About this house rental
Situated on the east side of the River Dart, in the Bridgetown residential area of Totnes, with the town centre only a 10 minute walk away, the bungalow enjoys lovely views over the town and countryside to Dartmoor in the distance. As an alternative to walking or driving into the town centre, there is a local bus service which can be boarded immediately outside of the bungalow on weekdays.
The bungalow has its own driveway affording off-road parking alongside a small lawn to the front while to the rear there is a more secluded larger garden which is a lawn and patio area with garden seating.
Inside is bright, airy and of a modern style. An entrance hallway leads into the kitchen and lounge area. The bathroom comprises of bath with electric shower, basin and W.C. There are 2 bedrooms; a single and a double. The double bedroom has French windows leading onto the patio.
The property is centrally heated. ( There are no additional charges for the use of electricity, gas and water.)
Totnes has a wealth of history behind it with its Castle and Clock Tower (the East Gate) being prominent features of the town.
It also has a character and feel all of its own, much of which is due to the influence of the students of Dartington College of Arts of the more recent past. Indeed, nearby Dartington Hall and gardens are well worth a visit.
The town is well known for its unique, independent shops and also has plenty of cafes, restaurants and pubs to choose from.
As well as its charm and history, Totnes is also a route centre, lying in the heart of South Devon and having good connectivity to the rest of the area and the larger centres of Torbay, Plymouth and Exeter. The A38 dual-carriageway from both Exeter and the M5 motorway and continuing to Plymouth and on into Cornwall is only 6 miles away, and the main railway to the southwest also serves the town. To the south of the town are the rolling hills and beautiful coastline of the South Hams, and to the north the wonderfully rugged scenery of Dartmoor National Park. Also the popular beaches of Torquay and Paignton are only 7 - 10 miles away. All of these features are within 45 minutes' drive and there is also an extensive network of bus routes to the vast majority of these areas from Totnes.

We had a lovely week in Totnes. Great for exploring this part of Devon. House is located in a quiet neighbourhood and has pretty much everything you need. City centre is a 10 minute walk with nice shops and weekly market days. We especially enjoyed Dartmoor National Park.
Would definitely recommend. Thank you Ian!

Comfortable and well equipped bungalow. Very clean. Good location in walking distance to Totnes town centre, a lovely market town with many interesting buildings.

Excellent accommodation, everything has been thought of plus lots of little extras that make this a home from home. The welcome pack of milk, fruit, biscuits, wine etc was a lovely thought and much appreciated.
Ian was also really helpful with local knowledge when we needed it. The back garden and private parking are definite plus points, especially as parking is not easy in Totnes itself.
The bungalow is a 10-12 minutes walk into Totnes which is a wonderful, friendly town with lots to see and do. Plenty of lovely restaurants to eat at plus lots of history and character which we loved. It is also a great base to see the surrounding area. We felt very at home here and could happily have stayed longer.
We definitely recommend the Round Robin trip as it is a lovely day out for all the family.
We would highly recommend Ian's bungalow to anyone looking for self catering accommodation in the area.

Home from home
We visited Devon for a family wedding and stayed in Ian's bungalow for a week. It was ideally located, very peaceful and only a short walk to Totnes town centre, supermarkets, restaurants etc. It was lovely to find a welcome basket with milk, fruit, wine, biscuits after a long journey. There were also lots of other items to make the stay easy, kitchen items, toiletries etc. Local bus right outside the door, we decided to take the Stagecoach bus (£5 for a day ticket) to Torquay, Brixham - take a break from driving and see the area. Had a really good holiday and Ian was a great host and would have no hesitation in recommending this accommodation.

A great spot
We had a wonderful three nights here with our 3 month old. The house was immaculately clean, there was a lovely welcome of a bottle of wine and some biscuits, and Ian was easy to deal with. Totnes High Street is a short walk away.

Totnes holiday
We were very impressed with the bungalow, the location was excellent and the bungalow was very well maintained and equipped and Ian was most helpful and friendly.
Unfortunately we had to cut our holiday short for health reasons but we shall certainly return to Lansdowne Park when we next visit Totnes

An excellent place to stay
Terry and Yvonne P.
We have just returned from a great holiday. The bungalow has recently been carefully refurbished and is very well equipped with lots of little extras to make you feel at home. It is modern, clean and comfortable. We stayed in November and were lovely and warm.
It was a very nice gesture to find wine, fruit, biscuits and even milk in the fridge. These were particularly welcome after a long drive. Totnes town centre is within easy reach by foot, as is a riverside walk. "Bob the Bus" will stop outside and was particularly useful in avoiding parking in town. Thank you Ian and Jo for a very comfortable holiday.

Quality hospitality
Very welcoming home. Sets the bar for “sparkling clean”. V generous pantry items. Comfortable. Location is in a suburb across the river but still only 10 mins walkto town centre. Suggestion: follow Ian’s directions. Satnav takes you into wrong street. We had difficulty locking the front door but you just turn the handle up... that is a locking mechanism, then lock with the key. This accommodation offers quality hospitality. We hope others enjoy their stay, as we did. Thanks Ian.

The bungalow was fantastic. Very clean, well equipped and perfect location.
We were made to feel very welcomed upon our arrival. The bungalow is a good size and ideal for a family stay. Very clean, well equipped and very cosy. It was a nice gesture to find milk in the fridge, wine and biscuits on the dining table and many leaflets on the activities and attractions in Devon. The area is quiet and friendly...we had a very relaxing stay and all the main attractions in the Torbay and surrounding areas are very accessible from here. Would definitely look to come back and stay here.
