About this cottage rental
You won’t find many locations in the world, let alone Northern Ireland, to rival the spectacular setting of our traditionally styled, secluded Beach Cottage. Ballintoy is famous for its picturesque church, 19th century harbour, small sandy beaches and more recently as a film location for several scenes in the, award winning, Game of Thrones television series. Our cottage is perched on the side of a cliff, overlooking the beach. You don’t get much closer to nature than this wonderful location where you will wake up to the sun rising, across the ocean, from behind Rathlin Island.
Apart from sporting activities, golf, water sports, walking, cycling, angling and horse riding, visitors have access to The Magnificent Seven Must Sees (Causeway Coast and Glens) on their doorstep – Giant’s Causeway, Carrick-A-Rede Rope Bridge, Dark Hedges, Downhill Demesne and Hezlett House, Dunluce Castle, The Nine Glens of Antrim, Bushmills Distillery with the opportunity to discover a whole lot more.
Enjoy the warmth and home comforts offered by this accommodation as you absorb the beauty of the dramatic surroundings on your doorstep as well as that of the North Antrim Coastline and beyond.
The house offers comforts of a modern home with open plan kitchen/living room, bathroom with bath and large shower, two bedrooms with king size beds, raised decking area to front, just above the beach. Oil fired central heating and an open fire. Parking available.
NITB approved self-catering property.

What an amazing place you have! We loved every minute of our stay. The view was excellent and it was hard to leave to go see the sights. The only downside was that we had to leave. But, we hope to be back someday.

We really enjoyed our visit. The cottage is located directly at the seafront and furnished really good.

This cottage is perched right above the beach, with beautiful views across the bay to Sheep Island and behind that, Rathlin. It rained almost all of our 4 day stay, so we couldn't sit on the deck above the sea. The interior is comfy and very clean, with all the amenities you might want, but a bit bland.
If you want to get away from it all, this is a great place. You can walk along the cliffs to Carrick-a-Rede, and are a short hop from Giant's Causeway and Dark Hedges. Easy trips to Bushnells, Derry, Ballycastle.

My partner and I stayed here for our elopement in N Ireland and we could not have picked a better place. Truly … perfection. The cottage has everything you need and the views are to die for. We were already taking about how we want to come back before we even left. Could not recommend enough!!

A wonderful place to stay. Comfortable and clean with amazing views and a beach on your doorstep. Owners were very helpful. Great location for Giants Causeway and other interesting places. We had a great day in Belfast and another in Derry. We would highly recommend this cottage and we hope to return.

What an Amazing location!!! The cottage itself is appointed and decorated in a lovely manner. We loved our breakfast looking out over the sea. We were blessed with viewing several rainbows. It was very convenient for seeing Giant’s Causeway and the rope bridge.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in June 2023 for our elopement. It was the best trip ever and we could not fault a single thing. Our 14 year old stayed with us on wedding eve and even he was amazed at the scenery from inside and outside the cottage. We were all blown away by the beautiful scenery and surroundings. This place is spotlessly clean and modern, well laid out information on the facilities heating etc. Perfect for a couples retreat or families alike.A trip we will never forget - everlasting memories made! Thank you so much Louise for your hospitality. Having the beach on your doorstep is something else! We are so glad we chose Ballintoy Beach Cottage for our elopement. We will be back!

The location, and the stay itself were absolutely epic. The owners were lovely and we could not have picked a better place to stay over our elopement. We had plans to have our wedding photos taken at the Giant’s Causeway but the location of the cottage was so stunning, we opted to come back to the cottage instead! Truly memorable and a place we will never forget. We look forward to visiting again. Thank you for the stay of a lifetime!

We had the most magical time staying here for our wedding/mini moon! It is the perfect base for the Antrim coast. The cottage was spotless and I loved the decoration. It was so homely and modern and had everything you need. The terrace is a showstopper and we saw dolphins for the first time in the Antrim coast. It really was magical and I can’t wait for us to come back! Maybe even for our 1 year anniversary. Louise was very helpful too and answered any queries so quickly. We will treasure our memories in your home forever.

Absolutely fantastic location - we wrapped up well and spent a lot of time on the deck, which had a totally uninterrupted vista
Beautiful views from inside the cottage too.
Lovely to wake up and look out to such beautiful scenery
The cottage itself was also superb - everything there that we needed and very clean.
Great bathroom and lovely comfortable beds
So many great walks on our doorstep
Definitely one of the best locations on the Antrim Coast.
A special mention too for the Bothy - lovely food, ,brilliant staff - also has a great covered area at the back which is dog friendly

Louise and John met us at their beautiful cottage on the edge of the sea, at night, in the rain and with stormy winds blowing. Their welcome was as warm as the night was cold. Their cottage is utterly beautiful, warm and cosy, superbly appointed and decorated like a show home. Neat as a pin and chic, cleverly designed and equipped with everything one could possibly want. We loved it. No wonder everyone writing in their visitors' book says they want to come back!

We really enjoyed our stay, it was a great location for exploring the coastline. We loved having our own little secluded beach. The cottage was perfect, absolutely no complaints. The driveway was very challenging so we mostly parked in the car park which is only a 2 minute walk. Definitely recommend!

From the time you arrive, seeing the most breathtaking views, then entering the house/cottage where Louise has created the most perfect oasis. Each room from the living room to the bathroom to bedrooms has been so tastefully decorated. The details and thoughtfulness she has added for her guests to enjoy have been well thought out.
My husband and I both agreed this property and location has been by far number one in all our travels
It was sad leaving but we are already planning our return!

I had been recommended this property by a friend who gave it a glowing review & it didn’t disappoint in any way.
The cottage is in a fantastic location, so quiet & peaceful, but close enough to local amenities when needed. It’s also a great starting point for walking/driving for sight-seeing.
The cottage itself is absolutely perfect in every way ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was our second stay this year and again we absolutely loved it. The cottage is so comfortable and clean and has everything you will need. The location is private and perfect for just chilling. Our last day was extremely special, while we were enjoying our morning coffee we were visited by a pod of dolphins. Hopefully we will return again soon.

What an idyllic property right at the beach and harbour in Ballintoy. It's like having your own private beach house and Louise and John have made such a fabulous comfortable home by the sea. Just sheer bliss, heaven on earth and the sound of the sea as you lie in bed is just perfect. Absolutely would recommend 100% staying here in a heartbeat. Love love loved our time here. Thank you for sharing this beautiful property.

Relaxing Oceanside Cottage
We stayed a week at this lovely oceanside cottage and found it every bit as delightful as the pictures suggested. Louise keeps the place very tidy and provides all the amenities needed for a relaxing stay. The kitchen has the basics for preparing meals or just a couple minutes drive will get you to Ballintoy. Mussels bar at Fullerton Arms was tasty. Ballycastle is a short drive as well and offers lots of dining options.
Be sure to enjoy the deck at sunrise!
Louise was in good communication with us about a parking hiccup, checked in throughout our stay to make sure we had everything we needed and was very prompt to respond. Would definitely recommend a stay here!

Little piece of heaven
This cottage has everything and all to very high standard. Spotlessly clean and very modern. The owners Louise and John are just lovely and were extremely helpful, as was the housekeeper Susan. The location is really private and so blissful you won't want to leave. So pleased we have another stay booked, can't wait to return.

Amazing
What can one say - this is the most beautiful property set in the most stunning location. The attention to detail in the interior of the cottage is brilliant- no expense spared and the comfort of guests has been a priority for the owners. We were fortunate to get beautiful weather but have no doubt it would also be lovely in winter especially if one lit 🔥 the stove. The owners are a lovely couple and most welcoming. The cleanliness of the property is of an exceptional standard thanks to the Housekeeper. An ideal location for relaxing, walking and having as a base for touring the beautiful Ballintoy and North Coast. Definitely 5 star accommodation. Thank you Louise and John. x

What an amazing cottage!! Beautifully appointed and the location is spectacular! Every morning we woke to the most spectacular sunrises right out our front door. Literally walk out the front door to the beach. Very quiet and relaxing place to stay and perfect access to all the things that we wanted to see!

Ballintoy stay
What can I say, except that this is a very special place. felt at home as soon as we arrived and the beach on the doorstep kept the kids occupied for hours. To fall a sleep listening to the waves and to sit on the deck in the pitch dark just looking at the stars was fab. thanks Louise am so jealous :-)

Return to splendour
This is our second stay at Ballintoy Cottage & the thrill & excitement of spending a few precious days there was just as strong as our first. As always the cottage is immaculately turned out with everything you need to make your stay as comfortable & memorable as possible. Also in these COVID times every precaution has been taken to insure your stay is as safe as it could possibly be. Leaving you free to enjoy that wonderful view and go for long long walks knowing you’re coming back to relax in front of a very inviting open fire.
We as a family love it & enjoy it in our own ways, should it be the kids running in & out of the surf or my wife just sitting on the private deck with a good book & a view, leaving me free to capture a few photos of this stunning location.
These are just a few reasons why we returned & will continue to do so.
