About this cottage rental
Alpaca Cottage is freshly and stylishly presented. It is light and airy, and spacious enough for two. The cottage has stunning views over Capability Brown laid out parkland, some of which is ours and where our small heard of alpacas (18 or so) live. You would be welcome to participate at feeding time. We also have 3 rescue chickens (as yet un-named!) who are kind enough to provide fresh eggs for out guests when they are in the mood to lay! They have also been known to wander into Alpaca Cottage because, basically, they are quite nosey.
With the sitting room/kitchen, double bedroom and designer en-suite all located on the ground floor, it is ideal for those with limited mobility.
We can now also offer Alpaca Walks, which we are running commercially. If you would like to do this, please contact us for details and pricing. It is relaxing, interesting, and fun to interact with these characterful animals!
The cottage adjoins on one side to our house, but is completely self-contained with it's own front door. It has a separate outside area for al-fresco meals or drinks. Located off a private road, and set in the midst of numerous footpaths, as well as just by the National Cycle Path #26 ( bicycles are available for rent for £10 each for half a day) , this is a superb location for the active, or for those just wanting to kick back and relax.
The cottage is also close to the beautiful River Frome, which can be walked beside, or even paddled in! The wonderful Jurassic Coast is just 10 miles away, and the historic county town of Dorchester just 5 miles away, and wonderful Sherborne is 15 miles away. We do allow well behaved dogs, at extra cost.

Stayed at this cottage for 2 nights and would definitely recommend. We were greeted by Paul’s sister who was wonderful and informative giving us a tour of the cottage and everything we needed to know. On our stay we unfortunately had an issue with the shower however were very quickly invited to use the facilities in the main house without any question.
The location is perfect and very quiet and peaceful. Waking up to the alpacas was a bonus as well as taking part in giving them a few carrot treats. The cottage has everything you needed in an ideal location.
I would like to thank Paul’s sister very much for her hospitality in our stay. Our dog absolutely loved it and would definitely come back again!

I stayed with my partner and my parents on the farm and everyone had the best time. The farm is beautiful, upon waking up you can already see the alpacas grazing. It's such an amazing getaway for switching off and enjoying time together. The Cottage as well as the Shepherd's hut are modern and up to amazing standards, with all the amenities you need for the perfect stay. The wifi works excellently, although I promise you you will hardly need it. Paul and Fiona are beyond welcoming and give you tips for the area. They go above and beyond to ensure you have the best time. The walk was our highlight, we laughed so much and each of us could walk their own alpaca. I can't praise this place enough. We gifted it for my dad's birthday and this is one to remember forever. So glad we did it - and hopefully, we'll be back! Thanks so much for the unforgettable weekend! :)

A very warm and cozy annexe. Well appointed, comfortable and clean. Type in address rather than post code, as post code is someway off where the property is situated.
Will go back, thoroughly enjoyed our few days there, and the walks are just what we needed away from the hustle and bustle of life...

Lovely home in a quiet and beautiful part of Dorset. Unfortunately wasn’t able to enjoy and get the most out of my stay because I wasn’t there for a vacation. Next time!

A wonderful little bolthole for 1 or 2 people (and a dog!). Superb walks on the doorstep. Paul was hugely helpful in signposting everything in the local area, and dealt with any concerns immediately. Highly recommended, especially if Alpacas and Classic cars are your thing!

Where else could you combine the beauty of Dorset countryside with alpaca watching and an introduction to amazing classic cars! We thoroughly enjoyed our short stay in beautiful Alpaca Cottage which was super clean and extra cosy. Paul, Fiona, Sophie and Guiness (the 2 lovable, friendly dogs) all made us very welcome! Our hosts struck a perfect balance of being friendly and informative without being intrusive. We loved the area which was perfect for walking, cycling, sightseeing and eating out. Would definitely return here again and we are investigating this owner’s additional rental properties. Thank you so much for a brilliant and relaxing stay.

We can’t say enough great comments about our hosts Paul & Fiona, and their property! My only complaint is that we can’t rate them higher than 5 stars!
If you are looking to get away from it all, but still want to enjoy everyday amenities within reach, come here. The photos accurately depict a tranquil environment that extends well beyond their property. The alpacas are bursting with personality and we are missing them already! We were provided options for more things to do then we could fit in during our short stay, and friendly advice along the way.
We don’t believe any future stays elsewhere could top the high standards and hospitality that Paul & Fiona so generously provide. They really should have their own tv show, they are that fantastic!
We can’t wait go back!

Dorset as an area has always appealed to me for a place to step off the earth and do some exploring and this place provides every means to do so in the best way possible.
Travelling with my partner the instructions to find the place were crystal clear and the communication with the owners (Paul and Fiona) even more so - being literally a call away.
The cottage itself is exactly as is seen in the photos, it’s small and perfect for a couple wanting to have a get away from any hustle and bustle of normal life.
The nearby (10 ish mins) town of Dorchester is extremely convenient with a Tesco for every need and the beautiful brewery square for plenty of variety when eating out.
Overall I could not recommend this quaint cottage enough for a couple that just wants a break and to reconnect in a stunning location with fantastic hosts.
Thank you so much Paul and Fiona!
