Great option in Barreirinhas. Hostel is clean, AC and Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Breakfast is algo good 😊

Beautiful hostel with great garden. Good breakfast. But mostly I liked the super friendly owner and staff! Thanks for helping with the booking of trips to the dunes :)

Good location, good security and good tours.
I have stayed at hundreds of hostels around the world (including on a remote Colombian pacific island that lacked running water) and so I know what to expect. This hostel is up there in the rankings of the worst I’ve ever stayed at. It did not meet the bare minimum that anywhere professing to be a place to stay should meet.
I was met with eye rolls from the staff when I asked for bedding without stains (my pillow case had neon party stains and my sheets had some brown stains. One sheet didn’t even fit the bed). In the boiling 35 Celsius heat, they only allow you to turn on the aircon at 8pm. That means that if you want to take a shower and get ready (as a female with long hair I needed to use a hairdryer) with no aircon it was very uncomfortable and it delays me going out to enjoy the town. It’s also too hot to do anything else like nap.
Most worryingly, though. I had read another review about hearing sounds of mice/rats in the ceiling. I chose to ignore it thinking that the reviewer might have been dramatic. I woke up to the exact same sounds, SEVERAL mice scurrying around in the ceiling/the walls around me. I spent the rest of the night not being able to sleep as it wasn’t clear from the sound if there were any in the room itself. I came all the way to Barreirinhas to do long day tours of LM, but had a completely sleepless night thanks to this hostel which hampered my ability to enjoy the next day. The breakfast looked reasonable but given that I had heard mice scurrying around, I can’t say I had an appetite.
The room itself was SO dirty. Dust everywhere, noticeable dirt - it didn’t look like it had been cleaned in months.
This hostel has potential as it has a nice social area, is in a good location, and the tours (particularly the Santo Amaro tour) were fantastic, but in terms of the basics (sleeping/eating/cleanliness/not dying of heat stroke) it falls well well below par.

Everyone was absolutely amazing! The place is just like an oasis in the middle of atins. Perfect if you want to rest and disconnect from the outside world. It completely exceeded my expectations!

Everything:) best hostel you could find with amazing staff!

Very helpful for organizing Tours, great breakfast
Difficult communication if you don't speak portuguese, too few bathrooms for all the people

Great vibes, nice people, and super helpful staff. Carlos was a huge help in organizing the tours and getting me a transfer to jeri!

I liked the atmosphere a lot. It was nice to be able to hang clothes outside in the sun.
Only three bathrooms for the entire hostel. So many people switching rooms every day.

The vibe of the hostel is awesome for solo travelers. Staff are always there to help with anything, including finding you a great trip for the next day or a nice place to chill in the evening. Beds are comfy and air conditioning is always on spot, not too cold so you freeze or too hot so you can't sleep. Breakfast is well served with many options. Truly, one o. The best hostels I've stayed.
There are only 3 bathrooms. Although I did not have problem with it, be sure to be prepared for some line in the afternoon when everybody is arriving back from the day trips. Bathroom could also be a little cleaner and beds could have a individual light.

Location, 1 staff spoke good English, commun areas were nice too, air conditioning and wifi working great, decent breakfast
There's a lot of people returning from the passeios at the same time and there's only 3 showers ... I waited 35 minutes to take mine. No "big deal" but a bit annoying

Great hostel, friendly staff and comfortable rooms !

The host was extremely friendly, helpful and spoke good English. He helped me set up the tour I wanted and helped me feel at ease. The value was pretty tough to beat as an Ok hostel breakfast was included. There was also a very large common area with hammocks to relax. The Internet was pretty good most of the time.
It's important to understand that this is a pretty rustic town and most facilities are pretty basic. I'm a city guy and I like modern luxuries so I would've preferred a modern hotel, but the prices are quite high in this town for luxury and you really can't beat the value this hostel offers. There is really nothing to complain about.

Good value for money and super helpful staff, you can book your tours and transfer with Carlos.
Some things were kinda “hostel-basic”, like the breakfast.
One of the beds was only the bottom/boxspring so there was no actual mattress on it… not super comfortable to sleep on, but we managed.

The staff was super nice and friendly. Carlos helped me book a tour for the lencois and Sonia helped me out to clean my bicycle I travel with. The common area is spacious and cool!
