.
3. Some areas in the hotel definitely need some repairs; it can look quite sad, to be honest.
4. You should bring your hairdryer because the one in the room is ancient: you can spend half an hour drying your hair. The hotel offers no alternatives, and you cannot borrow a better one.
5. Room cleanliness is spotty; it entirely depends on the person cleaning that day.
6. While it's understandable that the hotel is closed off-season, nowadays, it seems incomprehensible that they do not have someone answering e-mails or the phone. If you book your stay when they are closed, which is possible via booking, you may end up without spa appointments/extra services during your visit.
7. The spa area needs some work and reorganization: the treatments are lovely, but it's hard to make an appointment, there are no bathrobes, no hairdryers, and the guests do not adhere to the timetables so you can end up with ten people in a tiny spa area.
When you have a hotel with a spa, you must consider how the guests get from the spa to the room, etc. You can rent a bathrobe, but it is absurd: 5 EUR a day. Also, nobody seems to clean the area during the day, so you can easily slip. Throwing towels to cover the puddles is not a solution, but it is what they do.
Another thing is that when you book treatments that last less than an hour, you have to wait in a dodgy waiting area after your (usually warm and cuddly) treatment; nobody even offers you tea or something warm to drink. It might be fine in the summer, but it is definitely not fine in February.

A pleasant stay , a little impersonal.
Pool was lovely.
Beach was very clean.
There are fantastic resturants in Punta Umbria which were delighted with.
We only had the buffet as we arrived too late to find a restaurant and thought it was poor.

Nice, clean hotel with good swimming pool and close access to the beach. The beach is very relaxed and unspoiled by too many people. Food is good. very friendly and professional staff. Mainly older, spanish tourists. Very good hotel if you like a spanish experience in a very relaxed area.
There is nothing around the hotel. This hotel really is only for relaxing. The only town worth visiting close by is Huelva.

We hooked a comfortable room with a nice view, the sea was very close .The swimming pool is beautifull.
7.0 / 10.0
The hotel was nicely located, the pool is nice as well, very complete gym for a hotel, bar food was very nice as well as well and the entertainment during the evenings since it's quite a quiet area, view is very pleasant and soothing especially at golden hour when the sun is setting, beach close by in case you're not a pool person with direct entrance with hotel card, city center close by in case you wanna grab a bite or buy some souvenirs, very comfortable mattress.
You get the bare minimum included with your stay, everything else is sold as an extra (i.e. slippers and robes), the pool opens very late, the schedules for the meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are not followed and are treated as "courtesy" on the part of the hotel, instead of just following the schedules they have on the app (we had to eat in a rush because they were starting to take to food out). Food (either dinner or lunch) was not amazing and was most times cold, you have to get the time right or put it in the microwave, you cannot watch netflix on the bedroom TV unless you bring your own HDMI cable, it is a smart TV but all the apps are blocked (which is a shame because it's big), fridge absolutely disgusting and dirty.

excellent location. beachfront with direct access: also of note was the parking facility which made it extremely convenient to unload and load vehicle without the typical traipsing through the hotel…
the bar area was uncomfortable and slow. and the pool service doesn’t make sense and didn’t work. we tried and had no response, ended up having to go to the bar in person. pool service should be immediate, right? it makes sense and when we saw it that was our expectation. I don’t want to book an ice cream for delivery in 30 minutes time or in 2 hours: I want it now!

The swimming pool in front of the beach is nice.
we had a superior room with the view on the sea and the pool. it was noisy every night. We could not enjoy the terrace at night as there were different shows. it was not quiet and relaxing at all. the staff didn’t help us to get a new room. The price per night was too expensive for the level of the hotel and the service.

Near the beach, hotel design, food, silence, gym, mobile app with hotel information and possibility to make all type of requests from there.
Night entertainement could be more "international"
7.0 / 10.0
the location by the beach and the night entertainment. and the kids entertainment team is nice and hard work, thank you!
- the parking should be rated by the time you used it, for instance if I use the parking for 8hours I should pay for 8 hours rather than 24hours
- the drinks note procedure. it is hard to follow and should be paperless. if you stay for a week… way too many paper to take of. instead the staff should handle everything through a note pad so everything is digital and instantly. having a manual process you are linked to a human error and how to prove it?
- have some more music by the pool, maybe

Stayed at the Barcelo Punta Umbria for a few days with the purpose of resting under good weather. The hotel is very good. Amenities are spacious, confortable an clean. Room (swimming pool view) was excellent, with a fantastic bed. The hotel was far from fully booked and so it was quiet, not too confusing to dine or to get a bed by the pool. Breakfast and dinner was rather good, with a large variety to chose from. Obviously, buffets start to be boring after a few days but there a "a la carte" restaurant which we did not try. Pool is nice with direct access to the beach (wide, not crowded). Did not use the SPA buit it did look good. Overall we were very happy with the days we spent there.
Nothing really. Punta Umbria is not really very nice (may be too crowded at Summer peak) but the hotel is at the far end of the village and not really affected by it.

The swimming pool.
We were very excited to go to this hotel because it had great reviews and looked amazing but in the end it was a disappointment. The room was very basic, for the price we paid we expected it to be better. The toilet was old and the hair dryer didn’t work- when we informed staff that the hairdryer didn’t work they said they would fix it but never did. We had to give a 10 euro deposit to use the towels for the swimming pool which we weren’t told about. The worst thing was the live performance at night. The performance takes place right next to the rooms and so was incredibly loud and continued past 12 at night. When I asked when it would finish because we couldn’t sleep and had to wake up early staff told me that this was very normal of the hotel and I just had to deal with it. Overall very uncomfortable and disappointing.
